Hi I am starting this diary a little bit late but hopefully that's not too important. I got 3 seeds of the Durban poison from Pev seeds supplied by Dutch passion. They were the smallest seeds that I ever tried to germinate, I am not sure if this is normal for this strain but I wasn't confident that they would germinate but two finally did but only one made it through the other one just never matured as per photo which was taken two weeks after germination. I have never seen such a thing. Anyway Alan from Pev seeds did give me a free seed with my next order whoopie, I lost nearly 6 weeks of the growing season. So the soul survivor is doing really well I give it liquid seaweed fertilizer about ever 2-3weeks and will move to a k at flowering.

Does Durban poison, being a sativa, like to be fed only a little?.

Yes, half strength nutrients and if growing in soil, feeding every 2-3 weeks is usually enough for (pure) Sativas like Durban Poison.

The plant is looking very healthy, I have tipped most of the branches and removed a few fan leaves to allow more light to all the extra growing tips, from reading up on this strain the sativa's seem to respond well to pruning, and I could agree with that, I have probably removed around 8 tips and she has responded nicely, but I will just let her grow from now on. The smell is strong for a plant in vege compared to others I have grown. I will feed again at Xmas .

Possibly, but not necessarily, they could be hermies or regulars.

hi, a plant makes its seeds for self-pollination for two reasons or for genetics so it is hermaphrodite but you see it, or when it is left more than necessary at the end of its flowering it understands that it has not been pollinated and for the survival of the species it makes a last effort and self-pollinated and the resulting seeds are natural feminized

Lots of new growth and still looking healthy. Applied a foliar feed and did a bit more in LST.

Done a lit more LST this week, she has responded well to having the tips removed. I probably won't do any more pruning at all, just removing leaves when I feel she needs a haircut, bud rot is the biggest threat here on the coast so removing leaves is essential for circulation. I have some guy wires (soft garden ties) holding the branches down to pegs. Bumble footed me tripped over one and broke the branch off.😖 So I put it in to clones. A good week other than the breakage.

Still growing well and a breeze to grow. I did break another branch but bound it and tied it to a support so it's all good. I expect they flowering will start some time in the next few weeks.

Coming along nicely, showing signs of pre flower so maybe a few more weeks and flowering should start. Gave her a foliage feed but I think she may need a bit more.

Have done a little more SLT and removed a few more tips, and even though I have broken 3 branches and bandaged them up straight away, the tops wilted for a night but it is back to it's old rampaging self. This is an amazing strain, very for giving and easy to grow. Because of the nature of the soil it is growing in I have no regular feeding pattern. Just little and often. Maybe another 2 weeks and flowering should begin. So anxious.

Still doing really well, I think I will start the flowering from next week as it is showing signs that she wants to flower. Hopefully I can get her to mid April, no barring bud rot.😠

Going really welll, I have been hesitant to feed them as per what i had read during my research ,that sativas dont like a lot of feeding. Manyy of the lower leaves were looking pales s gave the a dose of liquid fert and they have responded well.

Still looking a treat. I broke one of the branches by tripping over my own guy wire 😦, the first trichomes have started to appear and the smell is a musty earthy smell with a hint of blueberry, and a smelly sports locker room.

Not a good week, since the beginning of March the growth has been very slow. We have just had 24 hrs of extreme thunderstorms and torrential downpours, which did knock the plants around a lot. The broken branch that I thought I had saved started wilting again and I couldn't be bothered keeping it misted again all day and it was probably causing undue stress on the entire plant, so I cut the fucker off. Because I was trying to save the branch I think she may have got burnt from water on the leaves in full sun. What I hoped was going to be a good yield from this plant 10+ ounces may turn out to be closer to 4 oz. Her clone is outdoing her 10 to 1.

Apologies for the lateness of this week. Al things considered the two girls are doing fine. The mother that is planted in the ground has had a hard 2 weeks, a storm past by and broke two of the main branches so I have removed them and have them hanging. The girl in the pot is doing exceptionally well. I have put her in to a makeshift green house to help keep her dry as she has had a few instances of bud rot. All of my plants this season have had bud rot except for the Durban poison that is planted in the ground.
