Gruenerfinger85 We have reached the 2nd week of flowering, and something has changed. 4 out of 14 plants have started producing flowers, one is even a bit ahead of all the others because at the beginning I didn't have enough space, so I had to put one plant with others that had a light cycle of 12/12. The others started flowering a week later. Not all 14 are together. 6 are with the Glue Gelato, Skywalker Haze, and Mokum’s Tulip. Hopefully, I can finally send these 6 into flowering in 10 days along with those that are already in bloom; I'm waiting for the other 3 beauties to finish. I topped the 6 girls that are still in growth 2 days ago, and I applied Fimming to one, otherwise, I'm not giving my beauties any further training, just defoliating, nothing more. One looked a bit sad before the training, but apparently, it did her good because she’s standing tall and no longer drooping. Otherwise, I trimmed and defoliated a bit more of the lower branches and stems; I want to try to prevent the plants from producing popcorn buds. I'm curious to see how the further life cycle of my little beauties progresses. It's also an experiment to see how much yield is possible in small pots; maybe I'll try a SOG on the next grow, we'll see. 2 plants had a little Cal-Mag issue, but I managed to get that under control pretty quickly. Gruenerfinger85 We're leaving the 3rd week of flowering behind us and moving into the 4th week. In the third week, one or two beauties have stretched and reached for the light. You can clearly see in the pictures how the buds are developing, and the first stigmas are showing. Not all plants are at the same developmental stage; 6 are in the 4th week of flowering, while the rest are in the 2nd week of flowering. This run is a bit chaotic, and I apologize for that. The larger clones are from the first run, and the others are from this second run. I really wanted to grow this strain a second time to have a comparison between the first and second runs. I’ll probably need to spread some plants around to avoid competition. There have been no signs of deficiencies or anything like that. I think all the ladies are happy, even though the grow room is so packed. I'll check in again as soon as something comes up, possibly next week. I wish everyone a successful week and big buds.

Gruenerfinger85 This week I’m a little worried. At first, I thought the plants had nutrient excess, but now I know it's a potassium deficiency, which is rare in soil but can occasionally occur during the flowering stage. I will add potassium during the next feeding. Since it’s so cold outside, the humidity is very low; in the grow room, I had a humidity level of 10% for two days. This is what caused the potassium issue. Right now, the humidity is at 30% because I watered the plants. I ordered a humidifier because I don’t want to risk my plants being exposed to low humidity again. We’ll see if we can get the problem under control in the next few days. I’ll keep you updated on whether my suspicion is correct and if my measures are effective. Otherwise, thank you for reading and your support.

Gruenerfinger85 The 6th week of flowering went by without any visible problems at first. When it was -5 degrees Celsius for several days in a row, the problems slowly started to arise. I noticed that my plants are suffering from a molybdenum deficiency, which occurs when it gets too cold in the root area. Also, due to the cold, the humidity was way too low. For this reason, I got myself a fogger to counteract that. The next thing I'm going to get is a heating mat for the root area. The temperature is back to normal now, but I'd rather be safe and get a heating mat now than wait until the temperatures drop below zero again and the plants suffer serious damage that they can't recover from. I think this time I was still lucky in misfortune, but I don't want to tempt fate. Yesterday, I started flushing 4 out of a total of 15 plants. You might be wondering why not all? That's because 11 out of 15 plants were sent into flowering 2 weeks later; somehow, I missed that back then. The plants that have been in flowering for 2 weeks longer show no signs of molybdenum deficiency; my suspicion is because they aren't right by the door. However, these did show slight signs of Cal-Mag deficiency. I hope the problems are resolved, that the plants haven't suffered any lasting damage, and that they recover from the recent stresses. Gruenerfinger85 Hello my loyal readers, I'm checking in at the end of week 7 of flowering. To be honest, I'm glad when this run is over; everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with this grow. At the beginning, everything looked great until the temperatures went crazy, the pH meter broke, and for some reason, the EC value was no longer the same even though I didn't change anything in the feeding schedule. This caused a lot of chaos, and my little beauties were affected, but luckily all the plants have more or less recovered well from the stress. On day 47, I flushed for the second time; I think I still need to wait 14 days for everyone to reach the right ripeness stage. Many trichomes are cloudy or even amber, but still too few. I've even seen some buds that are still glassy, which isn't enough for me, so I'm waiting a bit longer. I hope the beauties have a little more patience because they really look rough. Fortunately, RQS has produced a good stable strain with Skunk XL; I have to say this strain is abnormally resistant to any stress and pests. Gruenerfinger85 Hey hey dear Grow community. We have reached the middle of week 8 of flowering. Today I checked the trichome heads and noticed that the girls will need at least another week to be how I want them. It's hard to be patient at the end; I'm always playing with the scissors in my mind and would love to harvest my ladies. I'm afraid something will go wrong at the end because I've noticed that the ladies are looking a bit droopy now; some leaves have turned purple, and I'm not quite sure if that's normal or if it's a deficiency. I don't want the quality to suffer at the end, so I've decided to harvest 2 plants now, and the other 2 only when I have the right ratio of trichome heads. I'll see in the end if it was the right decision to harvest them now or if I worried for no reason. I want to have 15% of the trichomes amber. I'll have to keep myself in check so the little ones can grow for another week. I'm actually satisfied with this run; everything would have been perfect if we hadn't had a week where the temperature dropped so rapidly. It annoys me because this problem has to happen at the end, just like last run with this strain when the dehumidifier fell into the plant, which significantly reduced the quality. Gruenerfinger85 In the last week, the color of the leaves changed. Normally, the leaves look like it's autumn, but this time the leaves turned purple, so I wasn't sure if the plant was purpling or if it was a deficiency. That's why I moved the harvest date up by a week. Hopefully, I minimized the risk of getting a poor yield. I didn't record the wet weight this time since it's not that important to me in this run. I noticed that the buds are much denser than in the previous grow. In a week, the rest of my Skunk XL clones will be harvested, and then I won't have any more for now, and I'll focus on other strains. I really enjoyed growing this strain; my goal in this grow wasn't to achieve a high THC content but simply to grow an old-school strain. Skunk is just one of those old-school strains that you can't miss.
