Not much more to say. After letting them dry out completely from the bottom, I packed the top with worm castings, and watered from above. The damage seems to be slowing down at least, but the buds will look kinda fucked up if they make it to harvest. I don't really want to pull them early but we'll see. My gut feeling is this is all due to one of two possibilities. Either A: using only straight compost and perlite didn't have enough drainage capability and just became waterlogged. Or B: there was a problem at the bottom of my pots with how I prepared them (I had used a layer of perlite instead of clay pebbles on the bottom), I'm thinking it's possible the roots grew out the bottom of the pot, clogged the holes, then died of root rot preventing optimal hydration of the rest of the plant.

Grow Questions

Am I on the right track to remedy my plant's issues? Seems like calcium deficiency to me. Soil test comes in at just under 6.5, my reservoir water going in is 7.3ph, in case its actually a lack of calcium and not the PH i've top dressed gypsum (and epsom salts).

That looks like nitrogen deficiency, mixed with a combo of PH issues and over or under watering. Flush that lady out with some good microbial tea with worm castings. That should get you back on track after a week and then nutes every other day with daily lower dose waterings. This is when they drink the most and it’s all about the watering amount and time. Good luck! ✌️💚🌿💨

@gottagrowsometime, appreciate the input, its a shame. Planning a bit smarter for my next one though, going to follow an actual soil recipe, coots mix maybe with less compost. Do you know why the compost causes this? I'm curious if its a nutrition issue or more of a structural one like not enough drainage. Why would these issues pop up after flowering and look perfectly healthy through veg?

Your issue is the compost. I had similar issues using straight compost at my 1st grow in my later stage of flowering. But my mix was 50-50 coco-compost. Good luck with your issues. Hope you can retrieve something from your grow.

@uktuk,it happens! Live and learn. Always a learning experience. Autos can be really finicky but I’m sure the Eddie’s were great

@WulfBlud, Good point, looking back yeah they weren't as good as I had convinced myself they looked lol. Thanks for your input 💪

@uktuk, They didn't really look that great during Veg. You see the burnt edges and the dark green waxy leaves and lack of stretch. I have the same problem with my current Meph Wedding grow but I was lucky that my soil was only borderline too hot so I was able to flush it and use refresh to get it back to a good state. My plants have recovered but with pure compost you really can't flush that out.

I'm running almost the same exact run as you are, autopots and all...I just finished top feeding today, I shut the reservoir off about 8 days ago, I let the pots soak up what was left in the trays and dry out a bit which was almost 4 days and then I top amended them with 50/50 all P and Power Bloom 3 Tsp per gallon i have the 4 gallon pots and I gave them 2L of water each in left the water of and in 5 days I repeated the watering .....Big Tip if you have the airdomes don't forget to shut them off when you shut off the reservoir I didn't and on day 5 I got a bit of funky smell in the tent and then I realized the air might have been killing the roots in the immediate area I shut the pump off and they should be fine...Going to let them acclimate tonight after watering and turn the reservoir back on in the am...

@uktuk, I've made a couple mistakes while on my indoor journeys, I have way more experience outdoor where things are very forgiving for some reason I'm going through a bit of clawing at the moment, so I changed a few variables to see if that helps..I will send good energy and vibes for great success and keep checking in as well...Good luck nice to see I have a companion crop on here, gives me some motivation...Good luck Kat

@Whiteybulger1814, oh right on man! gonna follow your grow and pray for good harvests for both of us lol. I don't have the airdomes for my system. In hindsight I probably should have waited a bit for the hand watering to dry up before turning on the system, but if they do show overwatering symptoms it shouldn't be for long before they spring back to normal.

Il problema è il terreno troppo carico di fertilizzanti, Sono bruciature da fertilizzanti... prova a fare flush anche se ormai mi sa che è troppo tardi... buona fortuna amico
