1/26-Put in the paper towel and baggie at 85 degrees heat and it germinated 24 hours later.
1/27-Placed directly into coco coir
1/28-Seed shell is trying to break through
WEEK #2-Feb 5 to Feb 10
2/11-First 2 weeks have gone well with no issues. The plant is not nearly as big at this point as the other Mephisto plant (Sky Creme Smile) I'm growing but looks very healthy.
WEEK #3-Feb 11 to Feb 18
2/14-She's starting to lock in now.
2/15-Topped the plant between 4th and 5th node. Will monitor for any adverse effects.
2/16-Looks like she is showing no ill effects from topping. Still growing strong and looking healthy. Increased the nute load again to 5.9/1050 ppm
2/18-First 3 weeks went well. Plant is looking healthy. No adverse reaction from topping.
WEEK #4-Feb 19 to Feb 25
2/21-Doing some leaf tucking to expose lower leaves to light. Plant is responding nicely. Plant is starting to grow upwards now and looks like she will be pre-flowering in the next few days.
2/23-First signs of pistils emerging. Will start bloom nutes shortly and hope we hit the transition just right. So far she looks like she is going to be a winner.
2/25-First 4 weeks were textbook. She is starting to pre-flower right on schedule. Will beef up the nutes as she is showing no signs of distress. Moved her into the big tent now for flowering.
WEEK #5-Feb 26 to Mar 4
2/26-Leaf tucking
3/2-Plant is starting to grow up. Up to 8 inches now. Looking healthy and getting a nice even canopy with bud sites developing quickly. Looking good!
WEEK #5-Mar 4 to March 10
3/7-Plant is really flowering now and starting to stretch. Had a power blackout twice over the last few days so the plant lost damn near a full day plus worth of light. Seems to have come out ok though.
3/8-I saw what appeared to be a tiny bit of leaf chewing so I hit the plant with a light coat of neem oil solution as a precaution. Morning after detected no adverse effects. Plant continues to progress nicely.
3/11-Solid week of growth and bud development. Did some defoliating lower branches to see if we can really develop the top branches and get bigger buds.
WEEK #6-Mar 11 to March 17
3/13-Plant continues to grow nicely. Up to 15.5 inches now. Looking very healthy with full nute mix. Buds are developing nicely. So far this looks like another great Mephisto Genetics winner.
3/17-Buds are starting to kick in now. First signs of frosty trichomes. Saw some slight discoloration on some lower leaves so I did one mini flush w Ph only and a little bit of Cal Mag.
3/18-She is really starting to stretch now. Up to 20 inches now. She is looking very healthy at the 7 week mark. Buds are really starting to develop now with some frostiness visible. I did see something strange this week where the Ph of the runoffs (4.7 ph) was much lower than the inputs (6.5). There does not appear to be any adverse effects to the plant so far. So for now I'll keep making sure the inputs stay where they belong. I also did some more defoliation including cutting most of the lower branches to try and focus the plant's energy on the 8 main branches to see what impact that has on quality and yield.
WEEK #8-Mar 19 to March 25
3/19-Did mini-flush w Ph balanced water only to see if I could get runoff ppm and ph in sync. That reduced the ppm levels and the Ph levels were closer to 5.0.
3/20-Waited 24 hours to water this morning and the runoff Ph levels were at 5.1 and ppm at 960 which is now considerably below inputs (1250 ppm). Plant is looking very healthy and I think we managed to cleanout whatever acid buildup that was happening. Cut a couple more of the lower branches to focus plant energy on the 8 major branches. Buds are starting to stack now and I'm looking forward to seeing how this approach plays out with quality and quantity.
3/22-Runoffs are in sync now with inputs. I was watering 2X a day which I think was not allowing the roots to dry out a bit. Now I've switched to one big watering once a day. I think its allowed the roots to dry out a bit each day and the plant is looking very healthy. It has now stretched to 22 inches tall. Buds are starting to stack a bit. Each day I 'widen' the canopy a bit w LST to get as much light on the growing number of buds. This one is really starting to shape up nicely.
3/25-Solid week of growth. Buds are starting to stack nicely and getting frostier. Runoffs are good. She's looking good as we head into the last few weeks.
WEEK #9-Mar 26 to April 1
3/26-Did little mini-flush with Ph balanced water only to get runoffs in sync.
3/29-Looking good. Up to 24" now.
4/1-Solid week of growth. Buds are stacking nicely and starting to get frosty.
WEEK #10-April 2 to Apr 8
4/2-Added OVERDRIVE into the nute mix for next couple of weeks. Starting to really frost up now.
4/4-I decided to do a closer inspection of trichome development and was surprised to see that there were already some amber developing. Was not expecting that this early.
4/8-After 10 weeks things are looking good. The flowers are getting more dense and frosty now. Trichomes are starting to get cloudier but still have a ways to go.
WEEK #11-April 9 to Apr 15
4/10-Progressing nicely. Trichs are still not fully cloudy with hints of amber so far. I think she's still got 3 weeks left in her.
4/11-Did a little mini flush to correct low runoff Ph numbers
4/15-End of 11 weeks and the plant is starting to look like we are heading into the homestretch. A bit more frostiness and density on all the buds. Trichs are definitely cloudy and turning amber. But I think she has still got a couple of weeks to go.
WEEK #12-April 16 to Apr 22
4/17-Buds are getting more dense still have a ways to go. I think the plant still has another week to 10 days left in her. Will likely start flushing in the next couple of days. So far this plant has performed exactly to expectation and looks like it will be a pretty good yield. I'm betting 5-6 oz.
4/18-Started 7 day flush
4/21-Flush continues. Bit more amber trichomes. I think she's got another 7 days in her at least.
4/22-end of 12 weeks. Flushing continues. Starting to see more yellow leaves but still has a few days to go. I'll likely harvest in stages from the top and give lower branches more time in the light.
4/24-Did the last flush watering. Ppm down to 80. No watering for next 3-4 days then I'll harvest.
4/25-Saw hint of mold on one of the main colas so I decided to harvest all the main colas to be on the safe side. I'll let the lower branches go a bit longer.
4/26-Looks like I'll get 5-6 ounces when its all dry based on past experience. Grow went very smoothly. Going to let them dry slowly for 7-10 days. Final was 5.6 oz. Now curing for 4-6 weeks.
