After 24 hours in Spring Water then 24 hours then 24h in a paper towel.
She was ready to open up to you like a random drunk guy you just meet at a frat house.
her tap root was about a 1/2 inch
So that's the same distance I extracted the soil within the Solo cup with my backhoe.
With the finest Dollar Store LED light bulb that I could find. she ready to take the midnight train going anywhere.
She still has her glass slipper on not ready to transplant quite yet.
Looks a lot healthier than I expected
Especially after hearing so many people complain about Miracle-Gro and burple lights.
But She's definitely proven that she is a Survivor.
Hooked up the 3m carbon filter (filtrete)
To create some air flow to help strengthen her roots.
It transplant day
Additional information:
1. Mixed my Miracle-Gro up with boiling water to kill what ever might be lurking within.
2. Added a couple of caps of hydrogen peroxide.
3. Mixed all together and let it dry Added rocks in the bottom of the pot to help with drainage
4. Used a similar Solo Cup and drilled out the same distance for for the transplant
5. Forgot what I was doing after the Sixteenth bush light.
6. woke up and remembered what I was doing
7. Added a little old bush light from the night before hey...... it's almost water anyways
8. Take down the bull_crap make shift tent and re do it so it's not falling down repeatedly
9. Spend 10 hours researching lights
10. Buy a $28 light off of Amazon because I'm a broke ass.
We got her under her new light and I have to say, amazing growth for a $20 Amazon light.
She is bushings out nicely.
Trying not to over water at this point just reading the leafs
Added a small USB fan in the tent with her.
Just a little LST by hand only
Bending over her and letting go.
turning in pot 20% Daily.
Having patience is not going so well though.
I find myself looking into the tent about 10 hours a day lol.
Kinda caught her off guard this morning
Topped her at about the 6 note.
After knowing how strong she's been
I have no worries about recovering from a little hair cut
Fingers crossed
After 4 days of vacation I'm back
She did just fine with the 16.9 oz water bottle I stuck in her while we were gone
She took well from the topping
With new growth.
Overall pretty happy about this.
Well it's been a very exciting
Learning experience so far. My make shift tent was not what I thought it would be. In my opinion it was just a waste of time and resources. Go ahead and invest in a tent.
In the next couple weeks I'm upgrading to a Spider Farm 1000 SD and a 4 in. carbon air filter. I'm just waiting for them to be delivered (so excited)
The humidity is getting higher where we are currently living, so we are getting ready to eliminate the humidifier in the grow room.
She took to her topping very well, and recovered in about 6 days. I have seen new growth from the process.
• This morning I just went in and started to defoliate her quite a bit. With the cheap light she is under rn, it's in my best interest to strip her down so I get as much light penetration throughout amethyst GDP as we can.
•She's roommates with three jalapeño plants, my little bonsai tree, and a couple other things in her tent right now.
•Have found about 3 fungal Nats flying around the out side of the tent. going ahead with purchasing fruit fly traps off of Amazon to be ready for the summer.
I do have neme oil available, but I heard it makes the whole house smells terrible so I haven't used it yet.
I really didn't know how much I would get into this hobby but i think I'm here to stay.
Have a great week my fellow Growers.
March 26 update.
Well, I got everything hooked up this morning. I'm very proud of it. Very broke, and might be eating Ramen for about a month to recop some money. I think it's going to pay off. The Negative air flow is sucking better than a Vegas hooker.
Took the extra time to bend her down a little bit more aggressively this afternoon (LST), to even out the canopy.
Thanks for reading!!!!
March 28
I don't have A temperature humidity controller yet and will be pretty broke for a minute.
My solution: unplugged my carbon air filter/ Fan and humidifier
Timed how long it took to reach 85°+
Then put them both on a timer for now
March 30,
I'm pretty sure nitrogen levels look fine. Potassium and calcium need a boost
I'm going to give her a couple of days to dry out
My wife is working on making a
Grinded eggshell
Coffee grounds
Banana water
With a little Epsom salt
For Sunday
April 3rd
Well it's been a battle to start the week.
She was fed yesterday and looking a little better today.
But she is going to need some recovery time.
Not sure what it is quite yet, but I'm going to figure it out for sure.
April 5th
She is looking better today still has some recovery time to do.
Took off her lst tie downs for now so she can use her energy during this time.
Pretty proud of myself as a new grower however
I Wish I had spotted the npk/ cal mag probably be for hand. Started with yellowish color
When this happened I didn't react fast enough.
Told myself it wasn't a big deal.... a few days later she started to get even brighter with brown spots. Today she is darker brown spots/ tips of leafs are decreasing.
April 7th
Yesterday was feeding at half strength these NPK nutrients from raw are working excellent. A little pricey but, i can see myself definitely being a returning customer.
She's drinking around 3/4 of a gallon pre week.
On Sunday April 4th
1/2 gallon with the npk and cal/mag
Thursday 6th 1/4 gallon npk 1/2 strength
cal/mag full.
Bent her back over today to continue her LST Banzai. invested in some soft Garden cord/training wire.
She's definitely not at 100% but I can tell she's getting better.
April 21
Nothing really to report everything is looking good trying to give her a couple more weeks before I send her into flower.
She's eating half of her recommended NPK nutrients twice a week.
Happy 4/20 everyone
April 27
Well everything is looking good humidifier has been eliminated for now!
probably be her last week of veg.
Might stick with the same nutrition for the first week!
Because new study show the plants require a little nitrogen in the first couple weeks of flowering.
Going to stick with the same product line using the Raw all in one Bloom nutrients
She's strong and healthy, defoliating as needed.
Note:
With the weather getting hotter I heard a lot of Growers have a problem with keeping their temperature down.
I've learned a new trick that might help other Growers.
Instead of using ice or cold water /a/c
in your tent.
: freeze a couple bathroom towels
Put them in a bucket and as they dethaw they also help keep the water mess at a minimum
Much love
Switch her over on the 12th of may
Topping her off with a little new a soil on top.
She is no longer on her( raw grow) nutrients
That has been replaced with (raw bloom) she's had half strengths nutrients about every three to four days throughout this whole process I would say the recommended nutrients that raw puts on their packaging are just too hot for her to handle and she shows nitrogen burn very fast besides that I would recommend their product
May 24, closing out the first week of flowering everything looks really good a little defoliating not too much the right home about. Bud sites are popping up left and right not sure how many. No sign of hermaphrodite which I'm very happy about. Especially because I know there's probably a couple light leaks
Going into the second week of flowering everything looks great
Pretty even canopy all the way around.
did have to tie a couple branches back just a little bit to help out with circulation and photosynthesis
Since I don't use a very powerful light or a very powerful fan
Feeding 1/2 strength every 3 to 4 days
JUNE 7,
Looking good to finish off the 2nd week
Same feeding schedule, went in this afternoon to defoliate a little bit and get rid of some LARP
Main colas are doing especially well
Got her stretched out a little bit more
Think I'm getting enough light penetration throughout the whole plant. Not bad for a little spider farm light
With it being so hot and humid the last couple days I let her dry out just a little bit before I gave her a nice watering today pardon her if she looks a little droopy.
Hoping to harvest sometime in August.
Throughout the last couple weeks of her life her main stock was split up the middle (from week 7 topinng that split the top and i didn't notice for two weeks I could have taped her if I noticed it sooner and she would have probably recovered 100%) which..... caused me to pull out probably a week early.
She is very sticky as looks like somebody rolled her around and glitter very proud of my frist grow.
I'll come back with updates and close ups after dry and trim she was a good girl had a lot of fun. learned a lot of stuff can't wait to start again!!!!!
This is my first grow so what can I say.
I learned a lot went from using a closet and tarp. With the best Walmart lights you can find to improving throughout the grow.
Around week 7 I topped her heavy
And LST/ HST which caused her stock to split up the middle.
Being new to the game did not realize it for a couple weeks ( could have just taped her)
Looking back to that is when I learned the most so it's not a lose-lose.
Granddaddy Purple or as we called her
Amethyst!!!!
Was a great grow. She would let you know when she was hungry right away so it was easy to stay on track of her eating schedule
Special shout out to NPK nutrients
They're easy to work with and doesn't make your whole house feel like a science project!!!!!
