PHK x Durban - AK Bean brains

Purple Hindu Kush x Durban. AK Bean Brains These are freebies I got when I bought the TK NL5 Haze seeds. They are regular, so I was trying to sex them in solo cups, but they are getting tall and have been drying out a little too fast, so last night I transplanted them. They don't look the happiest after transplant, but they'll bounce back fine. I also topped them and did some defoliation too, so yea they are a little upset. I tried to keep it around 2.5 gallons of coco, but I am pretty sure I had to do at least 3 gallons per pot and I ran out of smaller bags, so some are in bigger bags not filled all the way. PH 5.8-6 EC 1.2 - Watering once a day. Water 50 PPMs, Cal-mag 120-150 (EC .25-.3), Grow 400-450 (EC .8-.9), plus some silica every 2-3 days (EC .05) The plants on the left are in soil, Arise x Golden Goat fems by Irie genetics. The soil is a mix of Michigan Made (M3) and Stonington blend plus some extras. I will throw some pics up in this diary, but I am not making a journal for those. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

Not much going on. A lot of growth this week and they look much happier. I need to flip to flower in the next couple days. I will do some defoliation and switch over to bloom nutrients. I think I am using a little too much cal-mag or not enough base feed. They are a little dark and some blueing which I think is a P issue. I will bring the cal-mag down slightly + the bloom feed hopefully will fix the problem. Watering every couple days until runoff for the coco. I'll be switching to Remo nutrients sometime soon. I got it on sale, 45% off, so 100 bucks for 4L bottles of the Micro, Bloom, Grow, and Cal-mag. The back left and back middle plants are Arise x Golden Goat fems, not the PHK x Durbans. F7. I was 4/4 for females out of these regs. Not pictured is the tallest Purple Hindu Kush (PHK) x Durban. She was beautiful, huge fan leaves, vigorous as heck, but she was about 1ft taller than the rest. I thought it was surely going to be a male. It was so tall, I culled it. I I didn't want the stress of trying to manage an overpacked canopy. I am trying to keep 6 tops per plant... we'll see how that goes. I took clones and the culled plant already rooted. 5-6 days roots out of the starter plug. The fastest to root. I love the vigor. I will run it eventually. A lot of nice side branching on all the plants. They all seem like they would do very well in a scrog, we'll see how much they stretch, but a lot of side branching. Very happy with this strain so far from a structure and vigor standpoint. The 2 plants on the right are Arise x Golden Goat fems. They are in organic soil. The back right plant is gigantic, it was battling the tallest durban for tent superiority I think 😂 EC 1.25-1.3 - 50 PPMs water, 120-140 PPMs Cal-mag, 430-470 PPMs Bloom. Looks like lowering the cal-mag slightly and changing to bloom nutrients helped out the slight P issue. PH 5.8-6.1. Watering every other day until run off. I know coco im supposed to water like 64 times a day, but that seems excessive. Maybe I will water once a day when they start drinking a lot more soon. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F13. They look happy today so I figure get pictures 😂. Purple Hindu Kush x Durbans are on the left in Coco, Arise x Golden Goat are on the right in soil. I don't think I mentioned, but I'm running 11.5 hours on/12.5 hours off. Why? well because I love to mess with things. I've heard from breeders and other respected growers say they get more expressions out of the plants with less light. Also, it will start to get hot soon, so cutting 30 minutes off the late afternoon helps. I really should have went 11/13, oh well maybe next time. I switched to Remo nutrients this week for the Coco plants. They seemed to have responded well. I did a large defoliation yesterday and it didn't seem to bother any of the plants. I was a noob and misgendered a plant. The one that was in the middle had balls, but it works out because my tent was getting packed. Much cleaner looking without the jungle. Now I am wondering if that big ass one was a male. It rooted like a beast and is already in a solo cup.. it will show it's sex on the clone soon enough. EC 1.3 - 50 PPMs water, 120-130 PPMs Magnifical. Still watering once every 2 days. I might have to feed once a day for a couple weeks mid flower, we will see how fast the pots dry out. PH 5.9-6.1 - I didn't add any PH down so I left it where the nutrients took it. The Arise x Golden Goats on the right will get my usual feed schedule for organic soil. Water only, maybe a couple watering's with cal-mag and liquid karma. I will top feed with 2-3 tablespoons of Fish Bone Meal, earth worm castings, plus I will add at least 1 gallon of soil to each pot. Let those feeder roots get to that food. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F21. Purple Hindu Kush x Durban Interesting week. I lost power for about 36 hours, so I lost 2 days of light. It got to about 52f for a day as well. They stretched like crazy without the light, about 14 inches this week. I bent them down a bit, so if they get much taller I will have to do some more training. I don't see any pollen sacks or nanners and I don't see any orange or discolored pistils, so it seems like they may not go intersex. I will keep an eye out the rest of the grow of course. I don't think the PHK x Durbans like a lot of wind. They looked a little sad this morning, so I moved the fan off the front plant and it started to perk up. I also raised the light from 16" to 24". Feeding EC 1.3-1.4. - Water = 50 PPMs, Magnifical = 120-130 PPMs, Bloom and Micro = 360-400 PPMs, Astroflower = 100-120 PPMs PH 5.8-6.2. The Arise x Golden Goat's in soil are on the right doing well. They didn't seem to mind the lights off too much. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F27. Nothing special done this week. The back plant looks like it is getting a bit dark and shiny.. too much N, so today I lowered the cal-mag in half and increased the base feed and bloom booster slightly. The back plant started frosting up a couple days ago and smells a lot like some Durban I got from a local dispensary. I know it is early, but having frost and that terp profile already... happy I took cuts. EC 1.4 PH 5.9-6.2. I haven't checked the PH since I stopped using silica. pretty sure the remo stuff mixes to about 5.9-6.1 depending on how much astroflower I use. The Arise x Golden Goats on the right are doing well. I will do another top feed today or tomorrow of fish bone meal, earth worm castings, plus some more soil if I can fit it. Then it is water only, maybe some liquid karma. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F36. Lost power again for a couple hours earlier in the week. That might be the 3rd or 4th time in the last 5 weeks. No signs of intersex, so cool beans. I lowered the cal-mag to EC .1 last week because the back plant is looking a bit dark and shiny. I don't see any deficiencies, so hopefully I didn't lower the calcium too much. I still am not overly confident in my feeding in the coco. I am worried cutting out the cal-mag will make the coco hold onto K more. We'll see how they look in a couple weeks, maybe I just increase the base and bloom booster a bit more. EC 1.35-1.4 - Water = 50 ppms (EC .1), magnifical = 50 ppms (EC .1), micro and flower 400-450 (EC .8-.9, Astroflower 120-150 (EC .25 -EC .3). PH 5.8-6.1. This is probably my final diary on this site. F39 in the pics plus I added some showing the stretch. Purple Hindu Kush x Durban - AK Bean Brains Not much going on. The back plant seems to be about a week ahead of the front plant. Both have a lot of trichomes all over the fan leaves. Impressed with how well they are growing. Stacked, frosting up and some great smells. The front plant showed a bud site on a fan leaf, typically that trait is associated with higher THC plants. Attached a picture for reference and link below. Note the chart states: "Reproductive leaf" has a higher amount of THC and CBD present. Arise x Golden Goat (right) - Irie Genetics These look great, a little hungry I think. The leaves are getting a little blue'ing, so P deficiency. I fed them liquid karma, slf-100 and a little bit of bloom nutrients (100 ppms worth). I am hoping the top feeds and karma will push it through until harvest. F48 today for these pics. Purple Hindu Kush x Durban - AK Bean Brains (left side of tent) 3 Gallon coco. Watering once every other day. Remo nutrients EC 1.4. Water = 50 ppms (EC .1), magnifical = 50 ppms, bloom and micro =430-450 ppms, astroflower = 120-150. I lowered the cal-mag today (.05 EC) as they still look like they are getting a touch too much N. I should just cut it out and see how they do. Maybe there is some slight K problems too, too much N locking out K? The back plant seems frostier, stem rub is stinkier, but it didn’t fill in as well. Both plants look like they are getting some purples on some of the top calyx’s. The front plant has a little calcium issue on the tops. Probably the light and heat. I should turn down the light again. I have clones of both in my veg tent hoping 1 is good enough to save. I am rooting for the front plant because I love the structure and vigor. Lot of bud sites on each cola. Right is Arise x Golden Goat (Irie Genetics) 5 gallon soil - Mix of Michigan Made and Stonington blend plus amendments listed a couple weeks back. One watering with liquid karma and SLF-100, the rest of the waterings is my well water (50 ppms). They don’t have as much turgor as they used to, maybe I messed up the watering sometime. I watered in some Liquid Karma a couple days ago and I will feed only water for the rest of the time. Hopefully the soil has enough in it to make it to 70 days. Have a good week! 🚀🚀

F55. Good week. It cooled down a lot here in Mass so I haven’t had to play “musical lights” to try and keep the tent cool. If it gets too hot in the tent, I turn off 1 light for 30 minutes or so. I try to keep my environment 76-80f and 50-55% humidity… higher the temp the more humidity. Purple Hindu Kush x Durban - AK Bean Brains (left side of tent) 3 Gallon coco. Watering once every other day. Fed most of this week: Remo nutrients EC 1.4. Water = 50 ppms (EC .1), magnifical = 25 ppms, bloom and micro = 430-450 ppms, astroflower = 120-150. I removed the magnifical and lowered the micro yesterday. The back PHK x Durban is still getting too much N. I gave a feed of .2 EC of Epsom salts yesterday with my normal feeding. The Remo nutrients don’t have any magnesium in the base feed. It is only in their cal-mag product and the Natures Candy bottle… I didn’t buy the Natures Candy because it is just sugars, iron, and mag-sulfate (epsom salts). I may do another feeding this week with Epsom Salts, I will see how they look. I’m thinking the back plant will be done around F70 and the front will go closer to 80 days. The back PHK x Durban has that Durban smell I remember… licorice and anise. Right is Arise x Golden Goat (Irie Genetics) 5 gallon soil I “cheated” and gave them about 400 PPMs of bottle nutrients a couple days back. I wanted to make sure they had enough gas to finish. Planning on harvesting these in 2 weeks. I haven’t looked at the trichomes yet, but thinking they will be done F67-73. I started an earthbox with a clone of the back right Arise x Golden Goat. F62. PHK x Durban - AK Bean Brains (Left) Arise x Golden Goat - Irie Genetics (Right) Getting there. Not much amber yet if any across the tent. Both of the PHK x Durbans are starting to purple up. The tops on the front plant are a bit close to the light or maybe it’s the heat, but the tops look like fists. I lowered the feed on the Coco plants down from EC 1.3-1.4 to EC .9 slowly through the week. I added the magnifical back in and lowered the micro to keep the N down, so they still have access to some Magnesium. The run off is pretty close to my input, so I plan to go down to about an EC of .8 for the last week and a little lower for the last couple days. I don’t flush, but I reduce the nutrients so I don’t overfeed… they don’t eat a lot in the last week or so. All the plants are starting to drink less. F70. I am going to harvest them on F72. Started to see some nanners on the front PHK x Durban. Very stressful grow. A couple power outages, one for 2 days, heat/light stress, and I might have had a light leak last week (my veggie tent bottom vent wasn’t velcro’d all the way so some light was hitting the 4 x 4 for a couple days last week). I lowered the feed on the PHK x Durban to EC .6-.7. The run off is not much higher. The Arise x Golden Goat is looking great, they are done. I have the back Arise x Golden Goat in the earth box and it is booming. I have to start flowering it soon. About 3.5 weeks from the transplant to now.
