I’m still unsure about the difference between clear and milky but with them being a few weeks over, starting to look like they’ve seen better days and with me heading off for a few days over the Christmas period, I decided to chop. Did the skywalker chop the day before yesterday and quickly noticed that humidity problems will continue to haunt me in these home made grow boxes of mine. It got to 98% in the ‘dry room’ yesterday. Now I have both Luke and the Orange bud hanging in the one box since last night. I have a small humidifier and extractor fan on the case now so hopefully that plus neglecting them almost completely from the 27-31st will involve me returning to a couple of decent bushes instead of two lumps of blue cheese looking tragedies.
Mr Skywalker weights just over 4 ounces whilst wet and I bloody forgot to weigh the orange bud last night but guessing half that (with quite a bit of bushy waste to chop away on the orange….it lived in Luke’s shadow throughout).
That’s about it for now. I’ll do one more post - probably to detail my next fuck up knowing how things have progressed so far. If I get through this freezing cold (3-5 degrees) drying period then I’ll dare to dream about getting my hands on a decent smoke. Be nice not to have to buy from the local dealer…..although his stuff always smells and is a lot stronger than any home grown I’ve tasted so far…..delicious spray on chemicals.
@Indicate, Salt build up is a problem in coco i've noticed. It's actually better to increase your fertigation frequency and use a flushing agent at the end of the week to dissolve the excess salt. Over watering is better in coco than underwatering. I suspect you just have a build up.
@Budfella, Thanks for that tip. It’s amazing how many mistakes I’ve made despite all the information being available online. I’ll look forward to seeing your next diary post.
@Budfella, I’m not actually. Just following the biobizz chart and every couple of days giving nutrient rich water. Should I be rotating, giving non-nutrient water in between?
Love that KNF brotha! Yes that FAA will be really nice a year from now. I have a bucket of fish from 3 years ago and it smells so fresh and clean, and it's stronger now than the first year. Better every year. Also love some JADAM, I have found its even easier than KNF, I still use both now though ✌️ ☮️
@Indicate,
Yes, I did some last year hydroponic, DWC, just need a biofilter, there is a FB group on organic hydroponics, the guy on there has a sticky thread with directions on how to make the biofilter, basically you would pump everything into a separate system, like a 5 gallon bucket with holes on top of another 5 gallon bucket and the top bucket have filtration media like coco coir baskets filled with clay pebbles and other filtration. Have to see his set up. Then another pump sending that "filtered" water back to your Reservoir and the rest of your hydroponic system. The beneficial bacteria live in the biofilter and eat up the stuff that gets stuck in the media. It works, it's harder, I think KNF and JADAM is easy in living soil, 10+gallon containers, preferably in a large fabric bed.
@TheFattyMcCoy, will take a look at the Jadam thanks. Have you come across anyone using KNF/Jadam in a hydroponic set up? Be interested to try if possible.
Don't use hair straighteners they won't have the power needed to create rosin imo. That looks like a good yeild and why are you drying in a box? Can you not use the grow area? That's the best place for them. My orange bud are in flower now and FINALLY making buds, 14 weeks in I've got about another 7-8 weeks to go with those lol
@Indicate, nothing wrong with drying in the box, done it myself loads of times. I prefer to hang dry them these days. Obviously that's only if you have the space available.
@HappyWeeds, yes a bit longer curing will help hopefully. Though out tomorrow night after trying to make hash for first time so I’ll be all over the hay then.
