So these little ladies are 2 seeds of 6 seeds I germinated. Purchased from Garden of Green, who has a "Germination Guarantee" posted on their site but refuses to respond to emails about 4 failed seeds. I won't be purchasing seeds from them again. This is also a tic against Expert seeds as Garden of Green is a middleman.
Seed 1 germinated in room temp purified water for 24 hours before a tail popped. Once the tail was visible she was placed in Fox Farm - Ocean Forest Organic soil with worm castings added. Seed 2 germinated in room temp purified water for 36ish hours before the tail finally popped. Then watered both with 80% RO and 20% charcoal-filtered Tap water mixed with 3 tablespoons of worm castings per gallon. I used bamboo stakes to train the seedlings to keep them from getting too tall right from the get-go. This is technically the 2nd week but I'm mixing germination with the first week as I was too busy to put together a diary last week. Plus the second seed took much longer to germinate.
I've decided not to LST these ladies as they are Autos. After doing a little background research on LST with autos and not having done autos in the past I don't want to screw these up. As they go into Flower on their own I don't want to cause too much stress on them in the event they go into flower. While they are a ways off from that point I know there is not a lot of risk in that but I think I'll hold off on LST for another grow. I added Superthrive and Cal-mag at the beginning of the week and watched for any nutrient burn. The soil im using is all organic and I figured it would cover most of the bases nute wise so I thought I may be overdoing it, but after getting through a couple of days without any burn I decided to start them on nute boosts 2x a week.
Very decent growth for the week. However the younger of the two got a little more leggy than I like so the sticks remain to keep her out of the soil.
Other than all that nothing much else happening with them.
Decent Growth this week. No change to the feeding schedule. I started to notice fungus gnats towards the end of this week so I've added glue boards and have started bottom feeding. DE powder may be necessary if the problem persists.
The lil ladies are looking good this week. Same nutrient mix as last week. I've increased the lighting schedule to 23 hours. No other changes, no sign of deficiencies.
Huge growth this week. Trimmed off a few of the large fans for better light down the middle. Also knocked off all the little side shoots so she can put all her focus on the mains. Light Schedule is 24 on 1 off. Stopped all cal and mag nutes and switched over to Phos. Also started White Widows and Blue Dreams.
Huge growth on them once moved into the Veg tent. One of the 2 is pushing 6 feet. The one I've posted photos of is most likely the only one I will keep. The other is going to end up being too tall for the tent. I may end up knocking off the main cola or just tossing the whole thing altogether. The next few weeks will determine what will happen to it. Nutes have been knocked back to once every three feedings. No sign of trouble nutrient wise so im pleased so far.
Moving right along. These ladies are real growers. Very stretchy despite an enormous amount of light. No real changes other than the start of buds. I cut back on the nutrients a bit and they are doing very well. Lopped off all the undergrowth and removed any potential buds that would just turn into popcorn.
These ladies are also LST mandatory going forward. I've not had growth on anything like these since I did Northern Lights. The downside is that they are doing it in flower. I do not have high hopes for a decent yield on these.
So these lil ladies are massive growers. Despite having more than enough light they just keep going and going. I am really thinking about just putting them out of their misery. Looks like these girls are just going to be producing popcorn.
Growth is still crazy. Buds are getting denser and becoming a little more promising. I was going to chop these ladies but I've decided to keep them. Something is better than nothing.
Density is increasing quite well. Started seeing deficiencies this week. Ran a flush early in the week to rule out lock-out. Gave broad spectrum nutes to cover all the bases. Leaves on all my flowering plants got burned rather badly over the week but I think I've nailed down the issue. Only time will tell.
These ladies are getting super thick. Trichomes are popping up all over the place. Things are looking great. Trichomes are just now turning cloudy. Looking fantastic.
So I missed a week. So I am catching up. There have been no changes in the last 2 weeks. I am at this point just waiting for the trichomes to mature. The leaves are all yellowing and falling off which is a great sign. Trichomes are cloudy and there are no signs of any amber on any of my ladies. As there are some strains that do not turn amber I am going to harvest regardless of amber trichomes once the majority of the leaves have fallen.
Good growth on the colas. These ladies are over their due date and I am looking forward to harvest. I've got several new lil ladies who need to move into this tent and they are holding up the line. As the leaves are dropping and the colas are dense and full they should be ready in the next week or two.
