Bluesbreeder you can see big difference in both plants .
the C Banana is growing tall on the left while the royal gorilla gets more bushy and not so high.
not much to tell you they plants are grrowing very normal and i realy like both strains for smoking.
enjoying my previous harvest a lot :-)

Bluesbreeder well tha C.Banana is growing trough the roof in the last few days she grew more then 50 cm.
they were touching the lights when i openend the tent today so i suppercropped the 4 main stems of the C.Banana to stop them from growing upwards.
for the rest all the plants are doing well and bud sites are forming. at the end of this week i will be doing some budswelling on all the plant.
i'm going to try and document it so you can see what i do.

Bluesbreeder hey all,
let's do an experiment with budswelling and without !
i know it will not be exact science but i will give some insight if it works or not.
i have got 2 C.banana and 2Royal Gorilla on 1 plant of each sort i have done my budswelling
so we can compare both strains and the effect at the end of harvest to see if it makes a difference or not.
in my believe it makes a difference but i can not prove it maybe this will give an idea if it makes a difference or not.
also i have put an video on how i do the budswelling with scissors or with fingers.
i prefer to do it with fingers it's a lot quicker then with scissors.
You need to do this on al the buds not only on top. Some say you need to do this every week but i only do it after 3or 4 weeks into flowering.

Bluesbreeder The plants survived the massacre. some would have thought different :-) but did it before and i know it's no problem.
Well , i had to supper crop the first C.banana plant 2 main stems again because they keep stretching and going to the roof.
it looks strange in the tent i know but this is what i don't like with sativa's they are hard to control.
if you take a look at the gorilla they are much more compact .
i'm curious about the outcome of the grow and that i can compare the 2 plants with budswelling and without.
to see if it makes a difference or that it is a waist of time.

Bluesbreeder hey,
Today i got all the plants out of the tent for a last defoliation and also put some sticks to support the branches for the heavy buds forming.
the plants look good but the C.Banana is a hard one to control bud she's not growing anymore so she's just fitting in the tent with the lights on highest level.
when i got the plants out of the tent some branches collapsed under the weight of the buds already but some are thin but we will see what the end result will be but it looks promising

Bluesbreeder well not much to tell you this week.
the time has come to make those buds fatten up real good.
Still don't see a lot of difference between the plants with and without budswelling technique but let's wait till the very end to see if it works.
only thing i see is that this time the buds seem to have much more trichiomes then my last grow arround the same period.
but that is a good thing :-)

Bluesbreeder Well , i tink i'm going to give them another week of feeding they will need a week or 2 still.
the plants are getting real frosty and looks so delicious but the need to get fatter.
if i have to tell the difference between with or without budswelling i must say without looks more cone shaped buds and with budswelling look more compact and more round.
well leaves are turning a bit more ugly but she's at her ending fase so iit's normal.
looks like i have overfeed her a little some burn tips.
and i also got some bron spots on leaves but i feed her Cal mag every time so.
but hey no worries anymore she's near the end hoping for a good harvest.

Bluesbreeder Well Not Good News,
2 days ago was checking the tent and 1 bud from Royal gorilla 2 had a weird color. so with taking a closer look i could see it was mold.
Last week nothing to see and now the bud was infected with mold.
so i took a closer look at the garden and saw that the plant 1 of C. Banana also had one big bud that had mold so i needed to cut the 2 buds of like you see on the first pic.
damn don(t like this. Well tomorrow i start flushing and next weekend i will cut the plant down.
it's getting to cold here and with photoperiod and leaving the lights of for 12 hours the temp falls till 14 degrees Celcuis so it's to cold for the plant.
tha's why in wintertime i aalways choose autoflowers so i can leave the light on for 20 hours and get heat from the lamp to make it a good temp in the

Bluesbreeder Well, i'm going to wait another week still the Trichomes are clear but it's starting to get milkey so i will let her Ripen a little more.
No Mold to see so it should be good for 1 week.
the buds are getting heavy and another week shoud fatten them even more so some patience is needed :-)
hope next week will be harvest time.
Cheers,
Bluesbreeder well, for me there is a difference between plant 1 with budswelling and plant 2 without .
plant 1 with budwelling = 615 gr wet (buds feel compact and heavier )
plant 2 without
= 535 gr wet
i must say i had mold on plant 2 and had to cut of a big bud 2weeks ago so that can be 20 grams lost in defence of plant without.
plant 1 was also 20 cm bigger so cab also be a difference in result.
so it makes a difference in my opinion to do the budswelling and i will be experimenting with it in the future to see if the difference continious between with or without.
but it's also got to do with genetics on the Royal gorilla the difference is there but not as much like on the C. Banana those buds got a lot bigger!
UPDATE FINAL DRY WEIGHT:
royal Gorilla with budswelling = 130gr
Royal Gorilla without budswelling = 128 gr
So on the C;Banana it makes a big difference and on the royal gorilla no effect about the same weight with or without.
maybe it works better on Sativa's ? let's do some more experiment in the future Cheers.
Bluesbreeder Well i must say on the C.Banana the Budswelling made a lot of difference and it should be a lot more.
On the plant with budswelling were 2 big buds but 2 weeks ago i looked at the plant and saw the big bud had mold.
so i cut a big piece away from this bud to save the rest.
and today the 2th big bud had mold to :-( because it was so big but also it was getting very cold in my tent at night when light are of i had just 14 degrees celsuis so i think that's also the reason for the mold.
final outcome :
plant 1 with budswelling 504 grams wet weight ( and i really think i lost 2 big buds so i think without mold i would go over 600 grams easily)
plant 2 Without 383 grams wet weight
i will continuo to keep the experiment going will grow 2 plants from same genetics and 1 plant i will be doing budswelling on and the 2nd not.
for a while to see if really works. but my opinion says YES.
UPDATE on Dry Weight!!!!!!
today i have put the C.Banana in de jar to cure they are ready.
The Ryal gorilla needs 2 more days the are realy dense nugs
Ok the final result of Budswelling against normal :
Bud swelling plant with 2 big buds lost due to mold
124 gr dry weed
no budswelling
98 gr
So a difference of 26 gr well seems worth the trouble for sure .
@Darkgreenkid,hey well i know what the weed is about because my previous grow was the same strains and they are nice to smoke.
but not really 100% satisfied with the C. Banana as sativa.
the best sativa i have grown still is Liberty haze from barney's farm.
but next spring i will be trying Bruce Banner from zamnesia in search for the perfect sativa.
but yesterday smoked some fingerhash of the 2 strains together and it hit me quiet hard actually but it's potent weed both strains so no wonder :-)
Well i must say i'm surprised by the result!!
2 C.Banana + 2 Royal Gorilla's in a 80/80/180 cm tent with 270W of Quantum boards led lights!!!
a Total harvest of 480 gr well i thought i would never do better then with my Cinderella jack diary but WOW this is even more :-)
so i don't know how growdiary's counts the gr/Watt but 480 gr with 270 Watt light looks to me like 1,7 gr/Watt :-)
