Two Skunk Hybrid traded for an OG Kush clone (bottom right). With Skunk for 1 week now, showing more life and new green. Skunks of all sizes are showing roots: time to repot. (Ignore tiny neglected plants in small pots - they are from an old failed project, they may come back)
Happy, healthy, and getting bushy! My other grow is showing major nutrient issues, so I just got pH monitors for both water and soil, plus up and down solutions. Soil is in high 7s, checked my water and it's coming out at 8. I have started treating water down to 6.3ish before watering, so hopefully these stay happy.
Just maintaining status quo... waiting for my bloom chamber to open in a week or two. Once my bloom area opens I'll move the two larger skunk plants in; then keep one skunk and the OG as mother plants for the next round of clones.
It's a jungle in here! The smaller plants are showing signs of nutrient burn, so Im starting to flush with plain water now. In a week I'll be repotting and moving two into bloom, and continuing to grow two more in prep for cloning.
Bloom chamber is finally open! Did some major defoliation on the two largest plants and moved them to a 12/12 cycle. Keeping the smaller two (one OG, one skunk) in the veg chamber; I'll repot them both into something larger and use them to take another round of clones.
Into first week of blooming, looking good. I have hooked up an automatic irrigation system for when I'm away a few days at a time. Right now I'm in testing phase to find the right cycle; currently each plant has 2 drip spouts, and the pump is set for 45 sec once per day.
They seem to be holding pretty steady... I've had a few leaves showing some issues, but it's been pretty sporadic. I'm keeping a close eye on the pH of the water in the reservoir. Right now I have it going for 75 seconds every 7 hours, with two drip heads in each plant.
Had to leave for a week and so I shut off the fans to reduce the number of things that could catch on fire. As a result it got a little extra damp in the chamber, but nothing too bad. Both plants have some great buds coming along; the weird thing is that one is looking super healthy all around, and the other has leaves that are starting to yellow/brown on the edges. All conditions between the two are exactly the same... I plan to just keep an eye on it for now.
Going strong, the burn on plant 2 has seemed to have stopped for the most part. Autodrip system is awesome, I can fill it once every week and it's good to go; 75 seconds every 5 hours seems to be the sweet spot (2 drip stakes per plant). They are starting to smell pretty good!
The smell has really picked up! The buds don't seem to be getting any longer/more connected, but they are def getting denser... I'm guessing another couple weeks before harvest.
Overall this was a good second grow. The initial defoliation was key in getting the nice density I missed out on last time. These plants went through the bloom cycle using a reservoir (5 gallon bucket) and drip irrigation system exclusively. Once I got the correct timing done for the watering, this setup was really great; I was able to go about 1-2 weeks between water refills, so it was easy leave for a couple of short stints with no negative effects on the plants. The one major thing I'd like to work on for next time is the drying process. I'm not sure if I cut the branches too small, if the room was just too dry, or if I just let them go too long (I had to leave for 9 days, and they were drying the whole time). While the curing has helped them get a little moisture back, the actual drying left the buds pretty crispy.
