Germination
Had 6 seeds that came out of my weed that I bought a while back. Thought I would run a test, to try things out, see what works for me, before I go out and buy all the crazy genotypes out there. Every seed has germinated within a short period of time, which made me wonder, because they are +1 year old already, sitting in my cupboard. I am not giving any nutes yet. Believe it or not, I didn't have a tent, nor a grow light yet, I used an old umbrella lamp, used Aluminium Foil to line it out, had 2 led lamps (both 8W) snuck all 6 of them under the umbrella and let them grow until I the deliveryguy brought my Growlamp. Germination was (I think) on the 10.11.2022, stuck them under the DIY lamp until the 18.11.2022 and since then, the babies are in my tent! They have stretched quite a bit, because the umbrella lamp was: 1. Way too high 2. Way too weak But i think they bounced back quite a bit. Unfortunately, 2 of the 6 young seedlings weren't really promising, I had to discard one of them, the other one is going to be my frankenstein, that I am going to treat as badly as I can, just to see the plants reaction (you will see the difference in size lol). Since I have very limited space, losing one of the 6 isn't too bad, I was hoping to get at least 2 females, on one hand to cut down the grow time by half and on the other hand to fill out the space by going as wide as I can with these... It's my first grow, so wish me luck!

22.11.2022 The babies have been in their new home, with their new lighting for 4 days and I am surprised by the development they have undergone! crazy difference, maybe its placebo, but I had the feeling, that growth was very slow in the first few days. I thought it was due to the lack of proper light and bad soil. I have been spraying the soil with 2ml/l of piranha to promote better root structure. I know my soil and pots look bad, but at this point I was already looking for solutions and you're about to see what it was in the next week of the grow.

29.11.2022 - Now would you look at that! I actually start to feel like I am growing weed! I have ordered some Air pots, because i was a bit scared of overwatering the plants and also I thought it would be practical to have these holes on the side to make LST a tiny bit easier later on. They are good for 10 years, or so I heard, so I thought, why not give it a try? Was thinking of fabric pots, or even square ones, but first of all, this ain't commercial and second I am here for the gathering of experience. Anyway: I have repotted them in 5 litre pots, one of them, in a 12.5 litre pot. By the size of my grow tent and measurements, i could fit 8 of the 12.5litre pots to maximize yield by cutting the growing time. Also I think I need more plants, because I want to do too much, try this out, check that out... man this hobby is a nice one, right from the beginning 😅 I should start to name them though, it's getting kinda hard to keep them apart, even the one that made me go "ehhh not sure about that one" has catched up quite well! Leaving them alone was getting really hard around these days and you guys will see the full repercussions of me trying too much in the next days. By then you will be Up do Date with my grow and we'll enjoy the journey together! 03.12.2022- I was thinking that maybe the burnt pieces of leaf have occured because i did water them badly and had droplets of water on the leaves that i couldn't shake off.. trying not to snap them, I just left them alone, maybe the light intensity wasnt too much.. they are getting around 560- 600 ppfd, DLI is at around 45-50. They are getting 24/0 light, because I felt that they had to work a bit harder, since they had a not so optimal start. Plants are getting bushy already, I feel. 05.12.2022- Apart from the burned bits, plants are looking real healthy in my eyes, maybe someone more experienced may elaborate on that, you might see something, that I just can't see due to inexperience. It has gotten easier to keep my hands off of them, after I have seen what mayhem my hands can cause 😂. In the last few days I have played a bit with the hanging height, % of power used and placement of the plants. I might dim the light back down to 25% and hang it 15cm above the canopy, because the plants have looked real good 2 days of having it hang so low, then, after I have watered them, the burns have appeared. Might investigate. Until next Week then!

In week 3 I have still not added any nutrients, just plain water with Piranha 20 ml on 10 L water. Plants have been topped on the 7th of december. Trained again after 2 days of rest. We were having our early christmas party with friends, we had some nice cookies, drank some, smoked some... came home, being totally high and drunk, I overdid the training and accidentally ripped off one of the side shoots, that came up after topping 😅 I told you, these hands cause mayhem! Anyway: The stress symptoms that occured in the beginning have shown their true colors, I don't think it's any kind of disease, since the plants haven't gotten any new area that is affected. BUT: Remember that small one? My frankenstein? The damn thing! I had some soil from my mothers garden, it had gnats in it.. Had the pest earlier, killed it off, looked at frankenstein, who I hadn't watered for like a week or even longer, watered the fucker, the next day I see those damn flies flying around! Hooked 4 of those yellow traps on my light to fight them off again.

Look at these tropical bushes.. My lord, it looks like a damn jungle in there already! Maybe I have to bust out a machete to defoliate the plants later on 😂 I have transferred 2 other plants into 12.5 litre pots, to see how they react.. In the mornings I have noticed wet spots on and between the leafs, where they touch each other. I think the humidity is too high (around 80% in the morning). After turning on the lights and ventilation, it drops to 65ish. Should I leave the coasters outside after watering the plant, to drop the humidity right now, or is it ok? Thus far my observation is: The plant which has been in the biggest pot after the seedling stage has grown the thickest mainstem. Maybe the other ones will catch up, or even overtake it. This run is for experience and seeing how the plants react. I have also bought 1L air pots, but the germination has been in a really bad soil, not in airpots and also with varying amounts of soil in each pot. I think i might try using the 1L pot after germination and then transplant the plant in the final pot immediately. Also: A new family member! RQS Amnesia Haze Automatic! My first "real seed"!😉 Germination was on the 12th of December. Soaked it in water for 12 hours put it between papersheets and 2 plates. placed it under the radiator in my room. Shot the sprout on the 14th i think. It's been sitting in the tent, covered with a glass since yesterday. My plan is to flip the photoperiodic plants to 12/12 right when the automatic starts flowering. That way the automatic will get 18/6 for its full vegetative phase. I will try to match the height of the plants for an even canopy. As I said, experimenting is what this is for! Maybe I have to build a raise for the plant, maybe the LST and topping will make it so, that the canopy will be even. I won't top the Autoflower, nor am I going to train it, except for the last few weeks, when the Scrog net will be installed, as hopefully all the plants will have the same size. edit: After the repot last night, I used new LST to branch out the plants even more. They look really weird haha, but I guess it's going to pay out, after the net is installed, I will have many branches to put in the holes. Thanks for the input again! edit2: added photos of the 20th. They are officially 4 weeks old! added 3.5ml/l of plagron grow Wish me luck and happy growing!

Hi fellow practicioners of garden engineering :P I am wondering, if these plants are going to be too big for my tent, are they going to be unmanagable? The size of my tent is 2x4 (60x120). I was comparing my plants to other indica diaries and truth be told, mine look way to bushy

High EiS3NFAUST, Yes you did great with the LST. The reason to use LST is to let all the branches grow till the same height and for that gain the same amount of light from your lamp. You just need to make sure that there are no leaves stacked on eachother and that there are no leaves on top blocking a huge amount of light for a bug part of the or another plant. Yes 11 liter is perfect for cannabis but then you need enough space for it. I like to grow 5 liter pots a lot better. The plants stay smaller, you can fit more in 1 growroom (9 per square meter). And you can flip to 12/12 within 2-3 weeks so you reach harvest a lot faster. But when you want 11 liter pots I would recommend 3 plants inside this grow room. Enjoy your grow buddy!

Hi guys, new Guinea pig in 5L pot: I have defoliated/pruned the stems as you can see, is it safe like this for my other bigger and bushy ones? Wet spots on leaves, also low circulation. Should I defoliate at all when doing LST? The big fan leaves still block a lot of light

High EiS3NFAUST, Yes you should do some defoliation. Just make sure that leaves are not stacked on eachother. Like you mentioned you need a good airflow between the leaves. You also want to defoliate the larger leaves blocking the light for a big part of the plant. Look at your plant. Look at the leaves that are stacked on eachother and look at the leaves that block too much light. Then make a plan which ones you need to cut away for the reasons mentioned above. Do not overdo it! You can always decide to cut away more but you can not glue them back after cutting XD Enjoy your grow!

This is week 4 day 3. Did some defoliation to reduce humidity. gonna buy some cal mag and bloom nutes today thanks to the help of the "high council" I think it turned out well! Plants are showing signs of pre-flower. after proper sexing, and discarding males (bagseeds) I will wait for the RQS automatic to catch up and send the ladies into flower, until then I am going to LST and prune them even more, maybe it will look a bit like mainlining, who knows! day 6: Today I have watered the plants with 3L each, using connoisseur bloom, with 1.8 ml the plants have reacted well to the last feeding with calmag and the new nutes, but I have lessen the dosage, and will ramp it up next week, just to avoid nutritionburn. I think this coco version is a lil bit stronger (has calmag in it) than the normal one for soil happy growing and wish me luck my fellow gardening connoisseurs!

Starting week 6 on a strong comeback of the plants, even the wonky one does look much better now, after the addition of a wider spectrum of nutes. This is day 1 and I might be thinking not to veg that much longer, maybe 1 or 2 weeks top, before i put them on 12/12. Going to buy 2 scrog nets soon. To get ready for the stretch. The plants look damn bushy already again, I just cut it a few days ago!? Now I am wondering where to prune correctly, I did cut off some lower bud sites which looked the weakest, but now, pretty much all of 5hem look OK to me (I guess). The automatic has went from the eazy plug into a 1 litre air pot, going to repot once, into either 5/9 or again a 12.5L pot. That will be the final plant in the tent for this run. The next watering will be with normal tap water, then again I'm going to add nutes, but in a greater amount Week 6 day 2: light defoliation on all the plants Week 6 day 3: plants are looking as if I hadn't pruned them again.. Going to water today or tommorow week 6 day 4: watered the plants with plagron grow 4ml/L and some calmag, did some new LST Wish me luck brothers and sisters, Happy growing!

On the 1st of the new year, we did start week 7 on a weaker side, my plants are showing calmag deficiency again, going to give them around 1.4ml/L at 9 Litres to bounce them back again. A friendly grower told me not to overdo the calmag, that is why I have only gave them calmag twice since i have bought the stuff. Going to give them clear water only with CalMag added tonight, or tommorow. Also the roots have began to spread on my grow tent floor.. I wasn't too keen about starting a hydroponic grow at the end of the Veg Cycle, haha. Anyways, thanks for all the help you guys give me, I called a friend over who's very experienced, but that fucker is actually a bit too lazy and has stuff to do at the same time.. Without your help, it would've had ended in a disaster already I think. in Frank sinatras words & Voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeDfgUvyKHk ! Happy growing and a happy new year, guys!

Hello guys, as you can see, my roots are beginning to spread on the grow tent floor.. I was going to use a scrog net, but I think when it is installed and the plants have grown in, the pots are going to be immovable. what do I do with these roots? is it safe to cut them off?

I would leave them and set up a empty drip tray with a riser/screen above it so the drips are getting collected into something and the pot is not making a direct contact with the floor. something like this goes into the drip tray and allows air movement below the pot so it does not get to humid and form more roots so they prune via air. https://wholesalehydroponics.ca/plant-riser.html I'd also empty the saucers after watering and again later that day to prevent a high RH at the root zone, I'd also try and get a larger saucer then the pot so its not making a sealed off area with the pots diameter. eg if pot is 8" don't get a 8" drip tray get a 10-12" tray with that riser/screen. have some buffer room around the pot so air can get in. Good Luck!

Hi guys, I was thinking to flip to 12/12 very soon, but am worrying about the plant health. I did spray the leaves on top with a 1ml/L solution of CalMag the last 2 days, and watered them with calmag water 4 days ago, is this still a calmag deficiency?

High just water with grow nutrients and right pH till you've reached 20-30% runoff from the amount that you gave. Collect the runoff and check the pH and EC value. When one of those values is waaay higher + 0.5 you need to give till runoff again with 20-30% runoff till both values are within the 0.2 range from the given nutrient solution. After you have done this just let the soil dry out at least the top layer (2-3 cm) before you water again. Do the same thing when you notice the first white pistils and you want to change from grow to bloom nutrients. Enjoy your grow!

This will be the last week of veg, I will try to fix all the problems until then, flip them and enjoy the stretch. The plants looked way healthier, when I went in today, to check in, after having watered them with a pH of around 6-6.5. But now I have noticed, that a lot of stems have turned purple, looks like another deficiency, which came up, after having adjusted the PH a bit. It has been almost 48 hours since the last feeding, going to wait another 48, discuss with other growers and then proceed accordingly, I must say, without all of you, this wouldn't have been possible, I can't wait for the time, when I am experienced enough to give that amount of help to anybody. On day 2 of week 8, I have decided to water the plants again, to speed up the process of soil pH adjustment. I have waited for 72 hours, the pots weren't as light as if I had waited for the "normal" amount of time, but quite light still. The plants New growth is not red/magenta on the stems anymore, I wonder if the red parts do turn green again. But the tops are turning more lime green, which indicates a nitrogen deficiency, But with the previous lockout and my fear of flushing, I won't put as much fertilizer (or non at all, next watering), this time it was 2ml/L. I don't want the plants to burn! Now when I think about it, with more experience i would have noticed sooner, since new growth was very bright, which is why I mistook it for pistils (oh dear), I thought since it's very fresh growth, it does not have the deep green color yet. Well, experience, as I said! Day 4: I have checked the plants and they have turned even a bit more yellow and show more calmag deficiencies on the top, But growth has come back again. Inner leaves turn yellow, I don't know if it's because they are deprived of light, or if it's still the nutrient deficiency due to the lockout. Anyway, I go through the plants daily and pick the yellow leaves, which do not require any force to take them off. After the next watering, I will flip them to 12/12 and fix the problem fully along the way, before the bud sites Form. (hopefully) Happy growing! Happy growing!

Defoliating fan leaves bit by bit, every day to open up the grow tent and reduce risk of mold. Reduced watering amount to 2.5L instead of 3 per plant. Had the feeling that the soil stayed wet too long Went a Lil bit harder on the 3rd of February, going to defoliate more on the 5th, then only go for fan leaves which block light on other budsites

I have more time on my hands today and am happy to give y'all a bigger diary entry this week. I'll update it once at day 4 of week 11. I think I'll stick with this update schedule. 1 Diar entry and 1 update for the week. Have a good read! 05.02.23 I am getting so excited guys. Today marks the beginning of week 3. I have watched a lot of videos about lollipopping, defoliation, shwazzing and leafstrip. Also some of the fellow growers helped me tremendously with their input on my questions, which have been mostly about this topic, because I did doubt myself, didn't want to hurt my little babies, I think everyone knows what I'm talking about, heh. At Week 11 Day 1 I have defoliated the lower parts of the plants, branches which didn't show any buds yet, have been cut off.. A few branches, which had small buds have also been cut. Examples provided in the picture section. I am such a fool for being too harsh with the ladies, they got some blemishes, but don't call welfare check on me, I have snapped one of the biggest branches... It happened three or four times now in the whole grow, but this time, believe me... Shivers went down my spine as I heard the cracking and felt the branch giving up on me.. Just look at the construction side on the main base of the plants, there are a lot of wires holding the branches against the main body of the plant 😂😂 Shit, i hope they won't herm! Full Bloom Nutes and big bud/budcandy will be introduced later this week, the next feeding I think. The last feeding was circa half the usual dose, I've put in some distilled water in. A lot of budsites have shown up, but I will stay conservative and do not stress the plants anymore, at least not much more than I am doing right now, I'll stick to cutting of fan leaves daily, until only sugar leaves are present on the branches around the main Cola. Happy growing, next update in 3 days!

Hi guys, welcome to week 4 day 2: Wateramount: 1.5-2Litre every 2-3 days, when the plants stop to pray again. Hanging height: 55-45cm. couldnt fix the canopy more than that. PPFD 700-900 Humidity @50% 25°C I am happy that I haven't discarded the RQS Amnezia Haze Auto. It has finally started to produce buds. Very weird tho. I have planted it in December. By now it should've finished already... maybe the seed was weird, but I had the extra space, so I thought, why not keep it. Buds are growing really well, the sugar leaves are starting to get frosty. Some leaves are getting really brown though. Is it because they are going to die off naturally anyway? Might need some help on that topic. I am cutting off single fan leaves which block budsites under them.

Welcome to flowering week number 7 of my first grow. The ladies have quite a smell now. I now definitely know, that I have 2 different strains. The one in the middle is different from the left and right one. It smells quite citrusy, while the other have berry, orange and biscuit aromas. I have given the last nutrient feed with only 1.8ml/L to give them the last boost, before they will be flushed. I will not use any flushing agents, nor will I put 3x the water through the pots. Just let them eat up anything left in the soil. I have noticed some fan leaves turning yellow, while this is normal at this stage, i think just one more little boost is needed.. Anyways, check it out! I will be gone for 4 days, and will give them water tommorow morning before I have to leave. Also thanks to all the growers who helped me to get to this stage on my first grow. I do feel much more confident going into my second run and will start going to optimize the whole experience! Also the automatic amnezia haze from royal queen seeds is going quite well too. The thing is, it won't be finished before the other gals, so it will have to stay outside of my tent until the other plants are ready for curing.

Welcome to week 8. Was gone for 4 days, the plants haven't been watered that time, but they have survived and strives through it. Gave them 2.5 litres of water, because They have been hanging, 2 hours later got praying leaves. Took off some dead and weak leaves and others which have grown handsized again. The rqs amnesia auto has gotten some nice buds aswell. Temp and humidity was at my goal of 25C and 45% when I came back, so pretty much all went well! At least now I know that I can leave them alone for some time, when everything is going well. Gave the big ones no nutrition, The amnezia got 2ml/L of bloom nutes, since some of the stems of the Fan leaves have turned purple. Added photos of the day I came back(flower week 7 day 6/7), pre watering, after watering and first day of flower week 8. I think it's just some few days to go, I will investigate further with the help of my mans here on GD! I think maybe 7 to 10 days. The leaves on the right plant are pretty crispy, the other plants have taken the environment much better, but maybe it was due to higher nutrient needs of the other the and this one was a little. Bit finicky. I will incorporate the experience I got this run for the next. Until then! Happy growing mates

Probably the last week before the chop, Plants are starting to die, all are losing a lot of color, but the Trichomes are not ready yet. Maybe around 95 milky 5%clear 5% amber. Have given the plants only water for the last few feedings. Gonna ask others again about harvesting and timing. Happy growing!

Welcome to the last week of my grow. Guys, I am really proud of myself! Thanks to all the help I've gotten on here, it's because of you guys, that I will smoke my own weed in a short matter of time, hell yeah! Still only water, as you can see, a lot of fan leaves are dying, showing, that the plants lifecycle is finally coming to an end. I have snipped off a lot of dead leaves, which made me scared, didn't want no mold right on the finishing line.

Welcome to flowering week 10. Yes, I haven't chopped the ladies down but still checking the Trichomes, it's closer to the finishing line, but look at the plants! They still have undergone some change, the right plant has turned purple a lot, it's kinda weird, all my plants have purple in them, even the rqs amnesia auto. Makes me wonder, what I have done to accomplish that. I have given the plants nutrients one last time yesterday, after a long period of only water, this should help the plants to get to the finishing line. I have seen a Video of Dr.Bugbee, since I haven't overfertilized the soil, keeping a low nutrient feed until harvest 8s optimal, according to him. I will proceed with caution tho, have given them 2.6ml/L. Who knows when the girls will finish 😂 You can see two different phenos, if you ask me, maybe someone in the comments can tell me why they look so different, but I'm quite sure now, that they are all the same strain, who would've thought 😂 out of the 6 bagseeds, which were from different dudes, all 3 who I've chosen to keep are the same. But look at the buds on the left and right plant, they are similar in structure and looks. The one in the middle looks different, but what they all have in common? They are dense AF. Gotta love it. Maybe, just maybe, I will chop them this, or next week, or the one after 😂 Jokes aside, happy growing my dudes and ladies
