Hello there! Here I am, on the verge of a new adventure. To be honest I’m a bit nervous about growing in coco. For me it seems like rocket science after growing in completely pre-amended soil. No worries for PH, no worries for feeding. With this grow I want to learn and develop as a grower. Best hobby ever! 25/11 - mimosa has showed her root and was planted 26/11 - mimosa popped out of the coco 27/11- Cookies was not showing any signs of life so i used a sharp knife to pry open the shell. 28/11 - cookies also showed a small root so decided to plant asap so it wont develop any rot because the seed was so long in the wet towel. All speed ahead! Wish me luck. Upd1: 01/12 - cookies didnt rise, so i was curious to check whats going on with the seed. Turned out she was growing in the opposite direction. Roots sideways and leaves straight-down. Dug her up and turned the right way. Cant really estimate her chances cuz i dont have enough experience. If she dies she dies. Will start purple punch in this case. Upd2: 10 hours after digging cookies out she turned green and starting to turn to the light and stretch. Hope she makes it to harvest. It would be nice knowing i saved her life twice.

Week one is over. To be honest I dont know what is going on and what am i doing wrong. Will start posting questions. Mimosa is yellowing and i dont understand why. I thought maybe it is lack of nutes, tried to gove 1/4 of recommended fish mix dose. No effect at all. Will update follow up with updates Mimosa: 05/12 - gave 0.5ml/l (25% of recommended) fish mix to mimosa, seems indeed she lacks nutes from the start. 06/12 - gave 1ml/l (50% of recommended) fish mix to mimosa, monitoring 08/12 (day 12) - changed nutes, bought whole range of canna coco. Gave 0.9EC/PH5.8, which is around 1/3 of the recommended dosage. Looking for reaction. Cookies: Just spraying water and keeping her moist. She seems happy after i dug her out she turned healthy green 08/12 (day 8) - got the same solution 0.9EC/5.8PH Next week will be planting two more seeds in lightmix by biobizz and will be using their nutes in soil. Cheers

About after 5 days the leaves started yellowing and the plant keeps loosing its green color and becoming pale. My leftover nutes mix have changed PH overnight from 6.0 to 6.9. Is this a common thing? Should i let it sit overnight before correcting the ph and feeding?

Now that I've looked at your diary again, I can see you haven't been giving nutes - just root enhancers, etc... I'm starting to change my mind here and think she may actually NEED some nutes... 1/4 strength or so - see if it makes any difference. She may just be hungry! The "rule" about not giving nutes to autoflowers for the first couple of weeks is a general rule only - and rules are meant to be broken sometimes... especially if your plant is saying it doesn't LIKE the rules... try a small dose of your grow nutes - you can always flush them out if she doesn't like them! Good luck!

Bom dia, halo, shalom, vitayu! Entering week 3. Its seems that switching to coco specific nutrients has done magic, girls looking healthy and growing. Mimosa: 11/12 (day15): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) 14/12 (day18): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) 17/12 (day21): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) Cookies: 11/12 (day11): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) 14/12 (day14): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) 17/12 (day17): fed 1EC (half dose of coco A and coco B) I’m really enjoying the process, mixing the nutes, balancing PH, bringing the solution temperature to perfect 23degs feels almost meditative. Planted 2 more girls in Lightmix soil and will be feeding the organic nutes I got by mistake for this grow. Will start a diary as soon as they sprout. I dont have a germination heating mat and my place seems to be a little cold so i found a solution: i placed the box with the paper towels and seeds on top of my grow light’s driver. The seeds exploded in 24h. Day 21 update: Closing week 3. Mimosa is looking very healthy and strong. She is on her way to be massive. Cookies is a little short behind but is also looking good! Coco specific feeding is the answer. Cant be happier. Stay tuned! All the best :)

Merry Christmas y’all! Week 4 is behind Topped both Mimosa and Cookies, they took it like champs! They exploded immediately with side grow. Such a pleasure to watch them strive. Increased EC from under 1 to 1.5 and they are super happy with it. Probably will climb to 2 to see how they like it. Getting closer to preflower would completely flush till runout is even with water poured in and would start adding flowering boosters. Starting to like coco for the full control and immediate reaction to my actions and the chance to fix my screwups. A bit of a hustle to water every day tho :) Best wishes to you and your close ones! Peace.

Happy new year! Hope 2023 will bring us peace and prosperity! Week 5 is all about growth. Im amazed by Mimosa’s pace. Every morning I’m opening the tent to a bigger stronger plant. Had issues with much higher PH in runoff compared to input (6.5 vs 5.8) and thanks to Roberts and GrowingGrannie i came to solving the issue by increasing the EC. FYI - in coco coir: higher PH in runoff means girls are hungry and need to be fed. Lower PH - overfeeding. Learning everyday! Today (day 35) started seeing a little bit of yellow tips on top so reduced the ec to 1.75 and gave the 4 liter each with 25% runoff. I’m running out of space for mimosa, i was not expecting her to grow so much. Need to consider a 100*100 tent and a bigger light of course. But prolly will keep the existing setup and just stick to growing 1-2 plants at a time i/o 4 right now. Mimosa is preparing for flowering, started giving her Canna Boost and seeing white hairs all over, she confirmed she is a lady :) Cookies is a little behind in height but i believe she’ll catch up. Mr wolf now has a swing and can chill in the shade. Week 6 will start watering every day. Thanks you, growmies, for being the best community in the world. Love you! Peace. Ps How to get the diary in “recommended” Its seems that my first diary was exposed much more. Just curious how the algorithm works.

The top of the plant (new growth) is showing some unhealthy signs. The tips of the leaves are yellow and there are lighter green stripes on the leaves themselves. I googled and the signs match to a number of deficiencies, but i lack the experience to diagnose correctly. Plz help

You've got to have pretty eagle eyes to see that... you're worrying over nothing here! I would, though, be cutting back on the Canna A a bit as it's got a lot of nitrogen in it and since you're heading into flower, this might lead to some problems... the yellowing tips are just an indication that you're feeding them a little too heavily so knocking back on that would help there as well. But going forward, I don't think I've ever seen tips NOT turn a bit yellow and, unless they start to turn brown and the brown gets a lot bigger, you really have nothing to worry about! Cheers! And good luck!

My problem from the previous question is developing. The new leaves are yellowish and now they started twisting. PH is 5.8 in 6.0 out EC down from 2.0 to 1.75 the lower growth lack this problem, could be light burn? Was 20cm away (150w) Maybe its a deficiency i can’t understand

slight lack in iron. I checked your diary I see you use Calmag . Would switch to plant magic magne + . Or any other Calmag that also contains trace elements like iron/boron/zinc . Calmag +. I use Canna like yourself and found this rectified the problem .

Week 6ix behind All week been struggling to solve the “mystery of yellow top” And “the mystery of not flowering autos” Since both coco plants are not flowering in the same manner i ruled-out the possibility of them being genetically photos instead of autos. The possibility that i’d get 2 different strains to be with such a rare deviation is atomically small. For now have developed a plan and then decided to go a little sideways. First, reducing the EC to 1.3 stable instead of trying to push the plants to the limit. This means a little less that 1/2 of the recommended dosage by the producer. Second, going heavier on cal-mag Keep mimosa fed every day as she seems to devour everything and sit in a light pot. Another thought is iron deficiency but will see in due time if reducing EC and changing watering schedule doesnt help will go and find an iron supplement. And finally, if they dont flower i will switch them to 12/12 but this is last resort, i dont beleive they are photos. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and beating your powerful minds with me to find a solution. Special thanks to @growinggrannie Stay tuned

Long time no see! Week 12 has passed, the flowers are only now swollen and the pistils are browning a bit. We are far behind schedule but whatever. Mimosa is monstrously big. This is my second grow only, and im really impressed and a bit proud of myself. Growing in coco is a fucking full-time job. Since I dont have the time to babysit it and water all the time Im watering once every two days instead of watering twice a day, i beleive that even though Mimosa grew to be such a beautiful plant it is still far from its real full potential. Coco is a gift and a curse and the same time. Probably soil would be my medium of choice in the future. Cookies is far behind in development. I just hope to harvest 10-15g from her. She has had a rough life from the start. The seed wouldn’t germinate, then she grew upside down, and shes been strange ever since. Still feel blessed that i have the capacity to grow such a beautiful plant from seed to harvest. I beleive i have another two weeks with them and cant wait to cut them down

Hola amigo! Quizás una fertilización excesiva a causado este problema. Si es así le iría bien hacer una buena limpieza de raizes con abundante agua!!
