I don't know anything about the right time to harvest. Although i researched and inspected the trichomes, it's hard to tell if they are ready yet. I found that maybe less than 5% of the trichomes have brown spots but in my point of view in general they don't really look that milky. Also had to fight with humidity, especially 3-4 days after watering (61-67%). I stopped to give them nutes and I'm planing to harvest next sunday. If anyone could tell me if they are ready to harvest, I would really appreciate a comment :) Cheers and happy growing
I almost harvested way too early. After I decided to wait I did more research and learned a few things. The golden rule for harvesting is that if you think they are ready, give them one more week. They have a two week window in which to harvest, so adding one more week will put you into that window (this was from high times). Before growers used a scope to inspect tricomes, they had a good way to tell when the plant was ready. If it had a lot of the white hairs (pistils) coming out of the buds (especially the main colas..don't base it on the smaller popcorn buds), then the plant needed more time. Your pics look to me as if you could use two more full weeks, at least 10 days...but given all those white pistils, I would give her two full weeks. I mean you can see what she looks like this weekend, and then flush her for a full week, that would be minimum in my book. I am still a new grower, so seek out more advice, but you will see what I'm talking about in 7 days if you are patient. Its gonna be good either way. One other thing to consider is your high humidity. Try to bring that down even if you have to buy some bathroom dehumidifier hang bags. I've seen two or three grows on here where the humidity was 65-75 range and they got some bud rot/mold. Keep inspecting all your colas and look for something that looks like a small cobweb, or strange dark discoloration. Most of the damage only effected the main colas from what I recall, but either way keep an eye out for that. Reduce that humidity if you can. Your going to have a great harvest!
@@pottymcpotface, great job! Yeah I agree that airflow will be the key. I just wanted you to be aware of the possible issues as neither of the 2 or 3 people noticed until harvest and they lost part of their crop because they weren't inspecting the colas and let humidity get too high. I bet those hang pillows will work just fine. I've got two in my bathroom and they keep that humidity way down.
@BeefWellingtons, Thanks for your suggestion. I ordered some dehumidifer pillows today. Hopefully my buds are still okay. I can't see or smell any signs of mold so far. The humidity never reached more than 66% RH in flower stage. I read that you shouldn't reach more than 60% but I also read that some people were just doing fine with RH around 65% with good airflow.
Anyways good luck with your grow!
Looking good bro ! 😊 Nice work 👍🏻 It's hard to tell harvest time when not behind the scope, but 25% amber trichomes is rule of thumb for me. Depends on the strain and what you are looking for effect wise of course.. For example i take my white widow to minimum 50% amber, 75% if i can. Buy looking at your photos, i would say another 10-14 days till harvest. But only the scope will tell you when for sure. Try taking a bud sample and running the scope over it, it will make things easier for you than doing it on the plant. Good luck man 😊
Thanks for your advice! I'll take some sample buds this weekend and check if I should harvest or wait for a few more days. The spec sheet of the strain says 75-90 days of flowering until harvest and this weekend will be around day 60.
I'd personally say there's too many white hairs for her to be ready yet. You've still got atleast a week left more like 2 really depending on your environment. You won't go past it as long as you check the tricomes evey day make sure your checking them all over and not just the top buds
Is that one that is yellowing in it's own pot or part of another plant? It looks like you have 4 or 5 plants in there? My guess is that you have one plant that is having issues, cause all the rest look fantastic! Try to Google cannabis deficiency chart and match up the picture with your suffering lady, maybe that might help. Good luck!
@@@@pottymcpotface, good to know it's in it's own pot. I think you are correct about the sulfur deficiency, either that or nitrogen, but it looks more like sulfur. I did a little research, and all you need is Epsom salt. The simplest way to cure a sulfur deficiency is by using Epsom salts. All you have to do is water the plant with Epsom salts and wait until it gets better. Use one, maybe two teaspoons of Epsom salts per gallon of water. Research it, it's legit. Good luck!
@BeefWellingtons, Thanks for your advice. It looks like sulfur deficiency. I have 6 plants, 2 in 3.8L pots, 3 in 11L pots and one is just in a small pot (1L) because i didn't have enough space lol. The one with deficiency is in the small pot. I also used a different soil for it(BioBizz Light Mix, low in nutes) compared to the others (BioBizz All-Mix). I will just feed it the same like the other plants and see how it goes. Don't wanna spend more money for specific nutes.
Thanks :) I used a cheap USB microscope (50x-500x) which I ordered on Aliexpress :) it's not that nice but for getting a closer look on the trichomes it's good enough. Cheers
