F13.
They look happy today so I figure get pictures 😂.
Purple Hindu Kush x Durbans are on the left in Coco,
Arise x Golden Goat are on the right in soil.
I don't think I mentioned, but I'm running 11.5 hours on/12.5 hours off. Why? well because I love to mess with things. I've heard from breeders and other respected growers say they get more expressions out of the plants with less light.
Also, it will start to get hot soon, so cutting 30 minutes off the late afternoon helps. I really should have went 11/13, oh well maybe next time.
I switched to Remo nutrients this week for the Coco plants. They seemed to have responded well.
I did a large defoliation yesterday and it didn't seem to bother any of the plants.
I was a noob and misgendered a plant. The one that was in the middle had balls, but it works out because my tent was getting packed. Much cleaner looking without the jungle. Now I am wondering if that big ass one was a male. It rooted like a beast and is already in a solo cup.. it will show it's sex on the clone soon enough.
EC 1.3 - 50 PPMs water, 120-130 PPMs Magnifical. Still watering once every 2 days. I might have to feed once a day for a couple weeks mid flower, we will see how fast the pots dry out.
PH 5.9-6.1 - I didn't add any PH down so I left it where the nutrients took it.
The Arise x Golden Goats on the right will get my usual feed schedule for organic soil. Water only, maybe a couple watering's with cal-mag and liquid karma. I will top feed with 2-3 tablespoons of Fish Bone Meal, earth worm castings, plus I will add at least 1 gallon of soil to each pot. Let those feeder roots get to that food.
Have a good week! 🚀🚀
You're new light schedule intrigues me. I'll be following closely and will perhaps follow suit 🧐
How are you finding growing in Coco as opposed to soil? Is it as trouble/maintenance free? They all look splendid 😍
@StunFlower, right on good choice. I only did coco because I didn't think they would get enough veg time and be small, now I have tall giants. I'm really enjoying the ease of soil.. easier to train, no ph'ing stuff, no daily reservoir checks. It's a nice change up from DWC.
@Oozle, No worries about the missed question - I get it 💨😃
Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll be making a jump to coco, but I think I'll be experimenting with more indoor soil grows in the future. It provides a nice balance to the rigors of DWC. ☯️
@StunFlower, sorry, must have missed the question. smoking too much haha.
I like coco the least out of DWC, soil and coco. I mean it is ok, but it is a lot of nutrients and a lot of work watering everyday. I suppose if I did some automation it would be easier. This run I did go bigger on the pots and am watering every other day. Sometimes I will give a little plain water the off day, but yea it's risky. Miss 1-2 waterings and they get pissed fast.
@Oozle, That's an incredible bargain. The cheapest I've seen 4L bottles in Canada are around $75/ea. Fantastic deals on the Grow-green-MI site, as you say 🤯. I'm very jealous you have access to them 😉
@StunFlower, yea it was like 102 for the 4 bottles and I was about to spend 50 on another bottle of cal-mag, so a no brainer. I think I like Remo's stuff more than botanicare too. I'm always looking for deals.. most of the nutes are the same stuff, it's just learning and dialing them into my environment. Remo's stuff seemed to run a little cleaner in my DWC setup. Grow-green-MI was the site.. they have a lot of cheap deals.
It's like a church in there... a whole lot of praying going on 😉 The plants look wonderful.
I'll be watching your earthbox adventures with interest. You sent me down the SIP rabbit hole so I'm keen to see how it works out for you. 👀
I hear ya, re: your frustrations with this site. My pages still get regularly tagged by spammers and I was recently given an arbitrary ban (8 hours) for what I can only assume was posting a direct link in reply to another user's question (the link was to some light info for grow cycles) 🤯 When I reached out to GD for an explanation I got no response.
I, too, will be making my exit once I finish up my current diaries. We both know there are better alternatives 😃
The plants look great despite all of those power outages.
I totally get your frustration with this site. It seems every new post generates a new, can't-miss, lucrative work from home opportunity 🤬 Almost as frustrating are the generic cut and paste stock comments from users trolling for likes. I certainly appreciate the effort you've put into your diaries over the years, along with your insightful and entertaining comments. Are there any alternative venues you're exploring?
