As soon as the plant was born, I had to manually remove the seed shell with a toothpick to allow the first leaves to come out. I know from experience that it is crucial to remove the shell as soon as possible because the plant may not survive. I started straight away with good amounts of fertilizer to stimulate good growth and set the lamp until it reached around 30k lux on the leaves. When the plants will be a little bigger I will approach again.
The plant is growing very well. I topped the plant between the third and fourth internode, in order to divide the main branch in two and, at the same time, I cut all the excess plant parts (I therefore left only the 5-pointed leaves), waiting for the growth of the two new main branches. Don't warry about the health oh the plant, at this stage most of the nutrition is still taken up by the roots which is why I am giving a lot of rooting fertilizer. Now it is essential to be precise but if done right the result will be clearly superior to any other cultivation technique I have ever tried. After cutting, I bent the leaves with wire so that they grew horizontally. I will do the same thing with the main branches, in order to make the future branches as far apart as possible. If they grow too close together, when the secondary branches appear, it will be very difficult to keep the plant tidy and make sure that each one receives the same amount of light. For this reason it is essential in this phase to be perfectly symmetrical: the objective will be to create a sea of peaks that are all the same and all at the same height. I'm going to repeat this operation 2 or 3 times more. Stay tuned 🤙🏻
The plant is responding very well to the treatments and the more time passes, the stronger it proves to be. During the week I cut the main branches two more times, resulting in 8 main branches. I could go on like this indefinitely but I'd say it's enough. Next week I will consider whether to get to 16 branches or stop there and let the plant grow up to the scrog net. If you use a main-lining tecnique I advise you to always be very careful when working on the plant, because the branches are very delicate and could break: the goal is always to have all the branches equal at the same distance from the lamp, so as to have only perfectly identical buds. At the last cut I also thought of keeping the cut material to make clones. I planted them in the same soil of the mother plant so that they absorb humidity well: if they don't dry out in a week, it means they are alive and I will transplant them. I know it's not the best technique, but i really don't care about making clones. I don't have space to grow them together with the mother, so I'll give them away just in case. I stopped using root fertilizer this week, it's no longer needed. I'm very curious to see how it will grow!
The plant is in perfect shape, with 8 main branches growing symmetrically and I decided not to make another cut to get to 16. The next goal is to keep the symmetry and reach the network for phase 2: the screen of green.
What do you think?
The plant continues to grow very vigorously. Shortly, it will reach the net and I will begin to fold it in order to keep it underneath and prepare the way for the simultaneous growth in flowering of as many branches as possible. The goal is to take advantage of all the little space available in the grow box to obtain the most abundant harvest possible. In the meantime, I note with pleasure that the main branches have become very robust, an indication that they will have a lot of strength to create huge flowers
I have definitely chosen to keep 8 main branches. Now the plant is reaching for the scrog net, which I will use to deflect all the branches so as to fill every space in the box area. In the meantime, again thanks to the net, each branch will be kept at the same height, so as to send the plant into flowering without any branch being able to shade the others.
Last week of flowering. The plant grew very well and I proceeded to expand it along the entire area delimited by the net. I eliminated all secondary branches that didn't reach the net to avoid unnecessary waste of energy once flowering began. The 12/12 cycle begins next week 🤙🏻
First week of flowering. From now on I won't manipulate the plant anymore, because the branches are all in the light and in the correct position. I am putting fertilizers for roots and for rapid growth because they are essential in this first phase. Visually it's only slightly taller than last week, so I've only uploaded one photo. In a few weeks these branches will have to be covered with flowers
The plant is growing very fast, also thanks to the bud ignitor and the rooting fertilizers which I will continue to give until the end of the week. The main branches are arranged very well and have allowed the secondary ones to find enough space on the central side of the box (as you can clearly see from the photos). The first flowers are beginning to appear and the smell is increasing day by day: it looks really promising!
The flowers are starting to appear. I removed the root feeds and bud ignitor, replacing them with b-52 and nirvana. The resin is already clearly visible, a sign that when the plant is mature it will be covered with it
The plant has reached the maximum size for my grow box. It cannot grow more than that, because it would risk touching the lamp and getting burned. Each bud takes the light perfectly and the results of the processing in the vegetative phase are more evident than ever: the plant begins to fill completely with flowers and resin. Can't wait to see her fully matured!
The plant begins to have a strong smell. The flowers are getting bigger and bigger even though I have yet to start administering the ultimate weight gainer. Luckily it's stopping growing in height because the available space is definitely over!
Sixth week of flowering. The plant is in perfect condition and the slightly yellowing leaves show that most of the nutrients have been diverted to the flowers. The smell has gotten really strong and I couldn't be happier with it. From the seventh week I will start with fertilizers dedicated to the growth of weight of the individual buds, so that the flowers become many small balls. Some buds have become almost as tall as the lamp, but having pruned to have the tallest ones along the edges of the box, they don't risk getting burned. I'm going to make a little video next week to show how lush it is!
The plant has become really massive and the fruity smell it gives off is perhaps one of the most pleasant I've ever smelled. The plant drinks almost 2L of water per day. I changed the fertilizers by removing those not strictly necessary for the flower's energy, in order to make the plant use the vital lymph of the leaves, which will lose them further favoring the growth of the inflorescences. At the same time I added ADV Overdrive, a magnesium, phosphate and potassium based fertilizer which stimulates the weight gain of the flowers. For the hundredth day I decided to make a video, I'm definitely satisfied! I expect to cut the plant around the 10th week of flowering.
The flowers have visibly swollen this week. The plant drinks a lot of water, to the point that I have come to give it 2L a day! It is entirely covered in resin as can be seen from the photos taken with the flash and the smell it gives off is extremely intense with a fruity flavour. Now the trichomes are mostly milky white, so from next week I will start the flowless finish for the root wash. I think the plant couldn't have come better than this, I'm extremely satisfied and I really think I'll be able to exceed 200g of final product once dried. Comments?
Last week before cutting. I eliminated all fertilizers and only gave the flawless finish fertilizer. The smell of the buds is truly that of watermelon - I can't believe it! The plant never suffered and the result was exactly what I imagined. What do you think? In the next few days I will post the photos of the harvest!
A memorable harvest. The buds are all very high quality and cleaning them was easy as the pruning I did did not produce any popcorn buds. The flavor is among the most intense I've ever tried and it's a plant that I would recommend to everyone.
