Here we go for the first session. Hope it will be as easy as the first one was... finger crossed !
As I love sativas strains, Chocolate Haze seems a perfect choice to me. The grow tent in tall (2m) so the girls can grow till 1.6m more or less. With some training and topping, it should be ok.
Germination day 5 : 2/3. I decided to put a 4th Chocolate seed. If it germinates, it will be just 5 days younger. Nothing I can't deal with ! If it doesn't, never mind. Let's give it a try !
Germination day 9 : 4/4 ! Now it means that I have to deal with 7 pure sativas in 1m2…. I love chalenges 😁😅
Germination day 12 : The litle girls are growing gently. The second pair of leaves is coming, and I thing I'll turn diary into "week 1" on saturday with their first repotting. The 4th Chocolate haze is a bit small for repotting as she's 5 days late compared to the others. But, she grows fast and strong (maybe faster than the 3 others) and I think she'll make it ! We'll see.
D-15 : Repotting girls from a 1L hard pot to a 11.8L smartpot, turned light to 100%.
D-16 : Feeding with Biobizz, stop humidifier.
Everything is ok right now. Leaves are growing fast. They have a beautyful green color, I love this color !
D-20 : Everything seems to be ok.
Today, day 23 was the last repotting. Girls went from 11.6L to a 20L pot. Now there in the right place. In fact, just 3/4 have beene repotting because I didn't have enough Lightmix :/ My order is late, and I'm not really happy with that 😡
I planned to top the girls on wednesday or thursday. It will depends on how they will recover.
Actually, it's my first time with smartpots. If smartpots have a lot of advantages, repotting is not one of them ! I made a mistake : the plants were 60% dry, and abviously, it was not a good idea ! It should be clearly moist. Nextime I think I will water the girls 1 hour before repotting.
I hope it will be ok and they will recover from this tough moment.... Will see in a few days 😰😨
Anyway, I have generously watered them right after repotting with no nutrient. Juste clear water with the right Ph. As they are in some brand new light-mix medium, I thought they have enough nutrient for a at least 2 or 3 days.
D-25 : Everything is ok. Girls seems to have recover very well :) Anyway, I'll wait at least one more day before topping. The last Chocolate Haze (the one that was 5 days late), doesn't have 6 nodes yet and I would prefer to top each girls at the same time.
D-26 : Repotting the last one and topping everybody. Fingers crossed for the next couple of days... I also feed the girls right after the top. During the topping process, the plants were reduced from 19cm to 12cm.
D-29 : I made a mistake. I think the second top I did today was too soon. Only 4 days after the first one. What is done, is done. Now, let see what happend but, I'll wait more for the last top. I think I'll wait untill the new mains have at least 3 new real nodes.
On top of that, 2/4 of the plants have brocken branches because of too tough HST.
D-30 : Every thing is ok except that the new mains are really really really small.... It should be better in a couple of days.
D-33 : The one that have been broken during topping, still alive and looks pretty good, but she grow slower than the others. And more, the branch that have broken grows slower than the other one. That means that she's not symetrical anymore, and then, it's not good for the main-lining... I let her grow anyway. We'll decide later what we'll do with her. The others are getting back to a normal pace.
D-37 : Everyone looks good. I've made the last topping for those girls. There still some lST to do during the next week so the mains can grow the right way. Then, on the following week, I'll turn everybody to flowering mode and switch the light 75% then 100%.
I noticed that they are drinkning a bit more now.
D-43 : Everything still ok ! The LST is almost over, and I think I'll turn to flowering mode winthin 10 days max.
D-45 : Here it is : the last week before flowering. I'll let the girls grows until 35cm ans then I'll switch.
For now, everybody looks fine. Leaves are beautyful with deep green with absolutly no default due to any deficency are under/over watering or light burn or .... no ! Everything is perfect till now !
D-48 : I have turned the light to flowering mode today. It's the start for 10 long weeks. Light schedules is 6PM to 6 AM. Even if the girls are absolutly perfect till now, I now that it is now that hormonal changes occures and so the nutrients needs. As I am using biobizz, here what is nutrients plan from now :
- replace Biofish by BioGrow 2ml/L
- BioBloom 1ml/L
- TopMax 1ml/L
- BioHeaven 2ml/L
- Alg-A-Mic 1ml/L
- ActiVera 2ml/L
- Microbes 0.2g/l once a week.
D-56 : The girls are great, beautyful and starting to stretch fast. No deficiency, no watering or feeding trouble, the temperature is a bit high but this variety are really comfortable with temperatures between 27 and 30°C, so I maintain it around 27-29°c during the day time.
The horizontal space is fully occupied already. But, I hope the Choco Haze won't be too bushy, even if I'll continue to reasonably defoliate to let light and fresh air go through the canopy.
As I start the second flowering week, the flowers should apear... can't wait to see the first ones !
One of the four ChocoHaze is growing a bit slower. What is weird, is that it's the one in the center of the grow room. Isn't it supposed to be the one that have the bigest amount of light ? I guess it comes from this specific phenotype.... we'll see, maybe she'll explose in the next days ! Who knows !
D-70 : Chaco Haze. They just look amazing, even 1/4 is very small (about 40cm). At this stage she should be 60 or 70 cm high... Anyway, the flowers are doing great. I really hope the will continue to grow. I dream of a grow room full of flowers between 1 and 1.4 m high ! Still 8-9 weeks to go, so they have time :)
D-83 : plants are not growing that much, but buds are starting getting fatter. I put the net on so the buds can grow straight up. And now, I feed them every 2 days with 2 litters each. They defenatly need that.
D-88 : One Choco Haze shows deficiency symptoms. After investigations, it appears to be a Calcium deficiency. As it is the most advanced plant regarding the others, she's the first to show this sign. So I decided to raise calcium form 0.5 to 0.8ml/l for the futur feedings. For all the plants.
As all plants have their leaves tips turning dry and brown, I think we're not very far from the same deficiency for all plants.
D-89 : I've just raised the calmag level from 0.5 to 0.8 ml/l and cut off the leaves wearing calcium deficiency symptoms. Flowers growed a bit during last week but, most important, they got fatter :) It seams that 2L every 48h is a good pace for them.
D-96 : Something is going wrong. I see some spots on the leaves, and the big Chocolate Haze has very marked leaves. Deficiency or over nut ? I don't know. I decide to water them with just Calmag and Phed water for 2 or 3 times, and see what happend...
D-102 : Wow... it's getting worth... I don't really known what to do.... And it is a critical moment for the plant. Exactly the good timing to make them turning herma.... Not good at all....
D-104 : Last week, I noticed a problem related to the calcium OR to the Ph. I didn't know if it was a deficiency or an excess. So I tried to just wetered girls with the right Ph and A bit more of CalMag 0.8 > 1.2/L. We'll see this week if It was the good choice. fingers corssed !
D-110 : As Chocolate Haze 1/4 start to show nanners and her trichomes are mostly mature, I desicided today to remove her from the main room to settle her in the small room for 48h of black out. For her, the harvest and the drying process will start in 48h from now.
Quiet easy to grow. I had I completly foxtailed. I had problems with Ph but that's my fault. The harvest is easy and quick. The buds are really nice aand compact.
