Germination
10/14 - Direct sow into Black Gold organic soil. First time using this soil, so we'll see... I flipped my other grow to 24 hour light today, because of dropping temperatures. So, this will start and finish with 24 hour lighting. The 5X5 is losing floor space, but the grow space is great. 10/17 - All 3 seeds have germinated. I had to add a heat mat to two of them, but all are up. Keeping the overnight heat at 72 or above, so I'll have to watch the overnight conditions with upcoming freezing in site. Humidity domes staying on until I see some leaf development. 10/17 PM update: removed heating mat and placed all 3 on buckets for elevation. I was afraid they would stretch too much being so far from the lights. 10/18 They are definitely stretching fast. Keeping humidity domes on for another day or so. 10/19 - Removed humidity domes, added Ph'd water. Looking good. Stretching, but good color. No concerns. Bonus - Day 45 - couple pictures of my Grease Gun by Atlas Seeds. This was a freebie from Multiverse Beans. I didn't think much would come of it, because it was such a slow starter. Now she's about 24" and filling in nicely.

What is the minimum temperature you would consider germinating into soil directly? My temperature this morning was 69 degrees Fahrenheit. I prefer about 85.

69F is a bit on the chilly side but I honestly wouldn't worry about it... the seed may take a little longer to germinate but it's a weed... and weeds like to grow.... You could put a heat pad underneath the pot to warm the soil a bit but I really don't think you have to.... Good luck!

10/31 - Day 17 - These are looking a little rough. On this grow, I switched from FFOF to an organic soil with more coco and perlite, which means they need more frequent watering than every other day. So I gotta do better. I'll move them to auto watering pots this week. 11/4 - Day 21 - put these in autowatering pots last night. Recovering from light burn.

11/26 Nutes. Moved to AutoWatering pots. Early flower and a slow start. I’m guessing instead of stunting the growth, it was delayed. Stretch on main col is starting. Needs more calmag. May increase feeding frequency. 11/27 Day 44 - added support poles. Started LST on G and E. F is the shortest and has not started stretching, so I can’t risk training yet. Showing signs of magnesium deficiency, so I’ll add calmag to the water tomorrow. 12/1 - Day 48 Recovering from the AutoPot debacle. Also had some nute deficiency going on at the same time. Alright, back on schedule with top down watering/nutes when light. Flowering coming along nicely. Need to do more LST, but didn't want to stress the plants anymore than I had, so no further LST today.

12/5 nutes and trimmed a few dead leaves 12/7 - Day 54 - Nutes. Two are stretching, and one appears to have stalled. Plant is perfectly healthy, just a slow stretcher at this point. 12/9 - Day 56 - Water. Tallest plant measured 28" or about 71cm. Smallest fails to fully kick into flowering and stretching. Not sure what the hold up is.

12/12 - Day 59 - Nutes and fish emulsion additive 5ml/gal. Noticed some really nice frost on one of these. 12/14 - Day 61 - Nutes and fish emulsion. These girls are coming in between 18-33" (46-84 cm), what a difference in pheno heights. Two are tall, one is NOT, she's a squatty bitch who's refusing to go along with the others. She's so slow to flower, she's there, just slow in development. Her bush is nice and trimmed, but FULL. light is no issue for the main cola and top branches, but still failing to hit stretch mode. She'll get there, or whatever. Family photo - Gorilla Cookies are on the left. I moved the position of the plants and adjusted the lights and PAR to 500-750 PPFD (approx). No concerns.

12/17 Day 64 Nutes - only used half strength bloom and calmag. I need to slow down all the vegetation, and stretch out the plant lifecycle a little longer. 12/22 - Day 69 Nutes. The smell is very strong. Very frosty plants.

1/8 Water 1/9 - Day 87 Pictures. She's looking great, but no amber. This is just 1 of 3 of these GCs in this tent. I just didn't want to drag them all out for a picture. 1/10 - Nutes Must mention there is a pollinated branch on this particular plant. I wanted to capture the short and stocky characteristics.

I have these 3 GCs drying, along with 3 sour stompers. The smell is so strong, you can smell it outside. Next time I will not run 6 to harvest at the same time to reduce smell. Aside from a carbon filter, what other methods are readily available to reduce the late stage odor?

negative pressure and a carbon filter... all you got. wherever it is drying, if you create negtive pressure (exhausting elsewhere with filter) then the smell does not leak. air flow is 1-direction.
