Both seeds were soaked in water with coconut powder and peroxide for 24 hours on 2/1. Not sure if the peroxide neutralized the beneficials from the coconut or not lol. Seeds were then placed in a paper towel on 2/2 and left in a dark closet for 22 hours, upon checking on 2/3 both seeds had sprouted tails so they were placed in jiffy pots that had been soaking in rootwise mycrobe complete for 24 hours. Myco was added to the planting hole and the sprouts were placed on top of it. On 2/4 both seeds were up above soil. Very good so far. I hope they keep this energy throughout their lives.
These will go into a 30 gallon pot that is being occupied by my current grow of 2 Twisted tree Newberry plants. May have been a little early to do this, maybe not, we'll soon see. The jiffy starters have already been placed into the soil on opposite sides of the pot. This method seems to be working well as its what I did for the Newberries too.
My thoughts on my timing with this are that by the time these babies get big enough to start calling for nutrients and more water, the Newberries will be at the end of their lives if not already harvested.
The lamp distance is around 24 inches currently
When the plants start to get taller I will bend them over, leading to a scrog if necessary.
These are going strong, stretched slightly too much for my liking, but there wasn't anything I could do to prevent it in this situation. Not much to report yet. I hope the other two plants don't bully these girls lol
They've done a lot of growing this week with #1 being about half a node ahead of #2, kinda lanky, but not terrible. I'm liking the red stems, since they have this right from the start I don't suspect it's lack of anything and that it's purely genetic, which is wonderful.
The lights were actually a little higher than I reported in the previous week, as right now they are sitting at just under 25 inches away. So last week they probably more around the 26 mark.
Both plants are perky and happy, other than that not too much to report yet. They still don't seem to be effected by the other 2 plants. Very excited about these.
This girls are stretchy, and already putting a lot of energy into their side branching, so I went ahead and bent them over. A stem rub is already giving off a sharp sour smell. Still growing along nicely and I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform
