This is going to be a test round to test out coco and also to test out a few autos, both for the first time, with the current round of photos. The media is going to a mix of 70% coco and 30% perlite. If I like growing these in the coco, I will be able to grow all year, dwc in the fall/winter and coco in the spring/summer.
*UPDATE* 8-16
Started to germinate a Kush Mass and also a Monster Cookies. They will be in paper towels till they show tap root, then placed into solo cup of coco.
*UPDATE* 8-19
The Kush Mass popped its tap root out today, still waiting on the Monster Cookies to pop hers. The KM went into a 1 gallon or a 1.5 gallon pot,im not to keen on pot sizes and there's no markings indicating what size it is.
Ended up putting the Monster Cookies in a pop of coco to see what happens, after inspecting the seed it looks like it has something wrong with it, figures.
8-22
This is the survivor out of the 2 autos that I germinated. So far she's going good.
8-26
Im thinking I should probably preemptively strike with some extra cal/mag or Epsom salt, I have a feeling this one might end up like the other 1 if I don't. I don't think I precharged the coco enough, but we'll see. Damn internet, can't get solid, good, reliable information on growing. It's hard to sift through all the info and get any answers, even to simple problems. I guess learn by doing
8-28
She's finally moving along! And looking healthy so far. I'm thinking of moving away from my tap water over to RO water. My tap water wasn't too bad, but recently our town has been having some issues with the water and so it used to be 120-130 ppm without any chlorine, but now it's up around 250+ppm and they are going to start adding chlorine. I was thinking of getting an RO system anyway for my drinking water, so it'll benefit me in more then one way. Just need to decide on one...
9-1
Fed today, still looking healthy I think. It seems she's a slow grower, hopefully she picks up a bit soon. Tomorrow I'm going to be transplanting her in to a 5gal fabric pot, hopefully it doesn't stress her to much, but we'll see.
9-5
Transplanted into 5gal fabric pot. She seems to be taking her sweet time, she's only 6-7 days younger then her siblings(the two Criminal+) and she seems to be falling behind a bit.
5-9
Looking good on the start of this week, no deficiencies to report, looking healthy. Should start to grow a bit more now that she should be acclimated to her new home.
9-11
She looks good and healthy. The photos are definitely at least 2x the size of this auto. I don't know if it's something I did or she's just slower than the others. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
9-9&9-11
Seems to be doing good and looking healthy, but still seems to be taking her time growing out. I've been feeding her @900ppm(200ppm start) at 5.8ph around 1-1.5liters of water.
9-13
Looks to have decided to grow a bit finally and looks healthy. Eventually I'm going to switch to RO water, within the next week.
9-16
Checked her in the normal light and she's looking pretty dark green, emerald green even. So I flushed her and the other 2. In my research I've read that checking the runoff ppm/ex is pretty pointless and others say to keep an eye on it and if it gets to be really high you'll run into problems. I checked it yesterday and it was around 4k ppms, wtf! That was also one of the reasons for flushing.
9-18
So after a week, this auto is definitely slow, stubborn, or stunted. Maybe this is is a dud seed, I don't know, but it's not making a good impression on me as far as autos go. I will probably grow out what I have, and maybe try a different breeder of autos. I just hope she picks up a bit and maybe the next ones will be better.
9-21
I dropped her feed down to around 500-600,and she's been responding well. Fingers crossed!
9-23
Shes been looking alot better, definitely putting out some new growth and seems healthy. Again, fed with the wrong ph, she will also get the flush tomorrows feeding.
9-24 & 9-25
The past few days I've been lst the crap out of this Kush Mass. I'm trying to get her to grow in two directions only and fill up the perimeter of my light footprint. Looking healthy since I cut her feed down to around 500. I figured she would have started to flower by now, but since it's the first auto I've tried, I'm in unknown territory now.
9-30
Looking healthy, slowly moving along. Being fed @5.8-6.0ph around 1.3-1.6ec. Maybe lower feed even lower to about 1.0ec and see if that changes anything.
10-02
I set the light schedule to 12/12 on 9-27 to see if my "auto" is really an auto or not. She's still lacking in size compared to her sister's, but since she's on the edge of the lights foot print, it's kinda expected.
10-06
As I thought, my auto is not an auto. When I flipped them over it started to flower with my photos. Now, it could have been coincidence, but I doubt it. Started using Jack's Hydroponic and Calnit @ 3g/gal and 1.7g/gal calnit and 1g/gal epsoms. I will use through out flower and if it works, I'll continue to use all the time.
10-08
Looking healthy going into week 9, week 2 of flower. This little girl has been slower and smaller then her siblings this whole grow, but hopefully she will turn out OK.
10-10
Flower sites starting to show some activity. Still healthy, no signs of deficiency or anything like that. Feeding about 3/4 of a gallon, @550-750ppm, ph 6.0-6.2.
10-12
Streching is starting to slow, should start to see flower production kick up a bit soon.
10-14
Feeding @6.0ph,600-700ppm(1.2-1.4ec),3/4gal(3L). Healthy, a bit darker green than I'd like, but she'll be fine I believe. Flowers are coming in good.
10-15
Still looking very small overall, especially the buds. I probably should have culled this one earlier in its life, but we'll see what comes of it.
10-17
Compared to her sisters, she's not doing well. I don't think she's even growing anymore. The buds aren't getting any bigger, and thinking about it, I don't think she even went though her flowering stretch. Hmm....
10-20
Still looking sad, I guess I'll just let it go and do it's thing, and hopefully it produces something.
10-22
Buds look to be getting a bit bigger, but still looks like it's still like the second week of flower, even though it's week 4!
10-24
Week 5 of flower, looks like week 2. Still small overall, buds not doing much of anything.
10-28
Not doing much. So far this auto hasn't given me high hopes for the rest of the autos I have left to pop at some point. I don't know if it was something I did or if it was just bad luck out of the pack.
10-29
Seems like bud sites are trying to come together and put something out. I've been giving her reduced feed to see if that helps her bounce back a bit, after this week I'll increase the feed gradually.
10-31
Things are starting to take off now it seems, buds getting a bit bigger everyday. Maybe she will decide to do something other than take up nutes and space.
11-02
Chuga Chuga Choo Choo, stil kinda chugging along. I hope this little girl will finish OK, she seems to be putting up a fighting effort.
11-05
Still falling behind, I haven't really been paying much attention to this Lil runt girl, but I'm still feeding her and semi attending to her
11-08
She seems to be coming along a bit more, buds developing slowly Bure surely, smell is getting stronger. Still a bit dark in color but she's been a weird one the whole time.
11-11
Flushed 11-09, still struggling to fully form but she's trying!
11-17
Ive forgotten about the updates for this lady this week, but will resume. I've decided to figure out a way to keep her flowering while I cut down her other step sisters. I believe I can get a bit more weight out of her instead of taking her down really early.
11-19
Seems that she's starting to try and put some weight on. She's definitely not giving up without trying, which is good, not a total waste of resources.
Ended up with almost 2 ounces. I guess it's not that bad, I knew she wouldn't produce much. She'll mainly be used in either some edibles or pressed into rosin. Kinda ruined my first auto experience, but the next time should be better, I hope. 0
