QCS Gorilla Glue in Coco/Perlite

Gloria is a clone from one if my bonsai mothers, the healthiest of the first 3 successful cuttings. Shes around 4 weeks old, I'm not sure when to start counting with clones. The goal of this grow is to document a coco grow using an air pump and stone to aerate the medium throughout the grow. If coco is hydroponics, why not add air like in dwc? I have done this once before and the root ball was unlike anything I have seen so far, they completely filled the pot, right up to the very top of the coco. The resulting plant was more like the size I get from a 5 gallon pot. At the bottom of a 2 gallon fabric pot I placed a 4" disc air stone and then added an inch or 2 of perlite before filling the remainder with coco/perlite 70/30. Watering is done twice a day, following the frequent fertigation guidelines on cocoforcannabis.com, an incredibly helpful site

Shes doing well, not a great deal of growth as I keep topping her to build a manifold. Shes tolerating the 2/3 strength Lucas formula so I increased it to full strength

She's doing good, no issues. Used some covered wire to pin her branches down. As it stands now she has 10 mains, 4+4+2, the last two from a lower branch I left intact for some reason that I've now forgotten *shrugs* we'll see what happens, only way to learn :)

Well, she looks healthy but growth has not been advancing as I would expect...ran thru the usual suspects: pH & ec and both were in range...checked for aphids and _still_ found one before spraying with soap, they're tenacious little bastards, I'll give them that...still, not nearly enough to cause delayed growth....on a whim, I checked my pH meter in the calibration solution and it was off, made a fresh batch of 6.86 solution and it was still off by about +0.5....this would explain a lot, hopefully I can start entering a height more than 4 inches lol

Things are looking better. Now that pH and ec are under control shes started some noticeable growth. The mainlining is all set so I just have to let her veg for a few weeks before the flip

Going well...I've eased up on watering to test a theory: with the air stone at the bottom, I think that part dries first but regular watering keeps the top half wet. I think this is what made for a giant solid root ball in my previous air pump experiment - she dried out from a watering volume miscalculation. Not showing any deficiencies so far so I think it's doing no harm at least. Her mainlined tops are all coming along nicely, gonna flip her in the next week or two

Haven't been able to keep up with twice daily watering so it's mostly been once a day since flipping to 12/12...hand watering and frequent fertigation is great until you get ahead of yourself and have more plants than you should've started.....despite this shes doing great so far, still lingering aphid issues but I'll lose most with a spraying and the rest after 21 days when I defoliate and lollipop so they have no where to hide...little fuckers...

So I've decided the air pump is making little to no difference in this grow and disconnected it from the fabric pot. Cer6makes it easier to move around now. Did a major defoliation & pruning and some hst to try and make an even canopy. So far so good

Last week's hst had little to no negative effect on the old girl. I put 4 plastic cups upside down inside a 2 gallon with a hole in its side for drainage. Placed the fabric pot inside, the cups keep it elevated and the fit is snug enough I can tip the bucket sideways to drain the runoff. Using the bucket gives me something to anchor the plant ties to, allowing me to open her up a little more for more light exposure.

Missed a week....Buds are getting frosty and smelly :-) Everything seems ok for the most part - noticed the pistils on a few flowers were standing straight up. It always makes me think they look scared or alarmed and (imo) it means she's under stress from something, usually too much/too close light so I raised it a few inches

Frosty buds, strong smell....at least another week to go, I doubt I'll be willing to wait longer than that, it's just too enticing

48 grams dried. This is gonna be my go-to strain for a while as I compare different techniques and nutrients. Just a solid all around strain, great potency and smell and a strong grower. Kudos to Quebec Cannabis Seeds :-)
