And so it begins: another grow in the micro cabinet. This time I will test BioTabs and see how it compares to my betrusted BioBizz nutrient line. Therefore I have 2 plants per strain, to see how they compare. This will be the first time growing 4 plants in my small 1x2 ft cabinet, instead of 2. I let the seeds soak in a glass of water for a day to germinate them, then move them to the SeedPlugs from BioTabs.

The plants spent there first week as a seedling under a 50W LED board, on a temporary place, before I move them to the cabinet. The lights are on a 14h shedule, cause otherwise I can't sleep :) However, they seem to be doing pretty good! They were covered with a humidity dome for the first week, to increase the humidity, as 40% would be too low. I water the BioTabs plants with water with some of the SoilPlugs Startermix solution, left over from the germination set, to add some more of the beneficial bacteria and fungi. The numbers are not exact though. The BioBizz plants get some Bio-Heaven and Root-Juice.

Second week of the grow and the young ladies have grown substantially! The Tropicanna Poison's are slightly bigger than the Cream Caramel's. All 4 are looking healthy and vibrant. This week, I put the fertilizer tablets in the soil of the BioTabs plants, along with 2ml Orgatrex per liter of medium. The BioBizz plants got some grow fertilizer and BioHeaven. Tomorrow they will go into the growing cabinet, which means the light intensity will go up and the light will stay on for 18 hours per day.

The girls moved to the growing cabinet this week! This means they also have a more powerful light and showed remarkable growth. I topped the girls to encourage more branches to grow, and keep them shorter. The BioTabs plants get only water. I will let them grow for a few more days and then switch to a 12/12 photoperiod, as I don't want them to overcrowd the cabinet.

The last week of veg already, I flipped the photoperiod on the 20th of January, so after 23 days of vegetative growth. The plants are all looking good, green, and vibrant! No signs of nutrient problems, so safe to start the flowering phase. I don't see any significant differences between the BioTabs and BioBizz yet. The Tropicanna Poisons are a bit taller than the Cream Caramel. The BioTabs received plain water this week.

The girls stretched like crazy this week, almost doubling in height! There are barely any pistils or signs of flowering, even 12 days after the flip. Maybe they respond a bit slower because they were in veg for such a short time. So I think I will have to wait a bit longer for that I guess :) The plants look very vibrant and had a full canopy of lush green leaves. I defoliated right before the pictures, so the plants look a bit beaten up. But now the air circulation and light penetration are much better and should set them up nicely for the flowering period. I don't see any difference between the BioBizz and BioTabs nutrients, both look very happy. The BioTabs only received water this week.

So this week was not good. The ladies wouldn't stop stretching, they just kept growing into the light. I had to take some drastic measures to 'save' this grow. I have cut back the plants to give about 15 centimetres of space between the light and the tops of the plants and removed the leaves at the top so that more light can reach the lower parts of the plants. The Cream Caramels have turned hermaphrodite... I have removed all the male parts and will keep an eye on them from now on. I hope this grow is going to turn more positive next weeks.

Last week was a wild one for me and the plants alike. After the crazy stretch, I have tried to make the best of it by cutting them back and defoliating them to allow light to reach deeper into the canopy. They are still very close to the light, but we will see how they deal with it. The BioBizz plants get some stronger feed this week. The buds are actually developing quite nicely!

The plants are looking much better than last week, so the defoliation work has proved beneficial! The canopy is high but pretty even. The plants are close to the light, but they don't seem very stressed. The flowers are developing nicely; the Cream Caramels are already pretty big and the Tropicanna Poisons are smelling very nice. The Tropicanna Poisons are showing some purple and red colours. There were still a few male flowers, which I removed as soon as I saw them, they were not open yet. The humidity is a bit on the high side, so I hope it will drop in the next few weeks.

40 days after switching to the 12/12 light cycle, the flowers are becoming bigger and more smelly! When I open the cabinet, the smell of tropicanna poison greets me, the scent is fruity and sweet. The flowers of Cream Caramel are looking much bigger than the Tropicanna Poison. I defoliated the plants for the last time (I think) to improve airflow, improve airflow, and reduce the humidity. The BioTabs plants get only water, next week they will get a fertilizer boost. The BioBizz plants receive the same mid-flower recipe as last week.

We are currently at 47 days after the switch in photoperiod. The BioTabs plants received a dose of Orgatrex, to prepare for the final weeks of flower, 20ml per plant. I took some pictures with a camera instead of my phone, I love the pictures!

I switched to a 12/12 photoperiod 53 days ago. Last week the buds increased in size, and did some serious fattening up! The aromas are intense. Cream Caramel has big and compact flowers, this one is going to give a good yield. Tropicanna Poison has very meagre flowers, I think it is because of the stress early in the grow. The buds are very airy and light, maybe they will fatten up in the next week, but that's doubtful. This is a pity because the flowers smell really good! The pistils are turning brown, showing the harvest is nearing. The BioBizz plants show a bit more fading to light green and yellow than the BioTabs plants, which look vibrant green still.

Here we are, 61 days into flower: the plants look gorgeous and smell terrific! I can't believe how well the girls recovered from the stress early in the flowering phase. When I open the cabinet, I am first welcomed by a fresh, fruity scent from Tropicanna Poison, followed by a creamy and berry-like wave from Caramel Cream. The colourful plants also cheer up the garden; purple and red flowers, bright greens, and orange pistils. I doubted that Tropicanna Poison would look anything close to the pictures on the website from Sweet Seeds, but boy, they delivered! One of the Tropicanna Poisons still has airy buds, but the other one is fattening up. The trichome heads are clear and milky, but no amber yet, so they will have to go at least another week. The plants are looking healthy, so this should be no problem!

The finish line is so close! These pictures are taken 68 days into flower, with just a few more days to go. The ladies are all looking and smelling formidable. This week they only got water, no more nutrients. The trichomes are all milky, with a few amber ones on two of the plants: almost ready to be harvested!

Germination: 2/2 seeds germinated, straightforward and quick! Vegetative stage: the ladies grew very fast, responded well to topping and were ready to flip into flower in no time! Flowering stage: stretched way too much, but this is also my mistake. I grew too many plants too close, causing them to compete for light and triple in height after the flip. This caused them to grow into the light, leaving me with no option but to cut away some of the upper parts of the plants. Flower development was very fluffy, while the Cream Caramel beside them had no problem growing hard flowers. The scent was amazing though, and the colours made the plants very beautiful! The flower took quite a while to mature, not really a 'fast version' if you ask me. Smoke report: the flowers, though fluffy, are very nice to smoke and vape. The taste is amazing: it has a sweet, fresh, and fruity taste that really honours its name. The high is strong, with an uplifting cerebral high at first, that mellows into a more relaxing high after a while. I like this for sharing with friends for a fun social night. The flowers work very well for rheumatic pain.

Another grow for the books! This cycle had two questions: firstly, can I grow 4 plants instead of 2 in my small growing cabinet so I have a wider variety of flowers to smoke? Secondly, how does BioTabs compare to BioBizz? I tried it with 2 Tropicanna Poisons and 2 Cream Caramels. All 4 seeds germinated with no problems. The vegetative phase went really quickly, they were topped once and then ready to flip to flower after only 23 days of veg. And this turned out to be too much even. They stretched a lot, too much... They grew into the light, forcing me to cut away some of the top parts of the branches. This all caused quite some stress, and all ladies showed some hermaphrodism signs for a few weeks. I thought about terminating the grow, but decided to make the best of it and learn something. Eventually, the ladies recovered and started producing some nice flowers! I was glad I hadn't stopped them! Both cultivars had nice flowers, Cream Caramel had big and hard flowers, and Tropicanna Poison had purple flowers with an amazing smell to them! The grow took 95 days: 23 days veg and 72 days flower. After 17 days, the flowers were dry and ready to go into curing jars. With this grow I found that BioTabs are amazing! Better results than BioBizz with much less effort! I also found out that 4 plants maybe is too much for my cabinet, or I have to flip to flower even sooner. Next run, I will try 3 plants.
