I think the key to big auto yields is a strong start, so the first couple of weeks will be under lights at 20/4 schedule, then into the greenhouse

Such a compact plant, but growing fast! The other plant is The White OG from Seedsman, it will stay under the light.

And she is out into the sunshine! Immediately started to stretch out, I don’t know if it’s the change in environment or the start of flowering stretch or both. Really happy with the growth. This is my second autoflower and it is looking like a much better plant

Definitely well into the flowering stretch now, it’s going to be a good plant if all goes well…

The white fluffies are making an appearance now. As you can see I’m struggling to keep up with her water needs. Feeding is mostly home made worm juice and seaweed brew so far, I’ll have to introduce some flowering nutes now

Northern lights is described as low odour in flower and that is the case here. There is a light fruity, pine, meadow hay fragrance in the greenhouse. Flowers are bulking up and showing some trichomes. It is early summer here (New Zealand) and temperature control might be the biggest problem in coming weeks

After a long run of wet weather, with a leaky greenhouse, the dreaded budrot made an appearance. It can be hard to stop once it is in, but I have things in my favour now: 1) I spotted it early 2) Sunny days and lower humidity 3) Northern Lights is considered a hardy, mould resistant strain 4) I cut out all infected material then sprayed the whole plant with sulphur. 5) I have moved it out of the greenhouse for now to ensure plenty of air flow and maximum light. I’m hoping the higher light intensity will encourage the buds to produce more resin, terpenes and cannabinoids, so boosting the plants own defences

Five weeks into flowering. This is the first plant I have grown without any form of training other than plucking off the odd leaf covering a bud. I’m really enjoying seeing it grow into its natural shape

With 3-4 weeks of flowering still to go, how worried should I be about rapid yellowing? I have kept feeding, i know she is rootbound and I havent checked pH. Do some plants just yellow earlier in flowering or should I act?

At 3-4 weeks of flower left, I usually don't worry too much about leaf discoloration personally. That all being said, at the end of flower, many plants have reduced nutrition needs and and start pulling resorces from the rest of the non flowering parts of the plants (i.e. the fan leaves), and it looks like that is what is happening here. If this plant truly does have 3-4 weeks. I would expect to aim at a harvest closer to 3 weeks as this just looks like this plant is super healthy and just coming to the end of it's life. I would suggest stopping feed in a week or two, or even just spacing out the feeding (i.e. if you are water feeding, instead of 2times a week, move to 1 time a week) and seeing how that works for you. With this many fan leaves at this stage of flower, It is honestly not uncommon for plants to do this. Best of luck! -DJ sunstone

Well after 2 weeks of sunshine the rain came back, and so did the budrot. Even with the buds being kept dry in a patched up greenhouse I have had to prune a lot off, and I am still finding new mouldy bits. It’s not ready to harvest yet! More rain is forecast. It might need to come inside for a few days. Just gotta keep it alive for two more weeks…

It is curing now. Initial tastes give a good relaxing body stone, really nice. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops after a month of cure

The dreaded bud rot just would not give up, every day I would find more to cut out. It looked like I was going to lose everything, so I cut my losses and harvested, probably a week or two early. Damn humidity. I think a good cure will give me some decent smoke though. It was a fun grow and would have been fantastic if the weather played ball. Thanks Seedsman, I think I’ll try Green Crack Auto next time for a sativa kick

Hey bud just a few tips on green house growing. Do you have fans for air flow? Do u have an exhaust fan for when it gets too hot? Do you spray ur plants with organic pesticide fungicide?(“dr zymes” is safe on blooming cannabis plants) there are other brands. But more important than spraying is air flow and pruning defoliation before buds can get bud rot

Not sure how to change description from sativa to indica, but it is well and truly indica as expected.
the end.
