Removed the larger fan leaves that were blocking bud sites.
Top dressed with 4 tbsp buildasoil craft blend, 5 tbsp compost, 4 tbsp buildasoil bokashi and about 6 handfuls of worm castings (plus the leaves that I trimmed). Skritched it all into itself and then watered it all in with recharge and ph’d water.
The Earthbox is doing a great job. The plastic cover sheet is a must. It’s always full of good action under there. I’ll take a picture in a day or two once it’s had a chance to do it’s thing. I’m liking these boxes enough that I ordered an Earthbox junior to try out the different shape. I think I’ll be able to two of the junior size in my 2.3x2.3 marshydro tent. I’m super curious if the shape will have the effect the buildasoil YouTube channel says.
I’m a little off on the week tracker here, seed soaked 10/16 probably sprouted on 10/19(?). So this maybe week 5 1/2 or 6. She didn’t look like anything was going on for the first three weeks but I suspect that was all root growth/exploration. Now that she knows where she’s at I’m hoping for some notable growth.
A feeding today under the cover.
Stonington blend flower food
Grokashi from buildasoil
Coast of maine castings
Bu’s blend compost
Also sprinkled a little mosquito bits under there because the fungus gnats we’re getting crazy. I’m conflicted about using the stuff, but the damn gnats are too much. I’ve read that dr. Zymes can be sprayed on the top of the soil to similar effect. Maybe I’ll try that the next time I have an issue.
Stretched out her arms today for better airflow. She’s getting thick and sticky and smelling delicious.
Did some defoliation around the flower sites. Trying to be minimal but still learning. Defoliation has proven to be rather difficult for me to do well. But practice makes perfect.
Been battling fungus gnats for a couple of weeks now, nearly under control. I think they came in with the castings or compost I bought about then. I’ve applied mosquito bits to the top and they’re working, slowly. It’s only a problem in this container. I also ordered mustard seed meal from buildasoil and will use that on my next grow. Which I’m already planning of course.
I think there’s still a few weeks left with this one but ultimately the trichomes will tell.
I received my mustard seed meal from buildasoil and put a few tablespoons under the stretchy cover. It worked wonders on the fungus gnats. Slowly starting to get milky, maybe two more weeks. Maybe more.
@timber03, I used to grow my autos in 3 gallon pots and photos in 5 gallon and all my plants were pretty small I switched to 5g for autos n 7g for photos and my plants probably doubled in size. I'd like to try 10g for my photos but my back says no way 😆
@Cyrusdavirus, yeah, there’s frost all over her.
She’s small too, like maybe everything I read about the shape and size of the root/veg Earthbox was right. I’ve ordered the full size version of the Earthbox and I’ll start another double grape seed in it after I chop this one. A little back to back experiment; same soil, same seed pack, same tent, same food.
Still a few weeks to go I think. Only downside is I’ll only be able to fit one in the 2x4 tent.
@@StinkyBudz, they smell great.
I think I stunted this girl in the too deep root/veg version of the Earthbox. I’m going to try another of the double grape seeds in an Earthbox jr. next run. I’m still figuring it all out.
