Planted as a Christmas gift to myself 25th Dec 2022. I intend this to be a mother plant. If it germinates I will be putting it straight in the main tent (in the seed tray). She did germinate! Baby Citronella is alive!

Compared to the first two diaries in this grow (Karen & Bertha), this one went straight in the tent as soon as it germinated. A day later it's trebled in height and more than doubled in foliage growth. Obviously there was some light stretch there, so I raised the plant up about 40cm. Day 5: Removed cloche. This has been close to perfect first week so far. Update: So here we are day 7, and just look at the size of this seedling. I've obviously got this one right, so I think I will start two new auto-flowers this weekend using the same methods. The two auto-flowers currently in week three are going to end up being really small weak plants, and poor yield, but as I have the space anyway I will let them do what they can.

Here we are at the start of week 2 for this Super Lemon Haze from Green House Seed Company Ltd. So after a perfect first week with rapid growth, good colour, no obvious malformations or deficiencies... I have begun to notice the very beginnings of what I suspect is interveinal chlorosis on the new growth. This would be consistent with the two older grows currently in progress. So I shall be applying a new seaweed extract fortified with iron both into the feed and as a foliar spray when it arrives. Still the growth rate has continued so far. I have moved the plant out of the makeshift humidity box it was in and it is now sitting on top of the pot it will be transplanted into. That will happen when a good number of roots are visible from the bottom of the pot. Lastly, I have started to leave the door half open as this drops the temperature by a few degrees, with the lights lowered and the tent closed it pushes 30 degrees celsius, with it half open it ranges between 25 and 26. am able to keep the humidity around 50% on average, but this ranges from around 60-65% right after watering, down to 45% within about two hours. It seems to settle between 40 and 45% whether the tent is open or closed. I am therefore periodically misting the coco surface and plants throughout the day. They never go unchecked for more than four hours during lights on, rarely more than two hours in practice as whenever I go past the tent I can't help but take a peek. Day 9 (W2, D2): I have dropped the PH from 6.3 to 5.8 on advice from @GrowingGrannie in grow question. Day 10 (W2, D3): Firstly, look at the different in colour in just 24h - I believe the combination of lowering the PH and adding Acti-Vera has made an impact in the iron deficiency. Today I have added seaweed extract with iron. This Super Lemon Haze at ten days is way ahead in terms of growth rate and size compared to all my previous grows. Overall it is about the same size at this point as the Big Bang Auto that is 12 days ahead of it. It is currently pushing out node three. Day 11 (W2, D4): The colour has further darkened and growth continues to accelerate. So far so good! I have transplanted to next pot 2l. I also flushed with PH balanced water and then fertigated. This is a test of the flush I intend on the other plants. Day 12 (W2, D6): Leaves beginning to straighten out. Day 14 (W2, D7): Height: 7cm Width: 9cm Nodes: 4 Weekly growth data: From 5cm Height to 7cm +40% From 6cm Width to 9cm +50% From 2 primary nodes to 4 +100% Week Summary: I think this is about as close to a perfect start as any plant I've ever grown. I am extremely happy with Citronella thus far and excited to see if between us we can keep up her developmental pace.

Hello and welcome to week three for Citronella. Or to give her her full title; Her Regal Majesty, Queen Citronella, Mother of Lemons. Her majesty is very pleased with our humble service thus far, she finds us adequate (her words). Day 15: H9cm W13cm N5 Day 16: Fertigated with 2.5l @ 15:00 Day 16: Queen Citronella's grand roots have already breached the bottom of this pot, but this time they show a very regal girth! Day 16: Her majesty needs repotting but I have run out of coco. Will pick up some more tomorrow and repot. Day 16: Photo and measure 15/1 00:40 H10cm W19cm N5 Day 17: Coco not arrived yet so repot will be Day 18. Day 18. Repotted into approx 7l deep rose pot @ 16:20 and have performed an attempted FIM on the 6th node. Really impressive roots that filled the 2l deep rose pot she was in, she will probably outgrow this pot in a few more days, I better order her final pot! Fertigated with 2l. Day 21: PH adjusted water 2.5l @ 14:30 Day 21: Her majesty ends the week starting to recover from the FIM. She is by far the healthiest plant of the 6. BiG leaves. Week Summary: Citronella had rebounded from the FIM and absolutely swelled in size. I am as yet unsure how the FIM has gone but hopefully that will become apparent to my untrained eye soon. Seven fingers on fat leaves... I have a wonderful and vigorous Super Lemon Haze Indica phenotype I think, this must be quite unusual for stable genetics that are sativa dominant? I will need to compare other grows at this stage to see. She will be a magnificent mother, much lemon-aid will she bring forth from her tangy loins.

Welcome to the start of week four. We join her royal majesty as she begins what I suspect will be a big week. She has continued to impress every day and I am increasingly excited to see what she can do. I'm beginning to dream of my next grow [G3] a tent full of princesses. I still do not know what effect the attempted FIM has had but I suspect by the end of the week it will be obvious. Day 23: Secondary shoots have overtaken primary. I'm curious as to how the FIM pans out. Day 24: LST on lower nodes. Day 25: Citronella continues to show mortals of lesser breeding what royalty can do. Day 25.5: Scalpel! Wire! LST! HST! Defoliate! Defoliate! Defoliate! Her majesty has been adjusted (per royal decree). Day 26: Her majesty is thirsty... I'm having to feed her twice a day. I need to move her into a bigger pot. Day 27: Accidentally snapped off a side node attempting HST. Have dipped in rooting hormone and potted. Perhaps this will be the first Princess. Day 28: Photo before lights on hence wilting. Weekly summary: Because I took off four really big leaves Citronella's progress doesn't seem as impressive this week. However let me assure you it has been transformative. Her stem is thick, her colour is perfect, she responds willfully to my attentions (training). She is a mother plant so everything I do is geared towards producing more and stronger side stems.

Welcome to the start of week 5 for Queen Citronella. She has developed a thick stem and really short internodal spacing. She responds willfully to LST. Day 29.5: Repotted. Look at those roots!! This is a special plant. Day 30: There was brief transplant shock as I forgot to flush the medium to correct PH... she's bounced back today. Queen Citronella has almost outgrown Karen who is 2 weeks older. Day 31: Happy one month birthday your majesty! Swelling in every direction. Starting to gain height. Day 32: I've noted a sudden uptick in thirst. In an unrelated note I have added a little 15w LED above her at about 10cm. I doubt it'll make any noticable difference but it's in there anyway as I use it for photos, so it may as well be on. Day 32.5: Have removed approx 20 fan leaves and performed further LST. Day 33: Look how fast Queen Citronella responds to LST and defoliation. She has gained 1cm in the last 24 hours and now stands at 25cm. Day 34: 26cm. Day 34.5: Fertigated. Added pot risers and adjusted pot. Performed further LST on lower nodes. Performed HST on some higher nodes just for practice. Day 34.75: Fertigated 4l Day 35: She didn't gain any height at all that I can tell, but she has put on a lot of leaf growth in the last 24h. So here we are at the end of week 5, and Queen Citronella is starting to take her regal form. Slightly alarmed by the yellowing new growth but her growth rate has stepped up again so it may be just normal. I'll keep an eye on it. Once I can take enough clones I'll cut her back a lot. For now she can grow as much as she wants. Citronella now smells citrusy, if you brush against her it's quite strong. Defoliated approx 6 fan leaves.

Hello growers and welcome to week 6. I expect Queen Citronella to gain a lot of height this week. I will be doing the measurements shortly, but first I wanted to share some news! Queen Citronella has a new home, she hasn't moved in yet, but I'm working on it today. I will also be rearranging all the other grows and starting some new things off! I am not sure if I have mentioned it anywhere but I am using a 1.2m x 1.2.m x 1.8m tent.. I have just got a 60cm x 60cm x 140cm tent and a 300w LED. Her Majesty I hope will enjoy her new quarters. Day 36: I have lowered the light to 30cm above the tallest plants. Day 37: It is done! Queen Citronella resides in her own palace, while the rest of the plebs squat together in the communal living area. I have reorganised and moved my 4x4, mounting the carbon filter and duct fan properly in the center. Setup a 2 x 2 with a 300w LED and put the lights for both tents on the same timer (for now). I will measure and photograph Her Majesty a little later, including photos of her new home. Day 37: Added media. Height: 31cm. Fertigated 2l. Day 37.5: Alright she is really stretching fast, she grew almost 5cm in a little over 30 hours, A thought has just occurred to me; I could, if I chose to, put the Queen on a flower cycle at this point. Now I did want to do a full grow of clones, however we're talking something like another 2 weeks of veg then 2 weeks for cuttings to root, then I'd want to veg them for a few more weeks, maybe 2, 3 or 4? So that's 6-10 weeks before I start flowering. Then at least ten weeks of flowering, A week to dry, and at least a fortnight to cure. We're talking 20-25 weeks before I get to smoke it, that's six months! I probably wont be able to grow in the summer due to the heat. Now I already have the one cutting which I am hoping will root soon, which I can take forward, but I also have two more seeds. So, regretfully, I think I will change my plans. I will flower queen Citronella, starting on day 43. I still intend to do a full tent of Super Lemon Haze clones, but I think I will postpone that adventure until September. So this is now the final week or final five days of veg, she will spend the bulk of her last week of veg under a different light. We wont get much data on vegging (unless there is a significant change this week) but it'll be a nice trial run flowering with an LED light for the first time. Exciting! I am still waiting for the Epislon F1 seeds from RQS. I set their pot up today, inoculated, fed, and sowed some Dark Opal (Purple) Greek Basil and a liberal sprinkling of chamomile. I am going to germinate all five seeds in jiffy pellets and then put them all in the same 40l Day 38: I have realised Her Majesty was too tall to flower in this little tent so I snapped her neck a bit. I installed a photometer app yesterday and discovered I was blasting Citronella with 75 DLI so I raised to light up until canopy level was 40 DLI. The LED is pretty good. The HPS Dual Spectrum bulb in the main tent must be on its last legs as output was around 40 DLI for optimally positioned plants and 30 least optionally positioned. I could do to buy a new bulb. Identical replacement is about fifteen bucks, best one is about fifty. For that I could get another one of those LEDs which seems like better value. At the moment though I really need the heat. So I am thinking identical replacement. 4 days to flower cycle! Day 38.5: Replaced crappy old Dutch barn reflector with a much nicer angel wing model. Installed a significantly larger carbon filter into the main tent which has significantly increased air flow. The main tent vents into the bottom of Queen Citronella's tent, and from there and unfiltered duct fan in the far top corner exhausts it out. The exhaust pipe goes up the chimney. Why have I reorganised and moved the tents again so soon is because I was wasting power heating the little tent with the LED light, but the main tent has excess heat. Well this setup is working a treat. Citronella is sitting in a balmy 23-24 degree wind tunnel. Check out the little video of the changes. Day 39: I think her majesty likes her new quarters. It's going to be weird seeing her square in a few more days. We are 2 days into a "dry spell" I'm simulating for all my plants. Day 40: Dry spell ended. Fertigated 6l. Day 41: Fertigated 3l. Citronella's penultimate day of veg, she is going 12/12 from lights out after next. Photos taken 10:00 9/2/23. Current lights out is Citronella's last 6 hour night! Day 42: Start: Have performed pre-flower LST, HST, and defoliation. 24 hours to flower cycle. Day 42: End: photographed immediately before first 12h night. End of week summary: Huge week for Citronella. I think this LED light is pretty good. Change of plans regarding the grow and preparing her for flower. Let's see how she does.

So begins week seven for Citronella. She was flipped to 12/12 yesterday. Day 44: No big changes. Continued veg growth. Day 44.5 Fertigated 8l. Day 45: The yellowing at the top of colas is an early sign of flowering. Day 46: Fertigated 3l. Day 47: The yellowing I mentioned or perhaps the light greening of the newest growth is today a strong indicator that she is preflowering. All of a sudden there is a smell. 🤤🤤💛 I don't think I have given Queen Citronella enough attention and praise lately. She is all on her own in a little tent... and she is an absolute star. A really vigorous and healthy plant, with beautiful colouring and fabulous girth. I am so massively excited to see her flower, if it were possible to fast forward time, I'd be on that. Day 48: Fertigated 5l Day 49: Citronella now 30cm tall and 80cm x 70cm she's looking bigger today. Next week should show more flowering and the start of stretch. End of week summary: First week on 12/12 and she seems happy so far. Big healthy plant.

Hello and welcome to week 8, the second week of 12/12 for Her Royal Highness Queen Citronella. As you can see she is chafing at the lack of space. She wants to keep growing. I am looking for a 3x3 to solve this. Day 50: Fertigated 6l. Day 53: Height 33cm Width 70cm Depth 70cm - clear signs of flowering today. Fertigated 4l. Day 54: It's getting difficult to get her in and out safely as she is now bigger than the tent door. Day 55: Stretching fast now. 38cm x 60cm x 60cm the latter two being severely limited by the tent size. Day 56: End of week 2 since flipping. Preflower period ending and flowering proper begins. Approximately ten weeks to go. Citronella is really impressive and smells very citrus. All of her foliage smells if you touch it. I do not know if this little tent can contain her. I have some major concerns about this grow due to some real life complications.

Hello present and future growmies! Welcome to the start of week 9 for Queen Citronella. First things first, please go and check week 8, I update daily and the week is now complete. Day 57: Her majesty is parched and so overgrown in her space that I've decided to give her a haircut. It will hopefully make her easier to move about too. I've fertigated 10l today and performed LST adjustments and significant defoliation. Made a little collage to show the training I did. Day 58: Tried to colour correct photos. Any good? Day 60: Disaster! SOMETHING has gone horribly wrong! The Queen is unwell and now I shall try to figure out why. It seems like heat stress but I don't get how. Alright I think it is heat stress but I am not sure how, the temp hasn't gone above 26 degrees to my knowledge. Two things have changed this week first my house has been about 3 degrees warmer, and second I switched the main tent to 20 hours. I wonder if the additional time and the extra heat in the house has caused it to get too high. I have opened a flap at the side of her tent, and I am going to drop the light in the main tent down to 19h. As well as this I am now leaving a window open when the lights are on. Hopefully I can stop it getting worse but it is all over the plant. :( Okay soI think I have caused nute tox/shock - specifically I think what happened was an accidental big overdose of CalMag raising the EC too high. These symptoms came on way too fast to be a simple deficiency or lock out, and the PH wasn't so far off as to cause these issues. I've treble checked and the temp hasn't exceeded 26 degrees, nor dropped below 17. I flushed her through with PH water today approx 40 litres - until runoff was clear and correct PH. I am not going to nute her for a day or two. Day 62: I have ordered the queen a new tent. 75 x 75 x 200. She's still asleep at the moment but I'll photo her later. She's really taken a hammering from, what I now believe is, nutrient toxicity. Day 62: Her majesty is looking much revived compared with the last few days. I THINK she will be ok. I've made a video assessing the damage. Ouch. Sorry your majesty, please not off with my head! Day 63: Alright I have a new tent for her majesty arriving next week and I've new airflow for the main tent. She seems to have recovered from the burn and is stretching again. End of week summary: First big mistake and first serious issues for Citronella. Sorry about that. However she has now recovered and is growing again. I cannot undo the damage but I think I have halted any further damage. Let's see what happens next week.

Hello growmies, unfortunately Queen Citronella has taken ill. I think it is heat stress, but I wanted a second opinion so here I am.

Hello and welcome to week 10. We join Queen Citronella after a week of high drama at the palace. She was poisoned! Dun dun duhhhhh. The royal food taster has already been executed, but her majesty is displeased still and on the warpath. She has recovered, much scabbed on her skin, but her new growth is coming in healthy. Lets see how week 10 goes for her royal highness. She and I will see you tomorrow. Day 64: Fertigated 5l. Day 65: Fertigated 5l. Her majesty have grown 2cm to 50cm. Day 67: Height 52cm. Not much of a stretch here now. Unsure what the prognosis is. For the first time today she smells like super lemon haze. Day 68: Fertigated 5l. Day 69: Nothing to report Day 70: Her majesty has recovered well from the serious nutrient toxcitiy I subjected her to for 2 days. However I do think I have given the plant a fairly big setback. I wonder if her stretch is already over. That would honestly suit me perfectly well for this grow. Her tent is too small for her.

Well hello there! Long time no see strangers! Me and the ladies have successfully moved house, hence the disruption. I've finally found time to update diaries. We left Queen Citronella on day 70, the end of week 10. We pick up today on day 94, the 2nd day of week 13. She has been neglected badly. Fertigated on day 70, then next fertigated on day 80 (10l), 83 (6l), and 94 (10l). Consequently she has lost a lot of leaves and bud development is way behind. She is frail now. However the once saving grace is the smell. She is rhe perfect Super Lemon Haze smell and crazy strong. As of next Tuesday I should have Internet and a better camera. Expect regular service to be resumed next week. Until then! Happy growing!

Hello all! I am finally back online and so here is a proper update for the Queen! Citronella has suffered terribly during the house move and following weeks, a few days ago I took her lower third off and defoliated and removed underdeveloped nodes. I dried the popcorn I took off during this process and got 12g (dry). The rest I am leaving on her and hoping and praying those buds swell. The smell is absolutely the greatest thing ever, she is stunningly pungent - even the quick dried popcorn is really beautiful to smoke - so whatever I get from her, whatever little it will be, I will certainly enjoy. Anyway she is now being taken care of a bit more regularly and properly and moving forward until harvest I expect this to continue. Day 109: Fertigated 10l Day 111: The queen is maturing, but I am not sure her buds are going to get much fatter at this point. She is already struggling to hold them up, they must be really dense if they are so heavy this small. I am really at a disappointed stage with this grow, and I must do better next time I grow this strain. I am not impressed with this LED light, I think I need to grow a full tent under my better light and see how they do. Anyway she is trundling along and I don't think too far from the inevitably disappointing harvest.

Day 120: Hello all, welcome to week 18 day 1 for Queen Citronella. She has been abused in recent weeks and is much the worse for wear, she is about 1-2% amber right now and I expect her to be ready for the chop within a week or two. I am not expecting a massive harvest but I am expecting some world class weed. The buds must be denser than the look because she is struggling to hold them up.

Hello growmies! Welcome to week 19 for Queen Citronella, this Super Lemon Haze by Green House Seeds. Planted as a Christmas gift to myself on 25th December 2022 it is now 1st May 2023 and we are on day 128. This it turns out was Citronella's last day living! The smell, oh god the smell, it's just the best. I will update the harvest when she has dried. I tend not to bother with wet weights as I don't really see what the point is, but I can tell you there is absolutely more than 500g here for sure. I am expecting 150-200g when dry. I accidentally dropped one of the smaller branches and it made an extremely satisfying "thud" when it landed.

Hello and welcome to the harvest for Queen Citronella, this Super Lemon Haze by Green House Seed Co. I will put more detail into the smoke report which will follow, but ultimately I am happy with the grow. It has been a learning experience for sure, and I am 100% going to grow this strain again, but even with the problems and changes of plan in this grow, she has still yielded about 3oz. Until next time Super Lemon Haze out.
