Wed Nov 30 - soaked seeds in water for 24 hours
- heat mat @ 24°C, tent heater at 24°C, humidifier at 65%
Thu Dec 1 - put seeds onto paper towel, in baggie, on plate, on heat mat
- There were a couple of seeds where the tap root was just about to come out of the seed husk
- I re-moistened the paper towel, surprisingly it wasn't dry. The last time I germinated seeds, the
paper towel would dry out quickly.
- I also noticed that none of the seeds had a tap root out yet, but some seeds were showing signs
of cracking open.
- My previous grow with White Widow Auto, the tap roots came out while under water, and in 1
day of being in the paper towel, they were all showing a tap root. I thought that was a traight of
Autoflowers, but so far, these seeds are not quite as fast as the WW was.
Fri Dec 2 - I noticed that literally nothing has changed the seeds with the tap root showing through the seed
husk havent changed at all.
Sat Dec 3 - I know it could be early, but I'm starting to get worried. The seeds haven't changed yet again
- Because one seedling was ready to be put into the propogator, I had to leave the lights on but
seeds that are trying to pop out their tap roots need darkness. I only have 1 heating mat.
- I'm a little surprised about what's happening. This is my 4th grow and I've never seen the seeds be
so off from each other, and not germinate. I have had 100% success in germination, and I always
expected that I should be happy with 80%-90% success rate, but right now I'm at 1 out of 20! That's 5%
Sun Dec 4 - I moved the seeds that haven't popped yet out of the tent and into the darkness.
- Later one, I notice 2 of those seeds had tap root that were out. About couple of seeds had small
tap roots showing.
- I decided to plant those seeds and any seed where the seed husk had split open, showing the white
tap root.
- So far, I've planted 12 seeds. The other 8 are waiting to see how they turn out.
Mon Dec 5 - I decided to plant the rest of the seeds no matter what they are doing… or not doing…just to see where this goes
- 3 additional seedling popped out of the plugs, making 4.
Tue Dec 6 - There are now 4 seedlings that have risen out of the plugs.
- I'm hoping there will be a few more at the very least.
- I'm very shocked and upset about how things have gone from the get-go with these AK-47 seeds.
- I was look forward to growing this strain, but having only 20% germinate is a very bad start.
Wed Dec 7 - There is now a 6th seedling that's starting to appear.
Thu Dec 8 - There is one more seedling that may have a chance to survive. I'm going to give it a few days.
- I checked out every seed in the plugs are there is no activity. So I assume they will not germinate
at this point.
Fri Dec 9 - There is now a 7th seedling that is trying to pop up. I removed the seed husk. The cotyledons are closed
so I'll if they'll open tomorrow.
Sat Dec 10 - Ok. It's official, I have a 7th seedling…that's 35% germination success. I'm not happy about that.
- I'll probably be moving the seedlings into their grow bags in the next few days.
- I read a study from the University of Albert's Dept of Biology.
bio-protocol3875.pdf
- They were doing a study to find a way to germinate seeds that had both the fastest and highest success rate
- Their study concluded that the seeds, sitting in water with 1% of Hydrogen Peroxide was the fastest and highest
success rate for seed germination.
- I'll be trying that method in the next few days when I germinate 8 Blueberry 420 seeds
- My grow tent will be half AK-47 plants and half Blueberry 420 so I'll be posting 2 grow diaries that are about 2 weeks apart
Tue Dec 13 - I transplanted the seedlings into the grow bags. I sprinkled mycorrhiza powder in the pre-dug hole before putting the plug
with the seedling into it.
- I then watered the plants with ph'd water. About 500 ml per plant.
Thu Dec 15 - My cat ate 3 of my seedlings! I opened the tent to see the plants and while I was preparing the water for them, I heard my cat
puking. When I turned around, I saw that 3 of my seedlings were completely gone.
- For whatever reason, this particular harvest has been fraught with nothing but disaster!
- I now only have 4 plants. I'll have to decide if I'll germinate more Blueberry 420 seeds or not
- I watered the plants with 1 litre of water each. I added Rapid Start.
- I noticed that immediately after watering the plants, that just below the wet surface dirt, it's bone dry. I've read that it's due
to the peat moss in the soil
Sun Dec 18 - The plants are looking good. They are slowing growing… there is one seedling that looks undersized compared to the others.
- it's the last seed that popped. It probably could have used another day or 2 in the propagator.
- I do think it'll still make it.
Mon Dec 19 - watered plants with PH'd water and RapidStart
Wed Dec 21 - checked on plants. They are looking good and seem to be growing nicely.
- the one undersized seedling seems to be growing but slowly. I'm sure it’ll make it but I don't expect much of it.
Fri Dec 23 - watered plants with PH'd water and RapidStart.
- The plants are clearly growing.
- It seems like they were dormant from the transplanting for only a couple of days.
Sun Dec 25 - the plants are growing fast. The one undersized plant is significantly smaller than the others, but is also grow.
- It'll be stunted for sure.
Tue Dec 27 - watered plants with PH'd water with RapidStart and CannaMax Silica
- Plants are looking good. They are growing nicely, even the little one is doing a good job of trying to catch up
Sun Jan 1 - I was supposed to water the plants last night was it was New Years Eve…no that didn't happen.
- I watered the plants with PH'd water with RapidStart and CannaMax Silica
- The plants growing amazingly.
Tue Jan 3 - The plants are doing great. They are growing every day
Tallest plant was 8 inches and the shortest one is 5 inches. 3 out of the 4 are 8 inches, just one is 5 inches.
Wed Jan 4 - The plants look amazing… they are really growing now.
- The plants are now 11 inches hight and the shorter one is now 8 inches. They are growing fast!
Thu Jan 5 - watered the plants with PH'd water with RapidStart and CannaMax Silica
Sat Jan 7 - Plants are growing fast. They are 14 inches now and the shortest one is 11 inches.
- I'm thankful that the shortest one is only a couple of inches shorter and not significantly shorter. That can pose a
problem when adjusting the light higher for the taller ones
Mon Jan 9 - I watered the plants with PH'd water with RapidStart, CannaMax Silica and Diamond Nectar
- I decided to pick up Diamond Nectar after some reading. Apparently it adds weight to the buds by helping the plant
absorb more nutrients. As per the feeding chart for Diamond Nectar, it's something that could have been giving to
the plants almost at the begginging, but I think it's realy enough.
- 3 of the plants are 17 inches tall and one plant is 14 inches
- Next feeding, I'll be adding in the rest of the nutrients. I'll have to keep an eye out for any nutrient burn as this is
the first time that I'll be adding more than just the 3 base nutrients. I'll be giving them 8 nutrients instead of 3!
Tue Jan 10 - I noticed that the humidity was about 10° too high. It was the cover on the carbon filter. It was gummed up
Fri Jan 13 - watered the plants with PH'd water plus, RapidStart, CannaMax Silica, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow & Bloom & Koolbloom
- The plants are now taking the full gambit of nutrients. I'll be keeping an eye for nutrient toxicity of the next couple of days
to ensure that it wasn't an overdose.
- I have decided to follow the aggressive feeding chart by General Hydroponics based on my experience in the past.
- in the past, I've found that my plants, both photoperiod and autoflower, have taken the aggressive feeding charts amout
and I've even doubled the amounts at times and never saw nutrient toxicity, just nutrient deficiencies. I'll scale it back if
I need to
-The plants all look amazing. You can already see that it is now in the early flowering stage. You can see the very beginning
of buds. I know that I noticed the beginning of buds earlier in the week. This may be because the plants spent an extra week
in the seedling stage due to the fiasco that I went through.
Tue Jan 17 - I defoliated the plants, but just a bit as the last harvest where I over-defoliated, I caused a plant to herm and some of my
bud got some seeds.
- I watered the plants with PH'd water with RapidStart, CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom and
Koolbloom
- So far, there are no signs of deficiencies or toxicities.
- One thing I noticed as soon as I opened the tent before I defoliated the plants was that the leaves were drooping a lot
- I feel that it may have been due to lack of water. I will check on the plants 1 day prior to the scheduled feeding to see if
I need to do it a day earlier.
- I totally forgot to take PPM measurements so I'll do that next feeding. I'm going to take PPM measurements of every nutrient
and chart them so I know what each nutrient contributes.
- Once I have that PPM data, I may increase the nutrients as every grow, I've had to do that.
Wed Jan 18 - the plants look great. The light is able to penetrate to all of the branches really well. The leaves are all straight and lively
Sat Jan 21 - I watered the plants with PH'd water with RapidStart, CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom and
KoolBloom
- I measured the PPM of each nutrient as they were added. The total PPM after all of the nutrients was 925. Which I think is
very low…pretty much the lowest PPM before seeing deficiencies.
- I recreated the feeding chart based on the instructions on each bottle and it turns out that it is pretty much a doubling of
what I was already adding. Before, I was hestiant to follow the bottle instructions because they are written without
conisideration of other nutrients, which is why I followed the GH feeding chart.
- Coincidentally, when recreating the feeding chart based on the bottles themselves, it was the same if I had just doubled
the amounts. The only nutrient that I will not be doubling is the Silica as per the instructions from the bottle
- The plants have seemed to stop growing now. They are about 28 inches tall
Tue Jan 24 - normally I give the plants 4 days between feedings, but the last 2 times, I noticed that the plants were drooping and the soil
was bone dry at the end of the 3rd day. So for now I'm going to check on the plants on the 3rd day and potentially feed them
earlier based on the soil and how the plants look.
- so, I watered the plants with PH'd water this time plus, I added CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro,
Grow, Bloom and KoolBloom
- Also, I created my own feeding chart and it's pretty much double the aggressive feeding chart from General Hydroponics.
- The PPM of the nutrients was at 1,350 PPM instead of 925 PPM.
- My new feeding chart has a slightly lower Silica amount so I no longer need to use PH Down as the nutrients are able to
lower the PH automatically.
- The plants are looking good. I defoliated just a couple of leaves on each of the plants…but nothing crazy.
- There was one plant that when I was cutting a couple of the leaves off, I thought I saw a seed sack, but I may have also been
a pistal…I thought I say a white hair coming out of it, which would make it a pistal, but if it didn’t have a hair, it could be a seed
sack.
- The last harvest I did for the White Widow Extrm Autos, I believe my overtly heavy defoliation caused a plant to herm and
pollinate the other plants, so I've been trying really hard to do very light defoliations so as to not cause the same problem.
Luckily, these AK-47's are not an overly bushy plant like the White Widows are.
My other harvest that I'm doing for the Blueberry 420, they are bushier than the Ak-47's, so I'll have to tread lightly with them
- I noticed that the plants still grew a bit more…I thought they were done at 28 inches, but they are now at 31 inches.
Wed Jan 25 - The plants are looking good. No signs of nutrient toxicity. The plants are handling the higher levels of nutrients well
Sat Jan 28 - I watered the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- I probably should have watered the plants yesterday as they were drooping again… I've adjusted my reminders for every
3rd day instead of 4th day
- One plant is a few inches higher than the others, so I adjusted the pulleys so that the light is slightly askew so that it's not
so close to the tallest plant
- I am so paranoid about the plants developing pollen sacks. I'm going to take a very close look at the plants to keep an eye
on anything like that forming.
- I feel that the plants are kind of slowing down production…I'm not sure if its from being the 4th day and they were too dry
or if it's because the pollen sacks have released pollen and now the plants are focusing on seed production and not budding,
however, the buds are not as far along so I don't see where the sack would be forming.
Sun Jan 29 - I took a really good look at the plants, the bud sites and pretty much every nook and cranny. I only saw pistols and no pollen
sacks. The difference is pollen sacks will be just below the pistols. They will look like pistols but not have any hairs coming
out of them. Everything I saw was higher up to the bud sites and each single one of them had a hair or multiple hairs.
Mon Jan 30 - The plants are looking good. Starting to see the buds getting bigger and more numerous
- I've also noticed that I probably could have fed the plants and it only been 2 days since the last feeding. I guess some of the
additional nutrients are causing the plants to absorb the nutrients faster and better. RapidStart would have created bigger
roots, Diamond Nectar makes the plant take more nutrients up, and KoolBloom is a supposed to bulk up the buds. So, these
things could be causing the plants to uptake more nurtients and dry out the soil faster.
Tue Jan 31 - I watered the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- based on what I noticed yesterday with the soil being totally dry, I will adjust the feeding schedule to avery 2 days and see
what happens. I'll be sure to watch for nutrient toxicity
- So far, I'm still not seeing any nutrient toxicity with the current feedings, they are handling the additional nutrients well
- Again, I now do not need to PH the water down as the Silica amount is now lower, and I'm adding the 3 base nutrients
which adjust the PH down to 6.5 automatically
- I should mention that I extended the feeding chart by adding in an extra 'Early Bloom' week as I felt that the buds were still
in the early blom phase and not really in mid bloom yet.
Thu Feb 2 - This is 2 days from the last feeding. I'm going to see how the plants handle the nutrients. If it's too much, then I'll either do
a water feeding, then nutrient feeding or a heavy nutrient feeding and a light nutrient feeding. It all depends on the
level of nutrient toxicity, if any, that I see.
- I fed the plants CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- I noticed that the plants soil was a dry as can be. I assume it really is the plants that are absorbing the nutrients due to the
nutrient cocktail they are receiving as some of them are likely causing them to absorb the nutrients. I don't think it's the
humidity level as I've got it set to 55°
Sat Feb 4 - The soil is as dry as a bone again! I fed the plants their
- I fed the plants CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- The plants are not showing any sign of nutrient toxicity nor nutrient deficiency.
- The buds are building up nicely. I've very excited to see if the buds end up getting bigger than previous grows since I'm
using supplemental nutrients.
- In my previous grows, I got 2 ounces per plant for the photoperiods and 1 ounce per plant for the autoflowers.
Mon Feb 6 - 2 of the plants had dry soil but the other 2 were not quite ready for another feeding. I thought it would be better to feed
the plants tomorrow. I think it's better to have 2 plants go hungry for one day than to over water the other two
- Otherwise, the plants are looking amazing.
- One of the plants, the hairs are starting to turn brown, the other plants are a little behind but they are getting there
Tue Feb 7 - I watered the plants with CannaMax Silica, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- The Diamond Nectar is now off the feeding schedule as per the General Hydroponics feeding schedule. I know that
I ignored the General Hydroponics Aggressive feeding schedule as it was too low and I fed based on the bottle instrutions
but the bottle instructions don't say when to stop feeding them. So I have no choice but to defer that decision on the GH feeding chart
- The plants are looking amazing
Thu Feb 9 - watered the plants with CannaMax Silica, CalMag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom
- This will be the last feeding with Liquid KoolBloom. I'll be switching over to Dry KoolBloom on the next feeding.
- The plants are looking great.
- I also raised the lights a bit higher and cranked the power to full. I'll see what happens in 24 hours to ensure no heat stress
- I noticed on just one of the plants that the leaves are indicating a calcium deficiency. So I added more CalMag in the
water for a of the plants, plus added a bit more into the water just for that one plant. I'll keep my eyes on that plant
to see if the extra CalMag helped.
Fri Feb 10 - the plant with the signs of calcium deficiency is still showing those signs. I cannot recall if the signs go away or not even
if the deficiency is fixed. I can't see the leaves going green again… the calcium deficiency signs look pretty destructive
and permanent.
- I've taken a mental note about how many leaves are showing the signs to ensure that no more are showing those signs
- the buds on another plant has started to have their hairs turn brown. So, 2 plants seem slightly further along than the
other two, but probably only by a few days.
- The increased intensity of the lights hasn't cause any heat burn, so hopefully it'll have a positive effect on the bud
development
Sat Feb 11 - It was scheduled for the plants to be watered today, but the soil doesn't seem dry enough for that. It was be the Diamond
Nectar that is no longer being added to the nutrients.
Sun Feb 12 - The soil seemed dry so I watered them with CannaMax Silica, Cal-Mag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom Dry
- I added extra Cal-Mag just into the litre of nutrients that were going onto the plant that is showing the calcium deficiency
- No other plant is showing a calcium deficiency
- The info that I find everywhere regarding the amount of KoolBloom Dry to add is 1/4 tsp per 4 litres which seems small
but the N-P-L content seems crazy so I'm too nervous to add more.
- I'm thinking of buying Florakleen for before the end of this grow to help in getting a smooth smoke. I usually do an insane
flush, but anything to get an even better product.
- On the next feeding I'm going to double the Koolbloom Dry as per some reading I've done
Tue Feb 14 - Plants are looking good. Soil seemed dry but I decided to wait one more day.
Wed Feb 15 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Cal-Mag, Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, and KoolBloom Dry
- I think this is the last feeding with CannaMax Silica and Cal-Mag as per the feeding schedule from General Hydroponics
- The plants are looking good. 1 plant still have mostly white hairs and none of them seem to be turning brown.
- There's nothing more I can do about the calcium deficiency since I'll no longer be adding it. But it also didn't seem to be
making a difference any ways. Don't know why that plant and only that plant had that problem.
- I also noticed that the other plants are showing a very faint signal of potassium toxicity. So, I'm thinking of giving them
just ph'd water for the next feeding. The very tips of the leaves of the other plants are turning yellow/brown, but just the
very tip… it's almost hard to notice it.
- I was really hoping for the buds to be bulkier than they are, especially with all of the supplemental nutrients that I've
been using. Maybe there's still time for the buds to continue bulking up.
Sat Feb 18 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- A lot of chatter online seems to be that KoolBloom Dry and Ripen are the same thing, just one being liquid and the other
being in dry form. However, on the General Hydroponics wedsite, the descriptions are not the same and the N-P-K
amounts are different, so I decided to use it as well especially since I am at the time in this harvest to use Ripen as it’s
recommended to be used in the final two weeks of the grow
- I did, however, just use PH'd water for the plant that was showing a calcium deficiency. Also, I think that the plant was
experiencing a toxicity which caused a nutrient lockout, which mimicked the calcium deficiency.
- I put 4 litres of PH'd water through that plant to give it a bit of a flush. I'll go back to using nutrients on it for the next
feeding. As per the feeding schedule, the nutrients have been reduced now, so I don’t think it'll experience any
toxicity issues any more.
Sun Feb 19 - I took a look at the plants and the buds seem to be bulked up even more than yesterday. Yesterday was their second
feeding of KoolBloom Dry and their first feeding of Ripen.
- I used a DSLR camera with a macro lens to take an extreme close up of the trichomes as I cannot seem them well enough
with the jeweler's loupe.
- The extreme close up shows the trichomes still being mostly clear, but a few were cloudy. I'm getting very close to the
flush stage.
- There is one plant that doesn't have the brown hairs yet, so I may need to harvest that one a week later than the others
Tue Feb 21 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- The final plant that seemed to still have white hairs is now starting to turn the hairs brown.
- I will take some more macro lens close ups of the plants in a day or two to see if and when I should move to the flush
phase. I think that day is coming very soon
- I also noticed two of the plants has a few yellow leaves on the lower part of the plant. This would be a sign of
nitrogen deficiency. I'm not sure what I can do about it at this stage as the plants are in the late bloom phase and
nitrogen has to be lowered.
Fri Feb 24 - I used a macro lens on my DSLR camera to see the trichomes close up to see what they looked like. They looked mostly
cloudy and maybe two out of countless others were slightly amber.
- So, I decided to flush the plants, to then start the 1 week of just water and then harvest.
- While I was flushing the plants, I noticed that 2 of the plants' buds seems less hard and dense as the other two plants.
- So, I'm going to continue giving nutrients to those 2 plants only and continue flushing the other two.
- I will harvest the other two plants next week, but I'll keep the other two plants going with nutrients until they are as
thick.
Mon Feb 27 - I watered 2 of the plants with PH'd water and FloraKleen
- the other 2 plants I watered with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- I'll be harvesting the first 2 plants on Thursday. The other 2 I feel will be ready in a week or two max
- The plants look great. I definitely think the 2 plants that I'm not harvest could benefit from an extra 2 weeks receiving
nutrients.
- But the 2 plants that I'm harvest on Thursday, they are so ready! The buds and thick and dense. All of the plants needed
a bamboo stick to help keep them upright.
- I'll be using the bud trimmer bowl and doing them fresh, not dried. I will have the trimmed buds to dry in a separate tent
so that I can start another harvest right away.
Wed Mar 1 - I flushed the 2 plants one more time with PH'd water as I'll be harvesting them tomorrow. I wanted to flush out the
FloraKleen just to help ensure a smooth smoke
Fri Mar 3 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- I checked the PH level to see what effect the KoolBloom Dry may have on the water
- I plan on this this for one more week, then harvesting these last 2 plants.
Sat Mar 4 - The buds look further ahead already. The pistil hairs are getting more shriveled and more brown
Mon Mar 6 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- The are looking further along. I definitely think that they'll be ready to flush next week and then harvest
Wed Mar 8 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- I believe and I hope that this will be the last week of nutrients and next week will be the flush
Fri Mar 10 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Grow, Bloom, KoolBloom Dry and Ripen
- I think the next feeding with nutrients will be the last. After that, it'll be the flush followed by a week of PH'd water
with FloraKleen
- I used my macro lens to see the trichomes and saw that there are a bit more that are clear and only a few that are cloudy
So, I figured one more feeding with nutes and then the flush.
- I have noticed that when growing Autoflowers, the plants don't grow and ripen at the same pace as each other.
Photoperiods seem to have more unity amongst the plants, but the autoflowers seem to be pretty divided
on their growing and ripening stages. This is despite the fact they get the same water, same soil, same nutrients, same
lighting, heat, humidity… very strange. Autoflowes are relatively new so maybe over time, we'll see some more
unity amongst them.
Sat Mar 11 - Branches on both of the plants were hanging very low due to the weight of buds, I had to string them up to keep them from
breaking off
- One branch had actually broken, but not separated from the plant, just a little bit of it was still attached. I strung it
together, so we'll see how good that goes
Mon Mar 13 - I flushed the plants with a ton of water. I put the plants into the laundry tub and put a plant holder underneath the plant
to allow the water to easily pour out of it.
- Originally, I was going to give the plants their last nutrient feeding, then do a flush, but the plants buds are weighting down
the plant so much.. It can handle the weight anymore.
Thu Mar 16 - I watered the plants with FloraKleen.
Fri Mar 17 - I flushed the plants with more water to clear out the FloraKleen. Tomorrow I'll be harvesting the last 2 plants
Thu Mar 2 - I harvested the first 2 plants as they were ready.
- This time I decided to trim them wet instead of hang them to dry.
- Most videos of people using the bowl trimmer, they were doing it with fresh buds, not dried buds.
- Also, the last harvest, I rolled some dried buds on the bowl trimmer and I lost twice the amount of weight due to the
buds being dry and crumbly
- I worked out perfectly! I did start off with the blades on the furthest setting away from the grill, and worked my way
closer to the grill by removing spacers until I was at the closest setting. Then I found that the buds were trimmer
perfectly. It literally took less than a minute each time I rolled the buds on it. It saved me hours and hours of time
- I was always on the fence about buy it as they are a little pricey, but after the last harvest with 19 plants, it took me
two night at 8 hours per night…so after that, I decided it would be worth the price if it worked and it totally does work!
- After the buds were trimmed, I put them in the hanging baskets and put them into the curing tent as it is set to the
perfect settings for drying weed which is the same settings as curing. 62° humidity and 21°C
- I did separate the buds by plant as I want to do a study on the weight loss of the dried buds and I want to ensure that
I know which plant is which.
- I know that some day I won't be able to separate the buds when drying because I may have too much, but if I can get
some statistics, I can apply those numbers to future grows to ensure that I'm getting the most out of my harvests
Sat Mar 18 - I harvest the last 2 plants. They were a little bit behind the other 2 plants. But one thing that was surprising was the
weight difference. Both of these 2 plants were between 50% to 60% heavier than the 1st two.
- Part of me now wonders if I did those two too soon?!? Or it could be that just the extra two weeks of KoolBloom Dry and
Ripen could have helped the plants really bulk up
- The harvesting went well. I think I need to clean the bud bowl trimmer. I never did it after the harvest a couple of weeks
ago. I felt that the blades were not cutting quite that good. But not because they were dull, but because they were too
sticky and covered in resin to cut well.
- I'm going to soak the pieces of the trimmer in super hot water with dish soap and see how that goes. I want to make the
experience of cleaning the bud bowl trimmer as part of my notes.
Mon Mar 20 - I soaked the bud trimmer in the laundry tub with dish soap and hot water for a few hours
- I worked pretty good. I was able to wipe the blades clean. The grill was a bit harder to wipe clean but it did come off
but I definitely ruined the sponge I used as the resin doesn't just desolve in the hot water and soap…it just softens up
so that it can be wiped off.
- sadly, the the screws and weld-spots on the grill were literally forming rust white under water or at least it looks like
rust, it could be a bit of resin, but it wouldn't surprise me.
- When I put it all back together afterwards so I could harvest another crop , the bud trimmer did an excellent job. I think
I will probably just do the blades each time and I'll do the grill every few times…Because the blades getting covered in
resin made them not cut as well. I did notice that when I was coming to the end of trimming the harverst, the blades
weren't cutting as well.
