I germinated the seeds with the paper towel method. After 1-2 days the seeds sprouted and I put them in small pots (approx. 0,5 liters) of light soil.
After 14 days I transplanted the seedlings into 11l pots of light mix and started added Biotabs nutrients. Four days later I topped the plants and started with LST. So far the plants seem healthy and vital. Some leafs of the AK had a light tip at around week three of veg. but the new growth seems healthy. I water the plants every 2-3 days with about 10 l water per plant.
After 4 weeks of veg I decided to flip to flower and i reduced the light cycle to 12/12. On day 1 of flower I defoliated both plants and used some boom boom spray to help the plants against stress. Since i stick to the biotabs strategie, if have only watered the plants since transplanting. The growlight is dimmed to 80 %. So far the plants look pretty healthy to me.
The plants bounced back pretty good from the defoliation. I keep on doing LST to make use of the small space since I only have a smallt tent.
I used feminized seeds and I can already see the first signs of female flowers on both plants. I'm afraid that the Z and Z could be a hermie but I'm not 100 % sure yet. I posted a picture of what possibly could be a male pollensack. Maybe some experienced growers can help my out to find out if it is really a male flower? Since I don't want to have buds full of seeds, I would probably kill the Z and Z soon if is really a hermi. It would be a real shame to cut it down since it already has a nice smell at this point everytime I touch the plant. I have never grown this strain before. This is my second round of the AK-47. After my first grow I was really impressed since it is a great overall plant - nice vigor, easy to grow, good yields and a smooth smoke with a great uplifting but strong effect. The aroma was sweet und slightly spicy with a hint of sandlewood. I hope to have similar results on this run.

Unfortunately I had to kill the Z and Z because it turned out to be a hermie. It always hurts to kill a plant but I don't want to harvest a seeded crop. Since I have a little more space now for the AK 47, I did some more LST to spread out the branches. After 4 weeks of just watering I added some Orgatrex and Bactrex this week. I also did a light defoliation and lollipoped the lower branches. After about 2 weeks of flowering the plant is still stretching a lot.
I added some BIO PK 5-8 from the Biotabs line for the first time this week. Will do this once a week in flowering weeks 3 to 6.
The plant seems very healthy and the buds are starting to get bigger. The odor is still not very strong but that will probably change within the next couple of weeks.
I did a last slight defoliation just to make sure the plant gets enough airflow. The buds are swelling up and the odor is getting stronger.
Can't wait to see how the plant will develop in the next couple of weeks.
The buds are getting bigger and the aroma of the plant gets stronger from week to week. At this stage the buds have a very sweet smell. I added Bio PK again this week and the plant will get a last feeding in flowering week 6.
I fed the plant with Bio PK for the last time this week. From now on I will just water the plant without adding any nutrients.
The buds are starting to swell up and they are getting more frost. The aroma is getting more intense from day to day.
It's week 8 of flower. The buds are getting fatter and the aroma is more intense now. I can't wait to see the finished flowers.
The buds still have a lot of white pistols, so I hope that the colas will get even fatter. I hope to have a good harvest in a couple of weeks.
After 8 weeks of flowering, the plant is getting closer to be harvested. The buds really fattened up in the last couple of weeks.
I really like the sweet and floral aroma when I open the tend. The plant is really resinous at this point. Probably at least one week away from harvest.
After 69 days of flowering it was time to harvest my AK-47 plant. It was my second time growing this and I must say a really like to grow this strain.
It is easy to grow and I like to sweet and floral smells of the buds. Before I chopped the plant I removed the majority of the fan leaves and hung the whole plant upside down inside the grow tent. The temperature is at around 20 degrees celcius and the humidity is at around 55-60 %. I am planning on drying for a good 10 - 14 days. I will post a smoke report after drying and a couple of weeks of curing.
