I started both strains on August 20th,2018 soaking in a glass of pure filtered water for 24hrs after which I placed each strain on wet paper towel on diner plate and covered with another plate for 48hrs in the dark. All 4 seeds nicely rooted and were planted in soil on August 23,2018 at 5pm Eastern Time and put on a 24hr light cycle.
August 25,2018 The White Widows Broke Ground.
This should be an interesting grow as One Strain (White Widow Feminized) and (Gorilla Glue Feminized Auto-Flower) are grown on the same 24hr Veg light cycle stage for the longer White Widow period.
Lets see if the Auto-Flower automatic flower stage happens regardless of the 24hr light cycle
Today August 26,2018 Both Gorilla Glue Auto-Flowers broke the soil surface. Remarkable growth. I have the light 30in above due to heat and the fact i want to draw these girls to the light.
Sept 2,2018
The grow is going well. One gorilla glue #1 is showing sign's of overheating. Hooked up ventilation from grow room directly to our house Heat Recovery System. It's now pulling excessive heat out and putting it back into the house. might have to get a filter later on for the smell. I also have to bring fresh air in from outside with a damper as opposed to having the grow room door open. I am looking for a humidifier Today. Humidity is to low. A slightly used ultrasonic humidifier picked up off of Kiijii for $30 and pumps out 250ml/hr does the job just fine.
September 5,2018
41.5c outside 35.5c inside the booth with humidifier going strong 24hrs stabilized at 51 % I believe the heat and Hum have done wonders for Veg all Girls look healthy and I am going to give 2 girls a cut soon. Since this is my first time growing and never done a topping before is why i am only doing 2. One White Widow and not sure but going to top a Gorilla Glue Auto-flower.The Auto could be stunted but lets hope not.
September 6,2018
Cooler outside today 24c means cooler in the booth, 34C . Well she's done.Haircuts for 3 just couldn't do that last Auto-flower. the Auto that did get the modification was suffering with heat stroke. She now sits under the humidifier.
Sept 9,2018
We are into our 3rd week and the four plants look marvelous. Need to add a fresh air intake as the outtake runs through the HRV System and pulls a fair mount of CFM's. Good thing there is a hole to the outside when I had the oil furnace removed. should work out nicely with a flutter valve installed.
Sept 15,2018
Coming to the end of another week, Girls are growing, well like weeds. not sure if I might top again. next time! Heat has been up and down. Going to install carbon filter on intake to HRV System.
16-09-2018- Picture Day went well increased Nutrient level a little, still Hot but plants seem to like it. I am watering every 2nd day but go an extra day without feeding once a week.
17-09-2018- Transplant day For White Widow 1 and 2, It went well perfect timing as the root ball was just starting around the sides, Soil held up perfect and made transplanting easy.
21-09-18- White Widows are doing great after transplant. Lost power due to a tornado so hoping an hour in the dark didn't flip the girls over to Flower girls. I am hoping to turn over WW in 2 more weeks the Auto's will just have to deal with it. posted New Pics
23-09-2018
First day of week 5. The 4 girls spent some time outside due to loss of power for 2 days because of a tornado touchdown so I am hoping that they didn't turn to flower stage with at least 2 weeks left before a 12/12 cycle starts. there is some yellowing on some of the lower leaves but could be caused by the cool temps of 18c outside. But over all they all look good . the Gorilla Auto #1 is growing fast since being topped as Both White Widows are going slow since being transplanted into their forever home. We will see how they perform this week. New pics posted today.
30-09-2018
End of 5 Weeks, The 2 Auto are showing signs of flowering. Suffer my girls at least one more week to veg if not 2. Started to trim lower leaves and going to do a few clones of the WW before going to flower.
7-10-2018 All four are doing great, The WW's are pushing the 2ft range and the GG Auto's are Slightly Higher. The auto's are flowering nicely and the one that got topped is shooting for the moon, while the other is smaller but a lot fuller. I wonder which will produce more Bud. I have done 2 flushes on the GG's now I am adding 12g/gallon of this stuff ECOBLOOM 3-35-10 to these girls in the hopes of monster buds but maintaining another Veg week for all 4. These WW girls are still on FloraNova for one more week then 12/12 light cycle begins.
13-10-2018 Last day of the week and I shook it all up. GG Auto's were getting tall so I decided to make a net, I snapped a couple of stems /taped up but we shall see if training now is too late in the Veg stage?
I'm going one last week on Veg. It will be 8 weeks and 3 weeks more for Gorrilla Glue which the girls are taking a pounding on 24/24 cycle. Today will also be the last time the girls get pics taken outside of the booth so enjoy. Oh Ya 4 days Canadian Legal Weed becomes a reality!!!!!!!
14-10-2018
The 4 are surviving the ordeal yesterday being crunched and bent lost 1 Top. The flowered GG seamed to enjoy a little twisting, this morning most buds were pointed up that were once lower and hidden from the light but they are running into White Widow territory. Now the next grow will not be Auto Flower Mixed with Reg Fem's if I want to ScrOG it's the Canadian Way. Oh did I mention 2 days until Canadians Chilled and Mellowed.
17-10-2018 WEED IS NOW LEGAL IN CANADA But expensive. Girls are doing good White Widows are adjusting and recovering nicely. The 2 GG Auto are flowering and pointing upwards in anticipation of a new Light Cycle starting Sunday with a bulb change to HPS 940w Conversion bulb but they won't go into darkness until 7AM.
Made some improvements to the booth - Added a Charcoal Air Scrubber Filter inside, but because I had already put the screen in place over the girls I had to slice the opening a little and do the connection from the outside which worked out better anyways. Haven't noticed any smell in the house(only when the door is open) I also installed an Air Tiger unit Vented outside Which will run every 3hrs for 5 min which should take any potential for bacteria away. I included a few pics.
21-10-18
Veg stage is done, Switched now to HPS 940w 12/12. GG glue are flowering nicely and the space is now completely filled with green(sea of green) WW are to the back as they might need to get harvested before the WW. Took a few clippings for clones of the WW for a friend, hope they live.
28-10-2018
Filling in quickly, nice blend with the Gorilla Glue, managed to make a few clones last week before changing to 12 cycle. hope they can stand the wait until this round finishes in 8 weeks if not i will just re clone again off the clones lol
31-10-2018
Halloween and the girls are wearing their best costumes. GG are really starting to beef up, There are quite a few buds under the screen, would have been a ton better had i started training earlier on.
Some new pics of the progress. Enjoy!
1-11-2018
White Widows are showing signs of flowering and the Gorilla Glue are pumping it up
4-11-2018
WHITE WIDOW ARE DOING GREAT AND GORILLA GLUE'S ARE COMING CLOSE TO HARVESTING
7-11-2018
GG are slowly getting their leaves clipped off, soon I'll be ready to move tie some more Widows down once the GG are gone. New pics and Video. Enjoy!
This strain of Gorilla Glue was an easy grow. All seeds germinated and showed no signs of disease or bugs other than a few Daddy long Leg Spiders that got into the grow area. The Gorilla Glue Auto is a beautiful plant with a decent yield.
This strain was an easy grow and Topping Auto-flowers is a definite way to go if you want to reap the benefits of increased Buds. especially when tied down so they run along a Scrog net. I will do this at a younger age next time as it is a little more tricky to do when they are flowering. I broke a few stems tying them down but with a little masking tape they survived nicely. My overall experience for my first grow was awesome. Now my biggest problem with the harvest was with the location to dry my Bud" Didn't have one" couldn't dry them in the booth with a light cycle still going for the White Widows and of course the smell was an issue for sure. so what to do? well the problem was solved by making myself a dry containment system combined with ventilation and an AIR TIGHT environment. 1) Use an old bar refrigerator or camper icebox like I did they are air tight with a seal. 2) Cut out a 3" hole at the top for ventilation hose " Outside" Computer Case fan with a USB Conversion" find several video's on how to do this" 3) drill several Holes in bottom"to have air drawn upwards from case fan" if you have an icebox type or add a fan or 2 to the sides which of course will let light inside so you might have to use some more vent tubing"twist it a few times to make a coil should work" and attache to sides. 4) use I hooks inside to hang wire or Hang something like i have done. This will allow you to hang your bud upside down inside or you can attach rails inside and use mesh trays to lie the bud down. Your choice. This works Awesome with the venting going into the Grow booth where it is fitted with a Ozone Generator and Charcoal Filter. NO SMELL AT ALL. Hope you like it!
Well that completes the Harvest. I have included pics of the Bud in it's new home for about a week or so. i will then trim off the bark and weigh it all. Stay Tuned!!! Now to Make Bubble Hash!!0
18-11-2018
Now with the Gorilla Glue Harvested and hung I can now spread out the White Widow's a bit. i will have more pics later.
20-11-2018
I noticed some bleaching of the lower leaves after the Gorilla's were removed this is due to reverse osmosis so i have taken to the offensive with a little Cal hopefully this changes
23-11-2018
Today was the introduction of Homemade CO2 Using a Carboy Water Sugar Baking Soda and Yeast Working Great Now Grow Big Bud Ladies.
25-11-2018
The 2 White Widows are blooming just as they should stretched them out a little to take up some space left by the Harvested GG. They seem to have adjusted well. After the GG were taken out i noticed a Cal problem which i am trying to correct. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.
2-12-2018
Well we are into wk 15 and the WW buds are getting a little bigger and denser can't wait to harvest and put my clone into this booth. I seem to have halted the Mag and Cal problem from spreading. Not sure if the CO2 is working or not hard to tell. It's almost time to refresh the jug as the bubbles are slowing down now. Probably do this next weekend. Took a few pics Today.
5-12-2018
Did some Lolly Pops today .want those Buds to fatten up - we shall see stay tuned.
9-12-2018
The White Widows are budding nicely, added CO2 in the form of 1 gallon Corn sugar, Baking soda and Active Yeast, this is my second batch but first outside of the room it seems better and more room too. I fed the tubing through the wall and it sits about 8 in above the plants. not sure PPM but I am hoping it works.
11-12-2018
Well i figure I have around 4 weeks left to flower which will be 10 weeks total since I notice the pistils hey but who wants to rush we'll get that head rush feeling after cure.lol
16-12-2018
Adjusted the height of the lamp, it was tough squeezing my butt up onto beer cases to lower the lights but managed to get the job completed. I wanted to do this for the last few weeks of flower to see if 1200-1800 Par's would make a difference, will keep posting results. At 15" i push 2000par with a 940w HPS Conversion Bulb.
23-12-2018
I noticed a nutrient block so the plants are now on straight water for the next few feedings until harvest time, which is approaching quickly.White Widow Christmas!
The buds are groomed and hanging up during it's drying stage, Keeping the room at a constant 44% Relative Humidity and 20C or 68F I thought about going a little higher in Humidity but don't want to get mold.
The grow room is very dark and air is circulating but not directly on the Buds themselves. I check Humidity everyday and adjust as needed to maintain a constant 44%. I have a heater if need be to heat the room but the temperature is holding it's own. I have gained a lot of experience growing both the GG and The White Widows in soil and look forward to my next adventure.; White Widow Clones.
28-12-2018
Well the harvest has begun. The girls looked ready so chop chop. Being flushing for about a week and a half. I have a very good pair of scissors but there is so much resin buildup I have had to scrape it off and smoke it lol. Well i have managed to get one plant groomed for today. took about 4hrs and another 4hrs on Saturday.
Overall this was a nice easy grow, just a few minor tweeks due to the purified water I was using(low Cal/Mag) and these damn little Black flies ( eliminated with pest strips and a little peroxide in water) but I got through it and gained some experience for the next batch of White Widow Clones that are waiting in the wings to go on 24 hr 1000w light cycle. The clones will be my last soil grow. I am in the process of making some Aeroponic/Hydroponic tubs. Wish me luck!
Nice grow, good haul! l
Love the drying fridge, resourceful, good idea!
My wife does not like the smell, I know the problem. She also does not like my upcoming summer grow competition with our 82 year old neighbors. This should be fun.
