Hello Diary,
I am truly privileged to be one of the first to try growing this revolutionary new strain.
My dear friends at RQS sent me this new hybrid seed at the beginning of the year and I'm really looking forward to seeing the result.
Let's see what they say about this new strain.
Medusa is a true F1 hybrid created from pure, inbred cannabis lines. She boasts uniform growth traits, mouthwatering aromas and flavors, and plenty of potency.
Combining genetics from inbred lines deriving from Sugar Magnolia, a thick and sweet indica, and American Beauty, a fast, fruity hybrid loved for its well-balanced, positive high,
the result is an autoflowering F1 variety that produces fresh flavors, a unique cannabinoid profile, and large yields.
Medusa F1 seeds produce elongated autoflowering plants with long, strong branches and well-spaced internodes.
Plants regularly grow up to 80–85 cm tall and boast a fast flowering time of just 42–45 days (72 days from germination to harvest).
Thanks to her genetics, Medusa F1 produces plenty of thick flowers with big, swollen calyxes that make for very easy trimming.
Medusa F1 is very stable, handling stress and unfavorable growing conditions with ease, although she is somewhat susceptible to Botrytis, so make sure to keep tabs on the humidity in your grow room/garden.

LET THE DIARY START OFFICIALLY:
12/01/2023
Planting. I prepare everything I need for planting in advance.
I fill the AirPot to a little more than half and add 50g of Easy Boost Organic nutrition in pellets and mix with the soil,
then add more Easy Roots Rhizobacter and Easy Roots - Mycorrhiza mix and fill the pot to the top with soil.
After that, I soak the soil well with water, make a hole in the middle and carefully insert the seed into the hole with gloves and cover it.
After doing this with all three pots, I placed them in the grow box and waited for them to sprout.
The lights are 35 cm away from the pots. The humidity is not high, but as soon as the plants sprout, I will put in a humidifier.
14/01/2023
I moistened the soil a little with water. I need to keep the soil moist.
16/01/2023
The first plant has sprouted. We are still waiting for the other two.
17/01/2023
The second plant has sprouted, but I'm still waiting for the third.
18/01/2023
Unfortunately, the third plant did not sprout, so this time there will be only two plants on the "Farm".
21/01/2023
First joint watering. Each plant received about 1 liter of water.
That's all for this stage, see you soon and thanks in advance for your support.
Hello Diary,
The first week of vegetation is over. I am very happy with how the plants are progressing.
I'm sorry that not all three sprouted, for the first time I will have two plants on the "Farm".
I started shoot a video every week so that everyone who is interested in this strain will be able to better follow the development and progress.
The conditions at the "Farm" are good, although I would like the temperature to be a little higher, the humidity in the air is around 65% thanks to the humidifier.
Until now, I always had the lights on 24 hours during the vegetation phase, and then when they start to flower, I would change it to 18/6.
This time I put 20/4 from the first day of vegetation and I plan to do so until the end of flowering.
I took pictures on the first and last day of the first week, just to see the difference in a week.
Here's a quick recap of the week.
25/01/2023. - Day 1.
Officially the first day of vegetation. When the plant sprouts, I wait for it to get at least 4 real leaves until the actual vegetation begins.
After taking the photos, I watered the plants with clean water, I only lowered the pH. to 6.0 considering that tap water is around 7.5 pH.
I gave each plant about 1 liter of water.
Temp./Humi. - 22.1 degrees/65%
Medusa F1 #1 - 4 cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 3.5 cm
31/01/2023. - Day 7.
End of the first week of vegetation.
I also watered the plants after taking the photos.
Considering the increased humidity inside the grow-box, I noticed that they don't ask for too much water.
Temp./Humi. - 22.5 degrees/68%
Medusa F1 #1 - 8.5 cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 7 cm
That's all for this week. See you next week.
Hello Diary,
He finished the second week of vegetation at the Farm without any problems.
The only thing I did was fill the humidifier with water every two days and watch them develop beautifully.
The plants grew a little more than 10 cm in a week, which is great, and they started showing the first signs of flower formation.
It will be much more visible next week.
Watering was done only once, they probably get enough moisture from the air, so it is not necessary to water too often.
This time I added Bigger Flowers from the Bio Flowering Booster palette.
Here's how it looked last week.
06/02/2023. - Day 13.
Watering. I prepared 2.5 liters of water, lowered the pH to 6.0 and added Bigger Flowers. I watered both plants evenly with that amount.
07/02/2023. - Day 14.
End of the second week of vegetation. I photographed the plants and recorded a video.
I also measured the height to see how much they have progressed in the last week.
Medusa F1 #1 - 19 cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 17 cm
That's all for this week, thank you all for your support and see you soon.
Hello Diary,
The third week of vegetation has ended and the plants are entering the flowering phase.
The flowers have started to form, which is nice to see in the photos, all in all I am satisfied with how they are developing.
They grew a little more than 10 cm and got a lot of new leaves, so now they are really bushy.
I'm thinking of doing a little defoliation next week, I'll see how it goes.
The humidifier is still on to keep the humidity around 60% while the temperature is around 22 degrees.
They still don't ask for much water so I only had one watering this week when I gave them about 2 liters of water each.
This time I added Bigger Flowers and Thicker Flowers at the recommended dosage for the third week of vegetation.
Here's what it looked like last week.
12/02/2023. - Day 19.
Watering.
I prepared 4 liters of water, lowered the pH. to 6.0 with Plagron's Lemon Kick and added Bigger Flowers 0.5/1 lit and Thicker Flowers 0.1/1 lit and with that amount I watered both plants evenly.
14/02/2023. - Day 21.
Photographing and height measurement. End of the third week of vegetation.
Medusa F1 #1 - 32cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 28 cm
That's all for this week, see you soon.
Hello Diary,
The first week of flowering is behind me and as you can see in the photos, the Medusas are developing very quickly.
The flowers have formed and now the flowering begins.
Trichomes appeared around the flowers on the leaves, which is a great sign for this stage of the plant.
What you can see is that the plants differ slightly in structure, one is taller with fewer leaves and a more sprawling structure, while the other is more of a bush shape with lots of leaves.
In the description of this strain, they should be equal in structure, which is not the case, at least for me.
I removed the humidifier so that the humidity in the air dropped to about 50% and the temperature rose to about 24 degrees.
Watering has become a little more frequent, which is to be expected given the size of the plants.
Here's what it looked like last week.
18/02/2023 - Day 25.
Watering. I prepared 5 liters of water, lowered the pH. to 6.0 and watered both plants with that amount.
21/02/2023 - Day 28.
Photographing and height measurement.
Medusa F1 #1 - 47 cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 40 cm
That's all for this week, see you soon and thank you all for your support.
Hello Diary,
The second week of flowering is over and as you can see from the photos, Medusa is developing incredibly fast.
The flowers are filling up really nicely, taking on an already beautiful scent that overwhelms me when I open the Farm's door.
All in all, both plants are beautiful, although they differ in structure, the flowers are almost identical on both plants.
It's unbelievable to me that it's only the fifth week since the beginning of the vegetation, they are really developing very quickly.
They stagnated in height growth, only a few centimeters this week, so they reached their maximum height of about 50 cm.
This requires more frequent watering, so I increased the amount when watering and the time interval between each watering decreased.
The conditions are good, the temperature is around 25 degrees while the humidity is around 45%.
Here's what it looked like last week.
22/02/2023. - Day 29.
Watering. I prepared 8 liters of water, lowered the pH. at 6.0 and I watered both plants evenly with that amount.
26/02/2023. - Day 33.
Watering. This time I added Bigger Flowers and Thicker Flowers from the Bio Flowering Booster palette. I also removed a couple of leaves at the very bottom of the plant to make watering easier.
28/02/2023. - Day 35.
Photographing and measuring plants.
Medusa F1 #1 - 50 cm
Medusa F1 #2 - 47 cm
That's all for this week, see you soon.
Hello Diary,
Another week is behind me, Medusa F1 is incredibly fast, as you can see in the photos, already after the third week of flowering it looks quite mature.
The smell is incredible, an extremely strong fruity aroma overwhelms me as soon as I open the grow box.
The first Medusa (on the left in the grow box) is a little smaller and more mature than the second one, so I will probably harvest it first.
But he certainly has another ten days if she continues like this.
The flowers have filled in nicely, they are hard and very very sticky to the touch.
After any work with plants, I need some time to wash my hands and remove the smell.
Watering is more frequent, they become thirstier, but I no longer add any nutrients to them, only clean drained water to which I adjust the pH. on 6.0.
The conditions at the Farm are excellent, the temperature is around 25 degrees, while the humidity is around 40%.
Here's how it looked last week.
02/03/2023. - Day 37.
Watering. I prepared 8 liters of water, let it sit for 24 hours to evaporate as much chlorine as possible, added Plagron's Lemon Kick to bring the p.H down to 6.0.
I watered both plants evenly with that amount.
06/03/2023. - Day 41.
Watering. I repeated the same procedure as four days earlier.
07/03/2023. - Day 42.
Photography for the end of the third week of flowering.
That's all I think for this week, I'm looking forward to next week. See you soon and thank you all for your support.
Hello Diary,
I apologize right away for the large number of photos, but it is important for me to document as best I can.
This week I also photographed on a black background because they are really beautiful plants.
So Medusa F1 is incredibly fast, after only four weeks of flowering, the first Medusa F1 is approaching harvest.
I checked the trichomes under a microscope and most of them are milky, on the lower branches the ratio is 50/50.
So I will wait a few more days, monitor the situation and harvest at the right time.
This time I photographed the second Medusa, a really beautiful plant, but it has not yet matured like the first one.
Considering the number of photos, I will not describe the appearance too much, therefore the smell, incredible.
No other strain has had such an intense and strong smell so far on my small farm, I am very much looking forward to trying this new strain.
Watering is more frequent, every three days I water them with almost 4 liters of water per plant.
The conditions are excellent, 25 degrees and less than 40% humidity in the air.
Here's how it went last week.
09/03/2023 - Day - 44.
Watering. I lowered the p.H. at 6.0 and with 7 liters of water, I watered both plants evenly.
12/03/2023 - Day - 47.
Watering and checking trichomes with a microscope.
I repeated the watering procedure as I did three days earlier.
14/03/2023 - Day - 49.
Photography and video. this time, after the grow box, I also photographed the plants on a black background. It was worth every effort.
This weekend I also visited Spannabis, a great event and I'm really grateful to have met some new people in the industry and also some great growers.
I'll definitely see you next year.
That's all for this week, thanks everyone for your support and comments and see you next week.
Hello Diary.
Medusa F1 is definitely a record holder, in less than 70 days from the time it sprouted, it matured and was harvested.
The second Medusa will wait a few more days, she is not yet completely ready.
But incredibly, 12/01/2023 was planted and 21/03/2023 was harvested. 68 days from the day it sprouted, incredibly fast.
I've always thought that if the plant grows so fast, the result won't be great, but with Medusa, that's not the case. The plant is full of hard fragrant flowers.
As you can see in the photos, the leaves were completely yellowed so I removed them before cutting the branches and putting them in a box to dry.
Since the second plant still needs light, I put the first plant to dry in a box to protect it from light.
This week watering was usual, every three days.
The conditions are great, the humidity is very low, below 40%, which is great because of the drying, and the temperature is around 26 degrees.
Here's what it looked like last week.
15/03/2023 - Day 50.
Watering. I prepared 7 liters of water, lowered the pH. to 6.0 and watered both plants evenly with that amount.
18/03/2023 - Day 53.
Watering. The same procedure as three days earlier.
21/03/2023 - Day 56.
Photographing and harvesting the first Medusa F1.
I'm just really pleased with how things went from start to finish.
Now it remains to harvest the second plant and wait for them to dry to see what kind of fruits I got.
This is all from me regarding the Medusa F1, if anyone has any questions, feel free to write. It was a quick but great trip.
See you soon with the final report.
Hello Diary,
What a trip.
I read a lot about the new F1 hybrid strains when they came out and was really interested to see how quickly they would develop.
And indeed, in the end I can say that I am very satisfied with the Medusa F1.
I planted three seeds but one did not sprout so two remained on the farm.
The first Medusa was ready to harvest 68 days after the seed was placed in the ground, the second Medusa stayed a week longer.
All the time the vegetation and flowering grew happily and contentedly.
I didn't feed them too many additional supplements and they grew as if they were on steroids.
After harvesting the first plant, I put it in a cardboard box to dry to protect it from light since the second plant was still on the farm.
Drying lasted 14 days, after which I trimmed the flowers and put them in jars.
The final result is 116 grams of dried flowers.
Medusa F1 #1 - 47 g.
Medusa F1 #2 - 69 g.
In the end, I can only honestly recommend everyone to try growing this great strain.
Thank you all for your support and see you soon with new F1 strains.
