Phykys Here I am with my first diary! I chose the Blue Sunset Sherbert from Barney's, a seedbank I've been happy with for a few years. I germinated the seed directly in soil, in a peat pot, and then moved it to a larger pot. The substrate is made with Lightmix Plagron, with the addition of Megaworm and Supermix (also Plagron) and a bit of coco. The pot used is a 22-liter smartpot. It was planted on 02/24/2023 and started the vegetative phase on 02/28/2023, under the Lumatek ATS 200w Pro lamp, in a box made from a shelf enclosed with drywall and a white/black tarp, where I will try to fill an area of about 60x60cm, and then move the plant to a box of 90x80x135cm at the time of the switch. In this first week, I only gave a bit of Purezym and Power Roots Plagron and watered manually.

Phykys In this third week, the plant reached the 6th internode and on 03/19/2023, after 19 days of vegetative growth, it was topped above the 4th internode, so I could start doing LST and keep the plant as low as possible. I started giving, in addition to Power Roots and Purezym, Silic Rock and Alga Grow (always Plagron). I also sprayed the leaves with Vita Race Plagron and some zeolite. Besides this, I added Cal-Mag Xtra from Advanced Nutrients and decided to try for the first time Voodoo Juice, Tarantula, and Piranha, also from Advanced Nutrients.

Phykys The plant has now reached a size of 60x60cm and, on 07/04/2023, after 38 days of vegetative growth at 18 hours of light, I moved it to the 90x80x135cm box to switch it to flowering at 12 hours of light. I started doing SCROG to better spread the branches and keep it low more easily. I also set up automatic irrigation, while for nutrient watering I continue to do it manually, about every 5 days.

Every warm season, the presence of red spider mites intensifies. Can an air conditioner help lower the temperature in the room that contains the grow boxes?

Sure thing, buddy! An air conditioner can be a big help in lowering the temperature in the room where you have your grow boxes. Those little red spiders, known as "red mites," multiply more in warm and dry climates. If you keep a cool and controlled temperature in your growing space, you can reduce the appearance of those pesky mites. But be careful, don’t think that the air conditioner is the only solution to keep those mites at bay. It’s important to take some additional measures to prevent their appearance and stop their spread. Here are some tips: Make sure you have an adequate humidity level in the room. Those mites breed like crazy in dry environments. If you use a humidifier, it will help you maintain an ideal humidity level. Ventilation, buddy, ventilation. Make sure to circulate the air well in the room to avoid heat and humidity buildup. Open the windows, turn on a fan, whatever it takes to move the air. Don’t forget about cleaning. Regularly clean the grow boxes and the surrounding environment to eliminate any residues or organic materials that could serve as food for the mites. Have you thought about biological control? There are little predatory insects, like Phytoseiulus persimilis mites, that feed on red mites. You might consider using them to keep these invaders at bay. Good luck with your grows, buddy!
