~Week 1/ 1-7 days from sprout ~Overall: ~VPD: Currently at about 1.2 according to my meter. However, the humidity inside the domes should be higher. VPD inside is pretty close to the higher end of ideal currently ~DLI: Have my DLI set to 24. I will increase it as needed ~Feeding: First feeding won't be until around week 4 ~Watering: Using a blumat watering system for the first time. I am also spraying the seedlings every day. Day 0 notes: Popped the seeds into the ground today at around 5:30 pm. If they have not sprouted by the end of the week, I will plant some vegetables in place of that cannabis plant. Everything is looking pretty ideal today. Dug holes 1/4 inch deep and put some mycorrhizae in there. I then put in the seeds and covered the seeds with soil. At this point, I used a spray bottle to wet the surface of the soil well. I then took 5 humidity domes and sprayed them with water on the inside. I placed these domes over where the seedlings will be. Over the next few days my job is to rewet the inside of the domes, make sure the blumat is functioning correctly, and make sure all growth is healthy. Day 1 notes: No seeds above the soil today which is EXPECTED given the fact they were planted not even 20 hours ago. If they had popped by now I would be concerned LOL. That being said, today I rewet the domes, sprayed the surface of the soil, and added a humidifier to the tent to boost humidity. As mentioned yesterday, if any of the seeds do not pop, then the empty pots will have vegetables planted in them. If within a week, no seeds have popped, I will be calling Mephisto LOL. Right now its looking like lettuce and carrots would both be a great option to fill any empty pots. I asked someone about tomatoes but they said that the tomato plants would likely outgrow the cannabis plants and invade their space. Day 2 notes: Seeds were planted less than 48 hours ago. I would expect the seeds to start showing themselves above soil tomorrow or the day after. Today I rewet the soil, rewet the domes, and the tent was good to go. Day 3 notes: No sprouts today still. Today is about the first day I would expect any sprouts. It would be reasonable for seeds to sprout sometime within the next 3 days. Same pattern as yesterday. Rewet domes, refilled humidifier, and rewet soil. Day 4 notes: November and Romeo both sprouted(back right and front bottom right). The others have not sprouted yet. I followed the same process as the past few days. Rewet domes, refilled humidifier, and rewet soil. I also noticed that two of my pots fed by the blumat were pretty dry so I increased their flow by approximately half of a triangle. Looks great and very easy to care for at this stage. Day 5 notes: Three total sprouts above ground today and two lump in the soil. I reckon that the other two seeds will be fully sprouted by the end of the week. Let the grow begin. Same process today as the other two days. Rewet domes, refilled humidifier, and rewet soil. Humidity and temps are in a good zone for these seedlings. Day 6 notes: 4/5 seeds sprouted today. I looked at the seed that is not sprouted and exhumed it from the dirt. It had not germinated, so I planted it in a slightly different area a little deeper and hopefully it will sprout within the next few days. If not, I think carrots will be my best bet for plants to grow alongside cannabis. A lot of people have hated on the idea saying that I would be willingly introducing a higher chance of pests for no reason, but I disagree. I will be caring for the vegetables the same way I care for my cannabis so why would it make a difference? Some people have also been saying that cover crop is useless indoors. I believe that at the least it'll increase moisture retention therefore increasing mycorrhizal mass. It could also fix nutrients for the plants and give them some nutrients. However people have been saying cover crop indoors will do just the opposite, and leech valuable nutrients away from the cannabis. Regardless, I am going to try it and see if I notice anything, positive or negative. Only plant not sprouted is the top left. Day 7 notes: Good end to the week. Four out of the five seeds have taken sprout and the remaining seed has been replanted. If it will sprout, it will do so in the next 5 days. I may have accidentally damaged the roots of one of the seedlings when I added a wire for support, but monitoring the seedling over the next few days will tell me. Same process as the past 6 days has been followed today as well. End of week summary: Going well. 80% sprout rate, auto watering system is working well, and the sprouts are looking healthy. ~Week 2/ 8-14 days from sprout ~Overall: ~VPD: Around 0.6-1.4 ~DLI: Sitting around 27-31 ~Feeding: First feeding will be day 15 of seedling stage, or possibly veg. Have not fully decided yet. ~Watering: Blumat auto watering system. Watering in amendments by hand. Day 8 notes: Looking solid today. I followed the same process as the past few days. I will be watching the one remaining un-germinated seed to see when it germinates. I also decided to plant some cover crop today and water it in with some saponin. Not much to do over the next few days. Day 9 notes: Looks good. No issues. The four sprouted plants are quite frankly very healthy and seem to be thriving. Rewet one dome, the only dome that's left, sprayed the soil on the top of each pot, and refilled the humidifier. Day 10 notes: Looking good today. Growth finally starting to become a little bit more rapid. The cover crop, which was only planted 2 days ago, has already sprouted. Some of it remains unsprouted or underneath the soil but its growing really well. The ungerminated seed remains not sprouted as of right now. Day 11 notes: Looks good. Growth becoming more and more rapid as said yesterday. The cover crop seems to be taking off at this point, 3 days from sowing the seeds. Everything is looking really good right now. If my 5th plant does not sprout in the next maybe 2 days then I will plant some strawberries in its place I believe. Day 12 notes: Looks good today. Four sprouted plants doing well. I have exhumed November again, and it has not sprouted. I put it in a little cup of water. If it germinates in the next two days then I will replant it. Cover crop seems to be popping more and more by the day. Day 13 notes: Looks good today. As it has every other day. At this point, I believe the seed I have named "November" was never viable. It was in perfect conditions for like 9 days, and did not even germinate, whilst every other seed did. It STILL has not sprouted after sitting in a vial of water for 24 hours. I am gonna give it a little more time, but if it does not sprout I have decided I will plant Royal Chantenay carrots in its place. Day 14 notes: Looks good. November still not germinated. The seed is likely not viable. All the other plants are doing well, as are the cover crops that have been planted. The outside edges of the pots have no cover crop, and I believe it is because the moisture is pulled from the sides too fast. I gave the outside a good spraydown today to get some more cover crop growing. End of week summary: Looks good. No issues. One of the seeds appears to not have been viable but we will see as a few more days pass. Overall though this was a great first week of veg. Misc. comments:

~Week 3/ 15-21 days from sprout ~VPD: Looks good Not the perfect VPD, but its also not terrible. Sitting right between 0.8-1.2 ~DLI: Around 30ish now. Will increase as plants grow into the light ~Feeding: Will be fed soon. I need to refer to my journal from last grow before I decide when to feed ~Watering: Auto watering system. Also hand watering w/ pressure sprayer as deemed necessary Day 15 notes: Looking good today. November is officially not viable. This is pretty disappointing as all I heard about Mephisto was praise, yet only 80% of the seeds I planted germinated. So far, they are not doing great in my books. If Mephisto sees this and wants to send some free seeds reach out lol. I had November under the soil for about 7 days, and then in fresh water for three days continuous. Every other seed germinated, November did not. I will be planting some Royal Chantenay carrots in place of November. The other plants are looking good though, and so is the cover crop that I have planted. Day 16 notes: Not checked today. Day 17 notes: Looking good today. Did the 1st top dress. I used 1/4 cup of 5-2-4, and 1/2 cup of worm castings. I will say that I did notice that it was certainly more difficult to top-dress with the cover crop in the way, but I did manage it. I decided to top-dress early because last grow I encountered an N deficiency in early-mid flowering. The plants are looking super healthy. About day 20 I will be planting the carrots. They are supposed to be 60 days seed to harvest, and these Ripley's OG x Strawberry Nuggets cross should be finished in about 58-63 days. Leaning towards the 63 day mark currently. Day 18 notes: Looks good today. Refilled humidifier and took some pictures. Day 19 notes: Looks great today. Refilled humidifier and took some pictures. Should probably trim some of the cover crop soon. Day 20 notes: Looks good. Will chop some cover crop tomorrow when I plant the carrot seeds. Day 21 notes: Plants are healthy but very small. They should start flowering within the next week. I do not expect yield to be very high from this tent and I am very glad I planted 5 seeds. Also chopped the cover crop today to use as a sort of mulch layer. End of week summary: Good week. Plants are small but look healthy. Misc. comments: 1/6/23 today I reamended the soil I had just pulled from my 4x4 yesterday. All of it is reamended, and will be ready to go in a few weeks.

~Week 4/21-27 days from sprout ~VPD: Pretty good. About 80F/65%RH ~DLI: Still between 30-40. I am letting plants grow into the light ~Feeding: Will not be fed again until day 42 or so ~Watering: Automatic Day 21 notes: Tent not checked. Serving time in trim jail. Day 22 notes: Tent not checked. Serving time in trim jail. Day 23 notes: Tent not checked. Serving time in trim jail. Day 24 notes: Pictures taken. DLI around 30-35. Day 25 notes: Looks good today. Finally out of trim jail. I refilled the humidifier, sprayed each plant with some saponin mixed with kelp extract, and did some training to each plant. They are all growing healthy and strong. Also refilled my auto-watering system today. Day 26 notes: Looking good today. No issues. Refilled humidifier. Day 27 notes: Looks great. More training done today, but the plants are growing very well and vigorously. End of week summary: Pretty good week. My only complaints are that the plants are a bit smaller than I would like at this period in time, but they do all look healthy and are responding well to the training they have received Misc. comments: Potted up soil for my 4x4 today. Soil looked and smelled really good.

Grow Questions

I have been growing for the past two years, and plan to do so even in my apartment. It is a fully legal state. How realistic is this? I will be running a carbon filter, but the tent still smells terrible when opened to refill humidifiers, etc. Have you had any issues with this?

Well, I live in an apartment in an old farmhouse in a fully legal state... Now, it's MY old farmhouse but I have 3 people/families I share the building with .... I don't have extractors or any of that fancy, expensive stuff and sometimes my tenants can smell it and sometimes they can't... it all depends on the strain I'm growing. I honestly don't see the problem here, ESPECIALLY if you live in a fully legal state and you do your best to mitigate the issue of the odor. My tenants can "complain" by moving out.... but they've not chosen to do so... and one guy has been here almost 7 years now! The only places where they can smell the weed is outside, on the porch... the smell does not permeate their apartments even though one tenant lives directly above me and another lives right next to me... So that's MY experience... if you're really concerned about it, talk to your new neighbors... explain what it is you do... you might find some of them really interested and those that show any kind of concern, make some kind of attempt to work out any potential problem - BEFORE it happens... Good luck!

~Week 5/ 29-35 days from sprout ~VPD: ~DLI: Still between 30-40. Allowing the plants to grow into the light ~Feeding: Will feed again around day 42 ~Watering: Automatic Day 29 notes: Looks good today. Nice and healthy vigorous growth. The plants are also started to have several nodes at about the same height thanks to the training. Day 30 notes: Looks good. Did more training today. The plants are looking very healthy and happy. Also had the lights off for this picture today for no reason. Day 31 notes: Things are going well. The watering system is providing adequate water which actually seems to be quite a bit even at this stage of growth. Day 32 notes: Not checked Day 33 notes: Not checked Day 34 notes: Not checked Day 35 notes: Not checked End of week summary: Good week but not much done and tent rarely checked Misc. comments: Tent operated itself this week essentially

~Week 6/ 36-42 days from sprout ~VPD: 0.8-1.6 ~DLI: 35-40 ~Feeding: Will be feeding this week I believe ~Watering: Auto watering, except when I feed Day 36 notes: Looks good. Definitely need to trim the cover crop soon. I will do that maybe tomorrow, and also top-dress the plants. The plants have grown a lot and seem very healthy. The only thing that concerns me currently is that the plants had pretty droopy leaves when I opened the tent today. I think I will increase the water-flow to the plants. Day 37 notes: Not checked Day 38 notes: Not checked Day 39 notes: Not checked Day 40 notes: Looks good today. Lots of growth, plants are healthy, and they are well into flower. Day 41 notes: Looks good today. I top-dressed today, and watered as well. I also chopped the cover crop down again to use as a sort of mulch. The plants are looking really healthy, though some of the bottom leaves are yellowing a bit. Day 42 notes: End of week summary: Misc. comments:
