Just followed the instructions from Crop King Seed and it worked as mentioned. In just 5 days they were ready to be carefully placed on clay pellets in my hydroponic system.
My pots are 3-3/4 in. Removed a good layer of pellets so the seedling would be a bit lower and closer to pellets washed from the sprinklers. I use a low pressure sprinkler system. For this first week I only use plain water on a cycle of 5min On/10min Off. Lights are set at 25% and gradually increased to 50% by the end of the week.
Started to give nutrients at 440 ppm and finished the week at 470 ppm.
Now changed the sprinkler cycle to 5min/20min
Lights increased to 80% before mid-week.
Started the week at 570 ppm and increased to finish the week at 780 ppm.
Also started to add
- Optimum Hydroponix Optical-mg at 1ml/Liter (Calcium Magnesium)
- Optimum Hydroponix ZenZyme 1ml/Liter (Enzyme tonic)
From Week 1 mid-week to Week 4 mid-week = Seedling stage
Started the week at 790 ppm and increased to finish the week at 1110 ppm
Smells a bit like popcorn. Hard to describe but always liked that smell.
From Week 4 mid-week to Week …. = Pre-flowering
Started the week at 9 in and finished at 17 in
Starting the week at 28 in (poison berry) and both are still pushing.
The Aloha gave me signs of cal-mg deficiency but all is fine.
The leaves on the Poison Berry are thin sativa like. Give good light penetration. And stems are spliting and multiplying. Just a bit of leaf tucking.
Finished the week at 31 in (poison berry). The buds are pushing and getting thicker.
Starting the week at 31 in for the Poison Berry. And 19 in for Aloha.
Changed for a fresh solution and increased the Gigaboost.
Day 51 - Buds are growing, still pushing.
Day 55 - the smell is still normal. Buds are growing.
Ending the week at 1780 ppm.
The pre-flower started at week 5 but I continued to use grow nutrients. So I left it as VEG week. But it should be FLO. week 1 of flowering.
I’m starting Flowering week 5
Poison Berry - It looks like it’s going to be close to the timeframe of 8-9 weeks of flowering.
Aloha - Could be close too. 9-10 weeks
I started a new solution with the addition of Optimum Hydroponix Titan 0-10-7 to boost the buds.
Will use this formula for the next 2-3 weeks and then will flush.
Will keep the microscope close and monitor the trichomes just to be on the safe side.
Cheers!
Day 63 - Apr 5 : - Power failure in the first hours of the light cycle. All systems off. No sprinklers in the root tanks. Don’t know how long it will last. But it’s a major power failure due to ice storm. Since there is no liquid in my root tanks, I will use a portable garden sprinkler to water the roots from time to time. The rest there is nothing I can do but wait. That’s the way we end week 9.
Day 64 - Apr 6 : - It’s been 24 h and the power failure is still going on. I keep spraying the roots every 4 - 5 hours. The smell is strong since I cannot control humidity and exhaust. The tempº in the root tanks are at 15°C and about 16°C in the tent.
Day 65 - Apr 7 : - It’s been 48 h and the power failure is just over. Both plant look good and normal. Will check if they keep swelling the buds. They changed color a bit too.
Day 71 - Starting the week. Poison Berry was slowed down due to the major power outage we had last week. Aloha was still going on so now I think both will probably be ready on the same timeline. I would say 2 weeks…
Day 78 - Apr 20 - Starting the week. It’s getting close to harvest. I would say by the end of the week. The smell is fruity. Really nice. Buds are thick and hard and still swelling. Leaves are getting yellow and purple. A good signal.
Day 85 - Apr 27 - Flowering 50 days - Starting the week as FLO but will possibly change to Harvest this weekend.
Think both strains are pretty close. Will have to harvest both at the same time since I need the tent for the drying part. So I try to stretch harvest time a bit more for the Aloha but don’t want to stretch it to much.
Day 86 - Apr 28 - Buds are swelling… no… they are exploding! They know the end is near.
Day 88 - Apr 30 - Flowering 53 days - Waiting for a small grow tent to be use as drying space. Will be a control environment. Will then be able to stretch the Aloha a bit more if needed. Will also leave Poison Berry lower buds to enjoy direct lighting till amber trichomes start to show.
Started to harvest the big top ones on the Poison Berry. Leaving the mid section a bit more and Aloha is still not ready but should be soon.
The buds are drying and curing but they are good size buds. Have also some fluff buds that I did not calculate. But will still use for decarb and infusion cooking.
The whole cycle went without any issues. They lookand smell good. Will have to wait for the drying and curing process. But I obviously tried a sample or two… and I was giggly and happy. So for me it’s already a good news.
The buds are tightly knit which makes them pretty dense and heavy. The smell is really sweet like berries. I like it!
The buds are a pink purple color. They are in the drying process for now. Can’t wait for the first taste! 😎
It was a smooth ride apart from my mistake where she needed a bit more Cal-Mag. But that was a minor issue. We had a major power failure for 48 h and she did not care. She had a mission and a real nice one. Other than that… Let her Grow!
Looking good, the stretch from flowering is exciting. With the light penetration you mentioned, should see some decent sized buds on that poison berry. My first run of it was outdoor during winter, just 1 plant. Genetics are nice but mine yielded low for obvious reasons. My recent germ didnt take so I have my last two soaking now. I’m excited to see your harvest, keep it up
