Agtonik / Protector of the Plants Review

Reviewing two different products during this grow. I do not work for either company. I am just a grower that offered to do a grow using their products and giving an honest review. I am not paid by either company and am doing this for my own curiosity and sharing it as I go. I'm always looking for new products that can help my personal grows, as well as being used in my family garden and even possibly in our small microgreens business. Products: AGT50 from AgTonik, agtonik.com AGT-50™️ Fulvic Trace Mineral Soil Amendment is a liquid-concentrate, prehistoric, trace mineral and organic acid complex harvested and manufactured in the USA. Liquid Culture Microbes from Protectors Of The Plants, protectorsoftheplants.com A liquid culture microbial solution consisting of beneficial bacteria and fungi for plant life. This started as a chat Future4200 with DaWizKid, and then later AgTonik. The idea is to do a simple grow, using 4 clones. Each clone will be given a different set of added items from the normal amounts of things that I would feed with. Plant 1 will be only given my normal feed, nothing extra. Plant 2 will be given my normal feed plus AGT-50. Plant 3 will be given my normal feed plus Liquid Culture Microbes. Plant 4 will be given my normal feed plus both AGT-50 and Liquid Culture Microbes. I WILL NOT be comparing each company against the other. That is not what I'm doing at all. I'm seeing how each product can enhance the growth and health of the plants. Including looking at the root balls at the end to see if root growth was changed at all. For that reason, the clones were planted deeper in the pots to keep a lower height. This way I have more growth time in the vegetative stage to observe the plants. And...I always like training them and having fun with the plants. Grow Media: 1 bag, 1.76cuft Tupur from Royal Gold 1 bag, 1cuft Earthworm castings Mix those two bags together. Then added 50/50 mix of the following until I had enough total media for all four plants. Plagron Cocos Perlite 70/30 mixed with Black Gold Natural and Organic Added the following to that mixture: 1/2 cup of Dr. Earth 4-4-4 dry ferts per plant, so total of 2 cups. 1/4 cup of Dr. Earth Alfalfa Meal per plant, total of 1 cup. 1/4 cup of Dr. Earth Bat Guano per plant, total of 1 cup. Did a final mix of everything. Used 5 gallon fabric pots. Day 1: Went to Queen of Dragons in Shasta Lake, CA, and got 4 clones of Blue Dream. They were great to work with and the transaction was easy and straightforward. My big question was how long they've been in the current containers. They knew right away and told me 3 weeks. Got them home and sprayed them with Lost Coast Plant Therapy. I do this with any plants coming into my place. Placed them in some indirect light so they could dry. After drying I pruned them back, getting rid of many fans, all of them along what will be the main trunk, per say. The clones had a decent amount of stretch, so I planted them deeper in the pots to lower their height. This also gave me the opportunity to get them closer to the same height as each other, making my life a little easier when it comes to training. After I got them all transplanted and in the tent, I watered each plant. Each plant was watered with 1 gallon of plain tap water with 5ml of lemon juice to help with pH. I'm using nothing in the water yet, I want to make sure the plants get settled first. Day 2: Plants are looking good. Slightly water logged looking early during the lights on period but by the end of the day they were looking pretty happy. Day 3: Plants look good. A second spraying of Lost Coast Plant Therapy was applied as soon as lights went out. Day 4: Everything looks good. They may need water, but remembering how deep I planted them, I decided to wait an extra day. Day 5: Time to water. Also time to introduce the plants to a little feed. I never want to miss a chance to give the plants something they could use. Each plant received 1 gallon of water/feed each. All four plants got GS Plantfoods - Ocean Magic Sea Minerals, 5mL per gallon of water. And 5mL of lemon juice per gallon of water. Plant 2 also got AGT-50, .625mL (1/8 tsp) per gallon of water. Plant 3 also got Liquid Culture Microbes, 1oz per gallon of water. Plant 4 also got the AGT-50 and the Liquid Culture Microbes at the same rate as Plant 2 and Plant 3.

Day 8: Took a good look at them today. The new growth is looking nice and healthy. All four plants are doing well. I stirred the top 1" of soil around in all four pots. I was checking the moisture amount in the pots. They could have probably gotten watered today, but again, because I started them deep I'm going to wait a day so I don't overwater. Plant 1: 12” tall Plant 2: 13.5” tall Plant 3: 12” tall Plant 4: 13.25” tall. Day 9: Water/feed time. Each plant got 1 gallon. Alaska Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1, 5ml per gallon of water. Lemon juice for pH, 5ml per gallon of water. I went with that liquid feed today to start with a little extra nitrogen boost. Gonna watch them this week and watch their color and reaction as their roots begin spreading out. Day 10: They are all looking very healthy. The plants are starting to get a thicker canopy growing, and the leaf color is uniform. The nodes on the new growth look tighter than when I first got the clones. Very happy with this grow and how the plants are starting out. Day 11: Looking good. Nothing for me to do but let them feed and grow today. The new growth looks good. I’m thinking about changing out the tower fan and put corner fans in. Create actual flow like in a room. Day 12: Water/Feed day. Plant 1 has some discoloring on the very edges of the leaves. For this reason I elected to give them just water, lemon juice, and then whichever product. So…. Each plant got 1 gallon. 5mL of lemon juice per gallon for pH. Plant 1: Just water Plant 2: Water and .625mL AGT-50 Plant 3: Water and 1/2oz Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4: Water and both the AGT-50 and Liquid Culture Microbes at the same doses as above. Day 13: They are growing nice and thick. They will probably get trimmed up in a week or so. Will have to top them when they get to the height I’m looking for.

This was a tough week. I’ve been sick with the flu, so not as many pictures. Honestly, just did the minimum to get by because of how bad I felt. Day 15: Water/feed day. All the plants are looking really good. You can start to see the difference between some of them. The plants getting the AGT-50 and the Liquid Culture Microbes are growing a thicker canopy, with new growth coming in a little faster. All four plants get the same feed this time. 5mL per gallon of Alaska 5-1-1. I also added 1/2 cup per plant of Happy Frog Veg dry fert. The local store was out of Dr Earth. I also added 1/4 cup of Happy Frog Steamed Bone Meal. I haven’t added anything for calcium yet, that’s why I’ve added the bone meal. Day 18: Topping day. They grown to the height I want so I topped all 4. After a few days I’ll add a net and start filling it in to form a good SOG. Another water/feed day as well. The plants are really growing in and looking good. Each plant was given 1 gallon of feed. They all got 5mL of Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon. Plant 1: Only got the normal feed amount. Plant 2: Added .625mL of AGT-50 to its mix. Plant 3: Added 15mL of Liquid Culture Microbes. Plant 4: Added the AGT-50 and the Liquid Culture Microbes. Day 20: Water/feed. This time I’ve added Growing Organic Insect Frass to the mix. 45mL per gallon along with 5mL per gallon of the Alaska 5-1-1. All four plants got the same feed. The plants all have thick canopies. Plant 1 is visibly smaller than the other 3. I’d say that it just looks less bushy.

Day 23: Trim and net day. The plants have gotten to the height that I want for my net and set them up for a ScrOG style grow. Plant 1: Looks good. Impressed with its growth. Plant 2: This plant is starting to slow its outer growth, but the branching is growing more than plant 1, making it a little more bushy. This plant also seems to show deficiencies faster than the other plants. This is the first fundamental difference that I've seen in plant health. This plant is a good indicator for me. Plant 3: This plant looks good. The outer growth is still good. It's bushy on the inside, but maybe not as much as plant 2 and plant 4. Plant 4: This plant is the thickest of the 4. The combination of the AGT-50 and the Liquid Culture Microbes is keeping this plant growing nicely. Water/Feed on this day as well. Each plant got 1 gallon of water/feed. Each plant got the following: 5mL of Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon of water 1.5tsp of Epsom Salt per gallon of water Each pot also got the following worked into the top of the soil. 1/3 cup of Happy Frog Veg 1/3 cup Dr. Earth Alfafa Meal Day 25: Already the plants are putting on good growth for just a couple days after being trimmed. I do think that plant 1 is a little behind on the new growth. Now that I'm preparing for them to get ready for switching over to flowering in a couple weeks, I'm adding the Alaska MorBloom 0-10-10. Each plants gets 1 gallon of water/feed and: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon 15mL Alaska 0-10-10 per gallon Plant 2 also got 1.25mL of AGT-50 Plant 3 also got 15mL of Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4 also got both the AGT-50 and the LCM Day 28: Didn't get a picture on this day but the plants are really growing well. I'm really happy with how well they are doing.

Day 31: The net is filling in fast. Really happy with the overall growth of all the plants. They all received the following: 1 gallon of water/feed each 10mL of Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon 15mL of Alaska 0-10-10 per gallon 15mL Blackstrap Molasses 1/2cup of Happy Frog Veg. Plant 2 also got 1.25mL AGT-50 Plant 3 got 15mL of LCM Plant 4 got both AGT-50 and LCM Day 33: Looking good. Water/feed again today. Each plant got 1 gallon each. 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 15mL Alaska 0-10-10 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Day 35: Impressed with the rapid growth. Just 2 weeks since the big trim and they have grown really well. Plant 1 has clearly fallen behind the others in growth at this point.

Lowering the temperature in the tent to prepare it for switching over to flower. The net is really beginning to fill in and the plants are getting thick in the spots that are lower that I didn't trim. Day 36: Water/feed day. Each plant got 1 gallon Each got the following: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 30mL Alaska 0-10-10 15mL Blackstrap Molasses 1/4cup Happy Frog veg 1/4cup Happ Frog fruit and flower Plant 2 also got AGT-50 Plant 3 also got LCM Plant 4 also got both AGT-50 and LCM Day 39: Trim day. I lollipopped them all so they can keep focusing energy on having bud spots at the net and not below the canopy. Water/feed, 1 gallon for each plant. All four plants got: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 30mL Alaska 0-10-10 1.5tsp Epsom Salt 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Day 41: Water/feed, 1 gallon per plant All the plants got the following: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 30mL Alaska 0-10-10 15mL Blackstrap Molasses 15mL Insect Frass Day42: The plants are doing great. This is the last day of veg. Tomorrow they will get flipped to flower.

Day 43: I flipped the lights to 12/12 to begin transferring to flower. I've been impressed with how thick the canopy has gotten. It's impossible to tell which plant is which from looking down upon the canopy. Day 45: The plants look really good. The canopy is really thick. I'm going to need to thin it out during the weekend in a few days. Water/Feed day Scratched into the top 1"-2" the following: 1/4 cup Happy Frog Veg 5-7-3 1/4 cup Happy Frog Flower 4-9-3 Each Plant got 1 gallon of water with the following: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon 15mL Alaska 0-10-110 per gallon 7.5mL Grow More Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Plant 2 got 1.25mL of AGT-50 Plant 3 got 15mL of Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4 got both AGT-50 and LCM at the same amount. Day 48: Water/Feed Day Each plant got 1 gallon of water with the following: 5mL Alaska 5-1-1 per gallon 30mL Alaska 0-10-10 per gallon 7.5mL Grow More Seaweed Extract per gallon 15mL Blackstrap Molasses 30mL Growing Organic Insect Frass per gallon Day 49: I did some thinning of the top after the lights came on. I don't want to do too much at once. Attempt to trigger SAR without overstressing them. I'm hoping to do a little more tomorrow when the lights come on. Started at plant 1 and worked my way around. Filled a 5-gallon bucket.

Day 50: Everything is looking happy after the little trimming. Getting ready to head out of town in a few days. Ordered a small automatic waterer from Amazon to assist while I'm gone. Watering/feeding day. Each plant got 1 gallon of water with the following things: 5mL per gallon Alaska 5-1-1 30mL per gallon Alaska 0-10-10 (a little more than normal to give them a boost) 5mL per gallon GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Scratched into the surface of each pot is a 1/2 cup of Happy Frog Fruit & Flower Day 52: Leaving town early on Day 53 for 5 days. To prepare for the time I'll be gone I got an automatic watering system from amazon. Since I only use a total of 4 gallons during watering and only need one watering done while I'm gone, a single bucket will do the trick. I set up the system, installed two watering stems per pot, and made a looped system. In the bucket of water, I added nothing but the water. I don't want to have to worry about stirring it or anything like that. I set the system up to water when lights come on during the 3rd day I'm gone, Day 55. After I had the system set up I watered/fed the plants. Each plant got 1 gallon with the following: 5mL per gallon Alaska 5-1-1 15mL per gallon Alaska 0-10-10 5mL per gallon Grow More Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Plant 2 also got 1.25mL of AGT-50 Plant 3 also got 15mL of Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4 also got both the AGT-50 and LCM at the same amounts above. Hope the watering system works.

Day 57: Forgot to get pics when watering. So some pics the next day. Water/Feed day. Each plant got 1 gallon with: 5mL per gallon Alaska 5-1-1 15mL per gallon Alaska 0-10-10 7.5mL GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Plant 2 also got 1.25mL per gallon of AGT-50 Plant 3 also got 15mL per gallon of Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4 got both and at the same amounts. I scratched into the soil of each pot 1/2 cup of Happy Frog Fruit and Flower Day 58: Took pictures. Plants are looking good. You can really see the difference in plant 1 compared to the other 3. Very few tops really pushed their way up on plant 1. Day 59: Water/Feed day. Again I didn't get pictures on this day. Each plant got 1 gallon with: 5mL per gallon Alaska 5-1-1 15mL per gallon Alaska 0-10-10 7.5mL GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Day 61: This time I got some pics. You can really tell that the plants are in flower. They are developing a good smell and you can see trichomes starting as well. Water/Feed day. Each plant got 1 gallon with: 5mL per gallon Alaska 5-1-1 15mL per gallon Alaska 0-10-10 7.5mL GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses

Day 64: Back from another weekend gone out of town. Only a couple of days this time so I didn't have to set up the watering system. The plants are looking really good. The small differences in the plants are even shown during flowering. Plant 1 has fewer tops up high with the other plants. Its overall height is smaller from slightly less stretch during the transition to flower. Its flowering formation also looks to be slightly less than the others as well. Water/feed day. Each plant got 1 gallon with: 3.75mL per gallon of Alaska 5-1-1 20mL per gallon of Alaska 0-10-10 7.5mL per gallon of GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses Plant 2 also got 1.25mL per gallon of AGT-50 Plant 3 also got 15mL per gallon of Liquid Culture Microbes Plant 4 also got both at those same amounts. Scratched into the soil of each pot I put 1/2 cup of Happy Frog Fruit and Flower Day 67: Another water/feed day. No pictures for this day. Water/feed day. Each plant got 1 gallon with: 3.75mL per gallon of Alaska 5-1-1 20mL per gallon of Alaska 0-10-10 7.5mL per gallon of GrowMore Seaweed Extract 15mL Blackstrap Molasses 15mL Insect Frass Day 69: Trimmed up the plants some. They are so thick that it's really hard to tell that I did any trimming at all. I'll continue to trim a little one or two days a week to try and keep up and give the lower bud spots more light. Day 70: The plants are looking great. You can see some differences in the size of the "trunk" of the plants. Plant 1 is visually smaller than the other three. Water/feed day.
