Doing a little pheno hunt of 3 Sky Lotus and 11 Cherry Lotus seeds. I am thinking about taking a male I like the best out of the bunch and hitting some of the lowers to make some F2s and a cross of Sky lotus x Cherry Lotus or vice versa (depends on the male I select), I will probably end up selecting a female or two to keep around and skip all the pollen and male stuff. I have 2 weeks to figure it out. I loved the Sky Lotus when I grew it last time. I am hoping to get at least 1 female, but particularly one that has a berry flavor. The effects, flavor, and terps on the berry Sky Lotus was phenomenal and I am still talking about it haha. I had 6 but only 3 made it passed germ. Old seeds and it's possible it got a little too hot with the heating pad. Cherry Lotus I haven't had before, so I'm excited to see what turns out. 11/12 popped. 1 looked like it wasn't going to pop no matter what, different color and when I manually cracked it, it was brownish black. These will be flipped to flower in a couple days, I just transplanted them yesterday from a solo cup. I am running them in 1 gallon coco using botanicare nutrients. EC 1.3-1.4 - Cal-mag 160-180 PPMs, grow 420-480 PH 5.75-6.1 Every couple days I throw in some Armor Si and liquid karma. These and the Amnesia Haze I have in my flower tent are my first try at Coco, so I don't envision this grow to be perfect. I'm feeding it like DWC, just a little more cal-mag. Since I am starting this late, I added some pics throughout veg. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F5 today. Looking good. Nice fat fan leaves. I took clones of everything, small defoliation to try and stop leaves from resting on each other. I had a slight P deficiency (blueish leaves, red petioles and stems) so I increased my feed to 750 PPMs. They are all looking better now. I will probably need to increase my feed in the next few days. I feed Silica, Karma, and root beneficials every other day or so. I don't think that stuff is needed every feed. EC 1.5 - Cal-mag + Water = 200-210 PPMS (EC .4). Bloom nutrients EC 1-1.1 PH 5.85-6. I'm watering once a day. I hope I don't run into issues with small pots later in flower. Culled 2 males. Most are showing sex. I am planning on pollinating some of the lowers with the back left plant (Sky Lotus Male). The stem rub is very strong and it has a great structure and good vigor. The tape measure (8") is from F2. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F14 today. I lowered the cal-mag and increased the P and the blueing on the leaves has gotten better in almost all the plants. I think I was using too much cal-mag and locking out the P slightly. EC 1.55-1.6 - Cal-mag 120-130 PPMs, Bloom 530-570 PPMs, Hydroplex 20-30 PPMs, 50 PPMs water, plus the occasional 10-20 PPM of silica. PH 5.8-5.95 Defoliation today. My Sky Lotus male is starting to swell. I plan to collect some pollen soon and make some F2s and some Cherry Lotus x Sky Lotus F1s. I picked the 2 Cherry Lotus plants with different leaf structures so if I ever do pop these, I will get a little more variety to hunt through. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F21. Did a defoliation F14 and have been trying to remove some fan leaves here and there. Looking at last weeks pics, wow the male got huge. I did a small pollination on the Amnesia Haze. I am planning to pollinate the other 3 plants in the tent with male soon. I am waiting for the Cherry Lotus plants to get a little more bud development before I hit it with pollen. Still watering once a day. EC 1.55-1.6 - As I mentioned last week, they are looking much better since I lowered the cal-mag about 10-15%. I stopped feeding silica a couple days ago and the karma I add every couple days.; PH 5.8-5.95 Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F28. I pollinated the Sky lotus and 2 cherry lotus plants on F21. I probably should have waited a few more days for more bud sites, but I wanted to get the male out of the tent. Next time I will collect the pollen and wait. I should still have 100's of seeds off each plant. It should take about 42 days for the seeds to mature., so I will play it by ear and pull the seeded plants F63-F70. 1 gallon coco EC 1.55-1.6 - lowered cal-mag slightly, increased hydroplex a touch. No more silica and liquid karma 2-3 times a week. PH 5.8-6.0 I started watering twice a day on F26. They looked happy, but the coco pots started to get a little light, so my 2nd feed I don't water until runoff, just enough to keep them happy. I really like the structure of Cherry Lotus 1. CL 9 has thinner leaves and is probably the most different of the bunch. Don't mind the plant in the DWC, that's a clone only strain from out west. It is going to outgrow it's corner soon, so I have to figure out where I am putting it. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F35. I've been lowering my cal-mag every 4-5 days when I make a new batch of nutrients. I'm down to about 100 PPMs of cal-mag. Watering once or twice a day if I can get in there a second time. 1st time I get runoff, the 2nd is a little water to keep the coco moist until the next morning. I made the flood and drain table and haven't hooked up the pumps yet... maybe next grow haha. EC 1.5-1.6 PH 5.8-6.0 The pollinated tent is looking great. I tried to leave the tops of the Cherry Lotuses unpollinated so I can sample some, but the side branching is seeded up good. The Skywalker definitely got the most pollen. One of the cherry lotuses has large thin fan leaves. The rest of the plants are pretty similar in leaf size. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! 🚀🚀

F41 today. Watering once or twice a day depending on my schedule. At least 1 good water until runoff each day. They look a little burnt on the tips and darker leaves, so I brought the EC down by .1-.2 by reducing the cal-mag to EC .05 and will soon take it out completely. EC 1.4 PH 5.8-6.0 Some fruity, sweet smells, some musk funky stuff. I have a couple that are front runners to be run again soon. I pollinated the small tent 3 weeks ago, so about 3 weeks left on those and the others will be harvested when they look done. Just a note: I had a power outage during the dark period for 3-4 hours. Temps went to the mid 50s and I don't know how high the humidity got. It didn't seem to bother them and no signs of WPM. Happy New Year! 🚀🚀

F49. The seeded plants are having some problems. 2-3 more weeks. I checked the runoff and it was low on the SL, so I'm going to give it a good flush with some 5.8 feed. Edit a couple days later: PH run off was low (5.0-5.2) so I flushed them. PH is closer to 5.8 now. I think it was low ph locking out some micros. The new growth is looking better. decreasing feed to EC 1.0 for seeded plants and 1.2 for the others. Only 1 of the cherry lotuses in the big tent had low PH run off. The others are bulking up nicely. My favorite plant is the tallest one with the loose bud structure. The structure and smell reminds me of the Sky lotus I grew last year. I thought it was the blueberry in the Skywalker pushing out those terps, but maybe it is the snow lotus. 3-4 weeks left. EC 1.4 PH 5.8-6.0 Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F55. I lowered the EC to 1.0-1.1 and started watering much heavier. The seeded plants are looking a bit better. Seems flushing them, lowering the feed and light intensity is helping. I really like the structure of the 1 seeded cherry lotus, so when I pop these seeds, I will search those first. I am going to give the seeded plants another 7-10 days, so it will be 42-45 days since pollination. That will give me Sky Lotus F2's and Cherry Lotus x Sky Lotus seeds. I recently harvested my Ethiopian Flame and I have about 50-60 Ethiopian Flame x Sky Lotus seeds that all passed the crush test. And I have the Amnesia Haze x Sky lotus finishing up. That will probably be a few hundred seeds because I hit it with a lot of pollen So lots of seeds and crosses to play with. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F62. I am harvesting the seeded plants in a couple days. Tomorrow will be 42 days since pollination. I added a pic of the Amnesia Haze I still have cooking that got hit with the Sky Lotus pollen. The sky lotus male and female both have great structure and flowered fast. I think that with the structure of the Cherry Lotus in the back right is going to have some great plants. As I mentioned the last couple weeks, I am not sure what happened with the seeded plants, but maybe it was nutrient lockout of micros. They were getting the same feed as the others. I turned the light down, reduced the feed slightly, flushed the substrate to get the PH closer to 5.8. The other plants look like they need another 2-3 weeks. I have the sky lotus and the foxtaily looking plant in 7 gallon soil and I will be flowering once I have some tent space to free up. I am not a fan of the foxtail structure, but I have a feeling it will be a great smoke. It is vigorous in veg and stretched the most in flower. EC 1.0 PH 5.8-6.0 Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F69. Harvested the seeded plants, they are hanging. I sampled one of the cherry lotus buds but I stopped going in the dry tent because I could hear seeds hitting the floor when I grabbed a bud. So patience. Added a pic of seeds from one of the Cherry Lotuses. Still watering once a day until runoff. EC .7-.8 PH 6.0-6.2 The fungus gnats are annoying me. I added extra SLF-100 today (5ml/gal) as it is has Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) (same thing as mosquito bits). Supposed to kill the larva. Next day I only saw a couple gnats, so it is safe to say the SLF + sticky traps worked well. The Bt is supposed to take a couple days to work, but the larva stop feeding within hours once infected with the Bt spores. I will give it another application in 2 days. Figure it will need a couple treatments, plus it will help break down any excess salts in the medium. The front plant looks a little pissed at the light intensity, but meh it only has a few days left. Soon I will be able to get rid of the stand and my next plants will have more room vertically. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

**Harvested a couple weeks ago. Will update smoke report when the soil plants are done flowering. F76. Harvest around the corner. Pulled the front plant on F75. This will be my last update until harvest. I've been running my tent around 82 this run and they foxtailed, so next time I run the seeds I will keep the temps lower (76-78) and see if that helps. I harvested and collected the seeds from the pollinated plants. I did very well, about 1.7k Sky Lotus F2's and the 2 Cherry Lotus plants produced about 900 seeds and 1.8-1.9k each. I still have to do the Amnesia x Sky lotus but it is full of seeds so my guess is 1.5k+. Looks like I lowered the feed a little early and I am seeing some K deficiency. Added some pics of the sky lotus female I f2'd and one of the cherry lotuses. I am running them in 7 gallon soil. Those are at F2. EC .8-.9 PH 5.8-6.1 Have a good week! 🚀🚀

Cherry Lotus 1: This is my favorite one to smoke. It enhances sound unlike any other strain I've ever smoked. It isn't quite like mushies, but music just sounds better. I put my headphones on and it had me dancing on the treadmill. Great strain for working out. It's motivating, puts me in a good mood, I really love it. "Got me moving around, feeling good." Smell: Mostly sour cherries and musk and the flavors translates to the pipe. This one foxtailed pretty good on me. I had some problems with heat. All 3 had some foxtailing, but this one was the worse. My temps were 80-83 and 50-60% humidity. I am running it again in soil and keeping the temps 75-78f 45-55% humidity and the buds look much better. Picture of soil plant is in harvest pics. This plant had thinner leaves than the others and stretched more. The bud structure isn't as dense or uniform like the other 4 plants, but I think that had a lot to do with the heat. Harvested F75. Cherry Lotus 2: This is my 2nd favorite one. Probably the "loudest" of the 3. Large nugs, frosty, easy to grow. Uplifting, music sounds better. Excellent smoke to share with a friend. It gets me pretty stoned. Smell: Sweet Cherry upfront, then hit with stinky BO. Surprisingly good smelling BO. Cherry and wood coat the mouth when smoking. Large fan leaves, big colas, large nugs. They weren't very dense which is great for their size, no worries for mold. This stretched the least, but was very similar to Cherry Lotus 3 and one of the Cherry Lotuses I seeded. Harvested F77. Cherry Lotus 3: The largest of the bunch. More sedating of a smoke. This is my choice for Netflix or movies (well 1 is great for that too). Provides headache relief, relaxing, stoney but not brain dead. I am able to smoke it all day and not be too tired. It doesn't boost my mood like the others, more tranquil. It grew very similar to #2, but was larger. Smell: Sweet and fruity. More Melon (cantaloupe) than cherry. Basil and some spices. Not quite musk. I am getting some of this bud out to people with better noses and I will update with their comments later. Harvested F80. The other 2 plants were seeded by a Sky Lotus male. Plant 4 had a large cola and structured like #'s 2 and 3. Plant 5 was shorter and stockier. It didn't look like any of the other 4 females. I yielded about 1.8k seeds off the large cola plant (in harvest pics) and about 1k from the smaller one. I'm hoping to get to my own seeds sometime this fall. There were a couple nice looking males out of this bunch too. 1 or two were huge and I almost picked it over the Sky Lotus, but I really wanted the Sky Lotus F2's and the Sky lotus male was structured more uniform, faster flowering, and a few other reasons. Here are some comments from friends: "My whole room smells like cherry candy. It's crazy how strong the cherry is, love it." Thanks for reading along and have a good day. 🚀🚀🚀
