Worrying about if it was wrong to plant the seeds 2cm deep inside the growing medium, it’s my first time growing with hydroponics. Hoping they germinate
Update: They germinated on day 5, very very happy about that
They had an hour drive roadtrip today, I hope they didn't get stressed. Moved them to their new home where they are under a 825W Gavita HPS. Today I stopped the Botanium's nutrients and started the Advanced Nutrient's PH Perfect Micro/Grow/Bloom, 1ml of each, inside their 1lt tank. Overall so far they look really healthy, happy, and smell good.
This is basically an attempt to grow weed the easiest way possible... I started this grow under my desk with fluorescent tubes ducktaped on it... It's also an experiment to see if it's possible to grow Cannabis with a Botanium.
This is an almost completely automatic grow using a simple automatic hydroponic system pot that has an inside timer and waters the plants every 3 hours, and they also claim that it's impossible to overwater the plant with this system. Let's see through this test...
The capacity of the pot is kinda small to grow a big juicy tree, so I'm trying to get just a few nugs the simplest way possible...
The strain is Green-O-Matic which is one of the smallest cannabis strains ever bred. It consists of some really interesting parents which are White Dwarf, Low Rider, a short Moroccan landrace and a short Ruderalis landrace
I hope you enjoy this simple experiment...
Refilled the Botaniums today, 7 days after the previous fill, as I saw they were completely empty. One of the plants is starting to show a tiny bit of weird coloring on some leaves and the texture of the leaves is also a bit strange. The other plant looks completely healthy.
I trimmed a few leaves. One plant looks super healthy and has already started flowering, the other plant looks like it has some weird features which I believe is a cause of genetics and not a deficiency or overwatering etc.
Both plants are the same strain Green-O-Matic, but they have different phenotypes, and although they are the same height, one has just started flowering, the other plant is a week ahead on flowering.
The plants grew bigger than I expected. I hope the capacity of the botanium is enough to carry a succulent plant.
I'm refilling the botanium every 3-4 days as it seems that the plants are drinking all of the water fast.
The plants both got way taller than I was expecting when I got Green-O-Matic. The plant on the right is a week ahead on flowering and has a beautiful lemony smell. They showed some roots coming out under the pots, I cut these roots out as it's recommended by the Botanium makers to do so...
The girls look healthy, happy, and smell delicious, kinda sweet citrusy. I'm overall satisfied so far. They have some crystals forming on them as well. I feel like it's gonna be a successful grow. But don't think I'm gonna use Green-O-Matic again, it's not as short as I wanted it to be, and it has unstable phenotype. I hope the effects are nice and relaxing though.
The plant on the left is starting to show some burn marks on it's leaves for some reason I don't know, the plant on the right looks better but the leaves are starting to yellow a bit as well. They both smell pretty nice. The flowers look a bit as if they have foxtailed, but they haven't, this is just the way Green-O-Matic flowers are, they have some landrace-like characteristics. Although I believe if the pot capacity was bigger, the plants would be better for sure. It would be nice if the Botanium company ever made a larger version of their pot.
The plants both died today. I guess they either finished, or they couldn't last longer in the Botanium. They look pretty good overall, I like the crystals they have. They have a spicy smell. The first plant has pretty small buds, the second plant has pretty big buds, although it looks like a foxtail, but I believe it's the usual characteristics of the specific strain by what I've seen from others. I would had trimmed the second plant alive as well, but I didn't have time, I had to leave immediately, so I trimmed it with the automatic shredder machine and hanged it quickly... Actually the first plant died a day before, the second plant died the day after.
It was the easiest grow I ever did as basically all I had to do was fill up the Botaniums every 5 days. The buds have a sweet and spicy taste and smell, and are full of crystals, yet they look really foxtailed, I believe due to the combination of the strain's genetics and them being in a pot with such small capacity.
This was a simple attempt to see if it's possible to grow cannabis with a Botanium automatic hydroponic system pot.

I believe it's true because I never noticed the plants being overwatered...

The strain is Green-O-Matic which is one of the smallest and fastest growing cannabis strains ever bred. It consists of some really interesting parents which are White Dwarf, Low Rider, a short Moroccan landrace and a short Ruderalis landrace. Although I saw that the strain has unbalanced phenotypes and also they both grew way taller than I was expecting.
The plants have small buds full of crystals and smell sweet and spicy. I just tried a small bowl as I'm writing this and I can say that it brings a euphoric, peaceful, and relaxing effect. It's a nice uplifting and chill feeling. The taste of the bowl was pretty clean and kinda sweet and spicy, but smell and taste are not important right now because they haven't cured at all yet.
It took exactly 2 months to grow these plants, and I enjoyed the easy process, and was pretty satisfied with the results. Although not the greatest looking buds, they are still pretty good considering it only took 2 months to grow and with almost none maintenance. The lamp was turning on/off automatically, all I had to do was fill up the Botaniums every 5 days.
So for your question, is it possible to grow a cannabis plant in a Botanium? The answer is yes, but don't expect to grow the thickest buds.
Hope you enjoyed this simple experiment! Cheers!
Update: I wish I could edit the stars and give it 1 more star up, because I'll be honest, it feels like the cleanest weed I've ever smoked, I've never felt a cleaner effect from bud before, honestly, it feels as clean as a dab. And beautifully euphoric and relaxing. Awesome wow
