12-17-22-Seeds arrived, Christmas present from my son. He selected North Atlantic Seed Co.'s Naughty list for me and 6 Atomic Jellyphoto/fem from In House Genetics came as the bonus freebies. I've grown some wonderful freebies and started two with my other Christmas Beans, Deluxe Candy Cane straight away. At 5:30pm I put the seeds between wet paper towel. 12-18-22-Added water two times today, made room on the heated Propagation mat, labeled grow bags. 12-19-22-5:00am Both seed coats split open and root protruding. 35 1/2 hours to germinte. I'll grow them out alittle bigger before I slip them into already watered medium. 12-20-23-Keeping a close eye on beans, adding water then pouring off excess several times a day. The roots were growing into the paper towel so I planted the sprouted beans and moved them to the prop tray with botton heat 75degrees and covered with a tall humidity dome to capture the rising heat, 12-23-22-7:30am both seedlings emerged overnight and shed seed coat, colyledon leaves pale and together. WEATHER NOTE: Colorado has had extreme cold and my grow is in my drafty 100+ yr old basement. I credit the respectably quick and 100% germination to bottom heat and humidity dome because I know the seeds are good. 12-24-22-7:30am Both beans unfurled and small true leaves appear in between. I uncovered the dome, very damp underneath, and moved them alittle closer to the light.

if you using full spectrum grow lights (not pink), you can use that light too, just take a sheet of white paper to calibrate white balance. if not, turn down leds, then any strong white lights can work, best if you not point the light directly to y subject, you can use white paper to mirror back and spread the lights. if you have some specific question, feel free to ask. (you can check some of my cannabis photos on twitter @cannabiscultnft)

Thanks for the advise. I turn the led lights down then take a photo. Not professional but better.

I like m0use's ideas here... I've often wondered how to get GOOD photos of what I grow... but natural light is going to be the best option, imho - certainly not the flash of a camera light! And there is where m0use's advice sounds pretty sound... taking a photo in the middle of the day under full sun produces some pretty terrible photos... but that same shot, with the sun's rays slanted or thinly muted through light clouds will do wonders .... I just had never put it together before I read her answer! Good luck... can't wait to see some great shots!

12-24-22-7:30am Both seedlings unfurled and tiny true leaves apear between. I removed the dome, very damp, and moved them closer to the light. The worst of the frigid cold moved east. The veg area is still drafty and cold. I'm going to try and plug some holes during the warmer, sunny days ahead. Cold nights are hard on the sativas. 12-26-22-Seedling look great. 12-27-22-7:30am Removed humidity dome and gave allthe seedlings a quarter turn. I grew 6 seedlings, 4 different varieties and I'm noticing differences. The Atomic Jelly Freebies from In House sprouted first and together, have a very thick and stocky main stem(both) which shows a blush purple on the sunny side(both). Compact, dark green, and uniform genetics. Tollerant of cold conditions. 👍

12-31-22 The first day of the 2nd week. The heat mat's been running full on, esp. at night. That helped dry the soil ball out. Today I watered, carefully dribbling around the edges and in the middle. The roots haven't started branching out yet. With no side roots yet to stabilize the soil, I'm careful not to wash the seedlings out. I did alittle anyway.. One is getting bigger than the other. NO roots emerging at bottom of grow bag. Removed them from the glass bowl and placed on perlie that covers heat pad. Compared to Deluxe Sugar Cane, Platinum Garlic and the Cannarado Chem x Chem/Haze, all started the same time, they are sturdy with dark, pleated little leaves, flashing purple stems, and 1/4 the height of the others. Not alot of top growth going on. I'm using row cover and overurned conatiner to insulate root zone. Cooler shoot/wam root environment. 1-2-23 Fertilized both seedlings with Peter's blossom booster 10-30-20 @ 1 tea/gal. 1-3-22 Atomic Jelly #1 rooted out the bottom and side of grow bag. Also first leaves getting bigger. AJ#2 kinda sitting there. It's facing the cold air draft so I positioned the therometer probe under neath, I'm thinking the draft is cold and evaportion off the grow bag is cold...Maybe it's cold.

1-6-23 First day of week 3. The photo tells the story of Atomic Jelly. Even though it was the first to sprout, the growth is consistantly much smaller, compact and attractive. I moved the seedlings away from the edge, now there are grow bags on every side. One, Atomic Jelly #2 is very small. I'm determined to grow them both to harvest, you never know. 1-7-23 7:30am I moved a neighboring leaf that was encroaching on my little AJ's airspace. The big seedlings get soaked almost every day now. I wish the AJs would grow and fill the soil with roots so they will dry out for a bit; they ut them on the are susceptible to over watering. The 6 seedlings are crammed together to stay warm. The color and sturdiness are good so I rule out not enough nutrients. Because I don't have any drains, I use trays with perlite and evaporation, overwatering is a constant problem. My grow tend to be too wet rather than too dry. 5:00pm-Convinced a wet root zone is limiting growth, I lifted them from their slot and placed them on folded dish towels. The towels will pull water from the bottom of the grow bag, in a couple hours the towels will be wet to the edge. That vacating water will be followed by O2 rich air in the root zone. I'll but them back on the heat mat for the night later. In a couple days I'll see if I was right. 1-8-23 I hung the towels to dry last night when I put the seedlings back on the heating mat. This morning they still felt heavy so I put them on the dry towels again. After 2 hours the towel were damp and the grow bags felt lighter. I put the seedlings back on the heat mat. 1-9-23 AJ #1 & #2 look bigger, have a sheen to AJ#2's leaves in just 24 hours of dryer medium. Maybe they like it on the dry side? They are getting more light now that the bigger & taller seedlings were transplanted and moved. Whatever works.

1-13-23 First day of week 4. AJ#1 looks great, has leaves that are puckered and thick like spinach. the roots were trimmed preparing it for potting on later this week. I continue to put both on the dish towel every third day or so then let it go over night on the dry side. Seems to work. AJ#2 is small. But just as healthy and vibrant. They get constant feed of 10-30-20 @ 1/3 tea/gal. 1-16-23 Potted on Atomic Jelly #1. 1-17-23 AJ#2 is making some moves! I dropped the grow bag into a 4" square pot, something I saw on Grow Diaries, and roots just exploded. I'm looking for corresponding top growth and then I'll pot on. I watered in the morning and let drain onto bed of perlite and placed on dish towel in afternoon to pull the excess water out of the bottom third of grow bags. This creates the perfect environment for advancing roots I hope my faith in the breeder will be rewarded with beautiful flocked cannabis. A LOT of Jelly Breath genetics on both sides.

1-20-23 First day of week 5. ATOMIC JELLY #1 is starting to fill out. The leaves grow thick and puckered. AJ#2 has not shown the same characteristics yet. I've never grown a cannabis that displays to such extreme. I'm taken. Row cover every night, spread out under lights during the day. 1-21-23 I watered without fertilizer this am, let drain onto perlite and placed both seedlings on a dishtowel till towel was wet. Put them back on heat. 1-24-23 Watered with 0.3 tea/gal fertilizer, let drain a few hours and put on dry dishtowel. When they feel lighter to lift, I put them back on heat mat and snuggled the pots in with insulation. They look good but they are smaller than Platinum Garlic, Deluxe Sugar Cane and the Chem Haze(Cannarado) hybrid I call Radio Chem, all started at the same time.

1-27-23 First day of week 6- AJ#1 shows leaf tip burn and I expect it is caused by too much nitrogen. This time of the year the tap water runs cold and doesn't always disolve the fertilizer. AJ#1 may have gotten the last of the jug with an over dose of fertilizer. It makes sence because the other plants are fine. I think it will grow out of it. These crazy thick leaves are amazing and its' gotten better. They are producing extra leaflets that look like a crested chicken. The thickness, puckering, dark green, stout, compact habit of Atomic Jelly remind me of polyploid varieties. 1-28-23 First Pistil on AJ#1 1-29-23 Took 4 small lower shoots as cuttings and put in jam jar w/water to condition for a few days, removed lower leaves 1-30-23 Removed side nodes on AJ#2. It grows so small that I won't grow it again from cuttings. I'm going to pot on and bloom out this seedling

2-8-23 AJ#1 has recovered from the over fertilizing and is branching nicely after I took the top 4" as a cutting. I kept going back to the over fertilizing issue in my head. I thought to calibrate the plastic teaspoon I keep in the fertilizer jar. I grabed my stainless set from the kitchen drawer and took a scoop of the 10-30-20 I use. I gave the teaspoon a tip to form a slightly rounded top and poured it onto the plastic spoon and took a mental picture. Now I know what a teaspoon is and I'm amazed at how forgiving the plants are, especially cause they were still in late seedling stage. I gave 2.5-3 tea/gal.-3 times recommended amount. Now that the plants are bigger and transitioning to a maure state, I think I can give them 2 tea/gal once a week with clear water as standard. 2-9-23 AJ#2 got a soft apical pinch leaving 8 shoots

2-15-23 The AJs have grown into their new grow bags and are showing a nice flush of growth. I fertilize once a week with 1 tea/gal 10-30-20 and try to keep them on the dry side by sill using the dish towel to pull water from AJ#2 this week. AJ#1 is directly in high intensity zone under light on the floor. I inverted a pot and put it on top to raise it up to meet canopy of adjacent plants. Looks great! Does it look like Jelly Breath? I'll evaluate it next week for potting on. It looks like I germinated two distinct pheno types. That's going to be great fun to tract and the ultimate critique smoke. Both are scheduled to move to flower March 16-20 and want them rooted out in larger pots before. I'll be potting on no later than March 1.

2-27-23 The two AJs started to pick up steam. They go to the flowering room March 20. I'd love to move a bigger plant in cause I don't know when I'll grow this strain again. I like to pot on no later than two weeks before flipping the switch. i'll contine disbudding with out removing the subtending leaf. And if It looks good I'll pot on. I fertilize once a week with 10-30-20. ,The plants are on the floor tray with a heat mat. On AJ#2 I removed the 6 lowest side shoots, careful not to remove the leaf, leaving 4 big strong top shoots. i put the cuttings in water to condition, in a couple days I'll stick in a propagation sponge. 3-1-23 I'm going to pot on AJ#1 to a 5 gal grow bag today. That will be the final pot on 3-2-23 Instead of potting on I found a spot in the flowering room for AJ#1.

3-5-23 Atomic Jelly moved to Flowering room! A recently added travel date forced me to the Atomic Jellys to the flowering room. I want them finished, dried and cured before I leave. My flowering room is packed so I had to get creative. Who else has faced this problem? The Grapefruit Diesel are finishing up: yellow, rubbery stems, leaves with petioles yellowing, most of the pistils are brown and the plant is getting frosty. It is scheduled for harvest March 20. So I rearranged a plant and 'underplanted' it with the Atomic Jelly. It takes about a week to settle down, register the new photoperiod and initiate flowering. The ideas is it will come up from underneath and start the blooming process, I'll harvest the Grapefruit Diesel leaving the AJ in full light to develop strong buds. I'll save two weeks.

3-11-23 Over night AJ#1 BUDDED UP. I was still looking for pistils. Continues to be a beautiful plant. Now that it's budded I need to harvest the grapefruit diesel next door and give it more room/light. Remember what a small but strong seedling it was? 3-15-25 AJ#2 PISTILS! but still no buds. Taller, no zig-zag, thicker stems, The way the side shoots branch out like a bottle brush and leaf quill pattern are the same.

3-21-23 It's been several days since I harvested the Purple 63 next to the Atomic Jelly #1. I spread it out and moved the AJ#2 to the spot. I watered the first day and added CO2 to the garden room. With the light and good air the plants took off. I fertilized today(Tuesday) and will again Saturday adding nutritional support during this big flush of growth. The buds are coming strong supported by a full canopy of factory leaves and good root system. I'm using unfolded large paperclips to train the main stem down and out, making room and concentrating hormones that trigger the development and elongation of small side shoot. After a week I remove the tie down, then a week later I'll but it back on. I remove the shoots the face down and some fan leaves that face up and shade buds, tow or three of each this week. The two seedlings are very different. Both have excellent genetics.

4-4-23 AJ#1 is starting the big shed and today I went in and removed all the fan leaves under the wire and many above. It uncovered many tiny buds that I missed removing last week. I'll go in with snips and take them out tomorrow. I adjusted the canopy with paper clips and watered well. Now that the leaf shedding has begun, I'll lower the fertilizer to 1 tea/gal and cut back on water. Everything looks like I expect. Now is the hardest time for me: finishing flowering and bulking. AJ#2 has not shown signs of the big shed yet.

4-11-23 It's just the waiting game from here on in. AJ#2 still has not started the big shed. AJ#1s' flower has a narrow conical shape followed down the stem by small buds in each axis creating a bottle brush effect. Bright white trichomes against forest green leaves.

@ipoopcandybars, I'm growing 6 seedlings 2 Deluxe Sugar Cane, 2 Atomic Jelly, 1 Platinum Garlic and 1 from Cannarado Genetics a Chem x Chem/haze unnamed. Maybe the good folks at In House can offer some cultural advise? One of my all time favorite clones, I kept for 2 years, was a Barney's Farm freebie 'Peyote Critical'. My favorite seed comes in breeder's packaging. I have an open veg area with a propagation tray and a seperate 9'x6.5' flower room, no floor drains, i use large trays and evaporation( an old coal room near the boiler). The walls are tripple brick and are warm in winter and cool in summer. Colorado has a 12 plant max limit for personal use. I usually bloom 6-9 at a time. I'm anxious about taking on In House varieties in my rudimentary set-up. Yikes!

@CannaAnna, Same I got them as freebies, and had same results as you when trying to look it up! i was like weird I cant find anything on it, was excited to find your diary! I have too many seeds to grow ahead of this! i should really do the freebies first! currently have Gorilla Zkittlez 4+ weeks in flower, and next i plan to SCROG out 2 Garlic Budder next! Wish i had more tents! Dont forget about this! im excited to see the journey!
