Wed Feb 15 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Cal-Mag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom Dry
- I think this is the last feeding with CannaMax Silica and Cal-Mag as per the feeding schedule from General Hydroponics
- The plants are looking good. 1 plant still have mostly white hairs and none of them seem to be turning brown.
- There's nothing more I can do about the calcium deficiency since I'll no longer be adding it. But it also didn't seem to be
making a difference any ways. Don't know why that plant and only that plant had that problem.
- I also noticed that the other plants are showing a very faint signal of potassium toxicity. So, I'm thinking of giving them
just ph'd water for the next feeding. The very tips of the leaves of the other plants are turning yellow/brown, but just the
very tip… it's almost hard to notice it.
- I was really hoping for the buds to be bulkier than they are, especially with all of the supplemental nutrients that I've
been using. Maybe there's still time for the buds to continue bulking up.
Sat Feb 18 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- A lot of chatter online seems to be that KoolBloom Dry and Ripen are the same thing, just one being liquid and the other
being in dry form. However, on the General Hydroponics wedsite, the descriptions are not the same and the N-P-K
amounts are different, so I decided to use it as well especially since I am at the time in this harvest to use Ripen as it’s
recommended to be used in the final two weeks of the grow
- I did, however, just use PH'd water for the plant that was showing a calcium deficiency. Also, I think that the plant was
experiencing a toxicity which caused a nutrient lockout, which mimicked the calcium deficiency.
- I put 4 litres of PH'd water through that plant to give it a bit of a flush. I'll go back to using nutrients on it for the next
feeding. As per the feeding schedule, the nutrients have been reduced now, so I don’t think it'll experience any
toxicity issues any more.
Sun Feb 19 - I took a look at the plants and the buds seem to be bulked up even more than yesterday. Yesterday was their second
feeding of KoolBloom Dry and their first feeding of Ripen.
- I used a DSLR camera with a macro lens to take an extreme close up of the trichomes as I cannot seem them well enough
with the jeweler's loupe.
- The extreme close up shows the trichomes still being mostly clear, but a few were cloudy. I'm getting very close to the
flush stage.
- There is one plant that doesn't have the brown hairs yet, so I may need to harvest that one a week later than the others
Tue Feb 21 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- The final plant that seemed to still have white hairs is now starting to turn the hairs brown.
- I will take some more macro lens close ups of the plants in a day or two to see if and when I should move to the flush
phase. I think that day is coming very soon
- I also noticed two of the plants has a few yellow leaves on the lower part of the plant. This would be a sign of
nitrogen deficiency. I'm not sure what I can do about it at this stage as the plants are in the late bloom phase and
nitrogen has to be lowered.
