First grow since 2020, with around 250 grams for an outdoor which has kept me going as I'm not a big smoker. No option for outdoor this year so with summer coming to an end indoor it will be in my tin garden shed. Bit of a heat wave this week but likely to cool down by the time I plant. Then just hoping the weather gods are nice for the next 4 months. Not too hot. Not too cold...just right🙄 Soaked seeds last night and now in paper towels. Planning on 5 plants anyhow, will veg for 4 weeks and flower for 9 to 10 or whenever ready. Hoping to harvest early winter before it gets really cold. Coco coir perlite mix this time and using the whole Mills range. Should be fun anyhow. Not expecting the same rewards of my last outdoor, but anything over 100 grams I'll be happy with. Anyhow, as far as germination goes I have 5 seeds to play with. In a glass of water for 8 hours, then paper towel in a zip lock bag in a warm location, including my pocket and next to me sleeping. Within 24 hours 3 of the 5 had germinated. I have doubts that 1 of the 2 remaining will germinate at all as it's a small mongrel seed but who knows. Update...all seeds germinated even the last mongrel seed. I like keeping em warm, in bed with me, in my pocket when cold and not in bed. The last seed that I didn't think had a chance from the start popped 2 days after the rest, after I put the zip lock bag with the paper towel in my pocket for a couple of hours. 100% ain't bad that's for sure. Every time I grow I do the same thing, no u may not see this method recommended but it works for me. Last few grows I've germinated them in my underwear, while wearing of course. Nice and warm thats for sure, maybe its the fluctuation 🤣 Go on, do a google search on the underwear germination method, doubt any hits will be found 🤣

A forward planning grow question. During Week 7 or 8 of flowering I will be away for 2 days. Looks like my babies may not get a feed for about for about 40 hours. I'm growing in 70% coco coir 30% perlite. Will the plants get through even with only minor impact?

Reality is this- depends how big they get and how big those pots are. Great info already given below but I’ve ended up with plants bigger than shit in coco small containers and they needed full soak feeds every 12 hours.. would do a full dryback in 16-20 hours. That was far end of spectrum. You’re in an outdoor spot like that.. I’d be worried about dryback. It’s far from ideal, but I’ve just filled a saucer before I go and call it good. I’m sure since you have weeks to figure it out you’ll find something better than that

Good growing week, updates in the video. Audio is a bit shit at the start but does get better. Didn't mention in the vid but I did give them a small defoliation a few days ago, just leaves impeding undergrowth and nothing crazy, 2 or 3 of each plant

Vegetation over and out, now it's time to reduce the lights to 12/12. Good week of growing anyhow. A little more LST, a good defol. Even the weather was kind. Modified a watering can to make it easier watering the plants at the back which is a time saver for sure. Hmmm, now how long can things keep going well...hopefully for another 10 weeks at least 😬

1 week into flowering and I need to change lighting schedule, complete reversal from night/day due to cold night tempswhen lights are on. Only way to achieve would be to have 24 hours of dark. There maybe an impact but warmer day temps I'm sure will benefit in the end. Thoughts

Unless it is an autoflower, absolutely do not do 24 hours of light with a photoperiod in flower phase... you will have a very high risk of causing a revege or some sort of repercussion for causing a major issue with the hormones inside the plant... uninterrupted darkness is what causes / controls flower phase. do not fuck with the dark period of a photoperiod in bloom phase. no ifs, ands or buts and not a debate whatsover. based known science and knowledge that exists in the world... One 12-hour light cycle lost is small potatoes, if necessary.

Well it's been an interesting grow week that's for sure. Day 1 of flowering I set my lights to 12 hours and then I go an notice tiny webs on my fan. Spider mites maybe? Well I sprayed just to be sure and will again tomorrow and the week after just in case. I guess this grow is in an outdoor tin shed and spiders of the bigger variety have also been an issue. I did let a insect bomb off b4 I started but the little things always find a way in. I just can't be sure either way what the cause was. With the lighting schedule I decided to set my lights for dark hours from 4:30am to 4:30pm and lights on over the night. Sounded like a good idea to start with but all of a sudden cold nights followed, 9 degrees c then 2 nights of 8 then a super cold one at 7 degrees. Tin shed = zero insulation🙁 Now my heating bars do a wonderful job but with lights on and the bars on full I could only get the tent temp to around 18 degrees. With the moist night air and the heating bars cranked up also brought condensation in the tent. Man growing indoors would be way easier but impossible for me. Well 18c is way too cold for lights on so what can I do? Well drastic times require drastic measures and I had no choice but to flip the lights. To do so I did 12 hours dark, 1.5 hours light then back to 12 hours dark. This effectively brings my lights on from 6am to 6pm and off of a night. Hopefully by maintaining a higher temp when it's lights on and lower temps when lights are off will give me better results in the long run. I will still keep the heating bars going of a night but at reduced capacity, which hopefully reduces condensation. On top of that feeds will occur at the start of the day when the lights first go on, less water in the coco coir has to help with the cold nights. I was also running low on space in my tent. I had to bring a fan down beneath the canopy for airflow and the only way to do was to either sacrifice a plant or seriously cut back a plant. I went for the later and the fan fits like a glove. I also think I need to turn down the heater for night hours because they are on so much now keeping things warm, in particular without the additional heating help from the lights. I think the new growth is impacted. One leaf I noticed today in the centre above the heaters was all shrivelled. Will monitored and adjust as needed. Hoping for my scrog net to arrive in the next day and fingers crossed that helps even more as it will allow me to create some space where needed. So yeah, a rocky road it was this week. I'm hoping all has come out unscathed with minimal impact. Guess I'll see how things progress over the next few days. Either way they are looking healthy still and with any luck things really kick on over the next week

Issue free week, just managing the cold night temps. Pretty much most nights outside the tent have been from 9 to 11 degrees celcius and I'm manually reducing the heaters from 23 to 16 of a night. Due to space concerns I had to perform a significant defoliation. The canopy was just too thick and air circulation was impossible. My previous weeks change of one of the fan setup o below the canopy wasn't successful. They were way too close to one of the plants and just one leaf discoloured, I'm thinking as a result of this. So both fans are once again above the canopy and with the defoliation it seems to be working. They've definitely shot up over the last week anyhow. Hopefully the stretch stops in the next week otherwise height concerns I will have🙄

Smooth sailing this week and definitely into a groove. Plant have really stretched the last week and constantly raising the lights to accommodate. Finally got my dehumidifier working and draining out side of the tent which makes it way easier. Yesterday when doing some basic maintenance a small moth got in the tent and I couldn't locate it, so sprayed with some exo friendly pesticide just to play it safe. Pretty sure it's safe to do as they really are just in pre flower at most. Definitely no more of that no matter what from now. Day time temps have been really good and with lights on easily maintaining 23 to 24 c with no heater, nights are still cold when lights are out and set the heater bars to 16c. Considering outside the tent some nights have been less than 8c then definitely a lot warmer. By this time next week I'd be expecting to see some bud development.

It's one of the most exciting weeks of growing when your first flowers appear, and that they did this week with abundance. The big stretch is finally over! With the growing foor raised so the heater bars could sit under the plants, space was limited that's for sure. 1cm taller and further grow space modifications would've been required, quite likely I would've had to have removed the raised floor, and the roots would no longer get the warmth generating up from the heaters. Oh well it's no longer an issue. Plants are super healthy anyhow, day temps couldn't be better easily maintaining 24c without the heaters but the nights are still cold. Only maintaining around 16 of a night but not overly worried about that. I could turn the heaters up but then the constant radiant heat in a small tent could be an issue. Nights will only get colder over the next month anyhow so this will be my last remaining grow challenge....well hopefully🤔 Good growing week anyhow😁

For things I can control it was as smooth sailing as possible this week. Those that I can't control it's not worth worrying about. Indoor grows really shouldn't factor in the weather as this one does that's for sure! As it's in a tin garden shed the only protection from the elements it gets is from the rain. A little out from 4 weeks from winter and a few nights below 6 degrees celcius and one of 2 degrees. Were the heating bars working overtime or what and with lights off internal tent temps of a night are still around 14c when that cold. I would be worried if this was lights on temps but still managing between 17 and 24 with the lights on, once again dependant on the outdoor temp. I could turn the exhaust fan off to increase temp a little but condensation from the cold air outside the tent then causes other issues. No point worrying anyhow. The ladies are doing exceptionally well anyhow, really starting to show off their pretty jewellery this week, love it when they bring out the bling. I'd say 5 weeks to go from here with a planned harvest date being the 2nd week of winter, where my next challenge comes curing when so cold. Got to love it either way!!!

Was sort of hoping for a little bit more fattening of the buds this week, they did but not as much as expected. I thought the stretch had finished and measures lamp distance and they'd grown another 3cm, so raised flooring had to be removed to free up extra space. Just means the plants no longer get the radiant heat upwards from the roots. It's been really cold this week, day and night and I had to install an exhaust fan variable controller just to maintain the warmth. Still managing between 21 to 24 when lights on and 13 to 18 lights out. The heaters are working OT that's for sure. Happy anyhow with how the week progresses, about a month to go now till harvest.

After a few nice days with mild nights the cold has now officially set in. Last night external temp outside the tent was 1.2 degrees celcius, managed to keep the tent temperature at around 14. Way colder than I'd like that's for sure. I've now added an additional timed controller to my exhaust fan which activates it once every 15 minutes during the night time periods. Just helps maintain the temp a little better. For the next week there's nothing but cold days and cold nights and achieving ideal temps is basically impossible. Not much I can do I guess. Buts are a little more solid this week but still not where I wanted them to be, my indoor gardening shop advised me that this strain is slow, and just to be patient as flowering can go over 80 days. So patient I will be hoping things move well over the next 2 to 3 weeks.

A smooth and easy week. Easy as I couldn't water for 3 days as I was away for the weekend to run a half marathon that was out of town. Got back and there was still moisture in the coco coir, however that was only possible by reducing the heaters to 16c, too cold but not so cold that progress ceased. They certainly liked their first drink and some heat on my return eitherway. Had a few pleasant days anyhow and maintaining a good temp is achievable night and day. 22c of a day and 16 of a night. With so much moisture in the night air the dehumidifier is certainly getting a work out, it's only a cheap one I got on Amazon but has external drainage so I only have to empty once a week, not once a day which would be the case with most small units. Planning on another 2 weeks from now, buds are starting to ripen however the trichs are still crystal clear. Feels like the end is near anyhow.

Just under 100grams dried from the 4 plants. Definitely short of what I wanted and I'd say my 4 year old light could be the reason. Next grow will definitely have an upgrade. Buds smoke well, a little too airy and likely caused by the light also. Dried for 5 days and will now cure with Boveda packs for 1-2 months. Pretty happy with the grow anyhow
