Day 1 to 7 Saturday
Here we go, first photoperiod grow. Been putting it off since I was comfortable with the autos but it's time we try some new genetics 🤑
310ppm @ 5.8
26c/65rh VPD is good
Lights 36" from tops @ 100w for now.
Day 4
Lights from 100w to 125w @ 36"
Ouu I just realized the 2nd Cherry Gar See Ya seed popped. I will probably switch it out with the Grandpa's Stash since it was supposed to be a backup. I have a bunch of them I will grow next.
Day 5
Lights 150w @ 24"
Day 7
Backed off lights. 120w @ 24".
This week been filling a water bottle with 500ml worth and feeding them between the 4 plants 2-3 times per day. Always had that over watering fear but damn looks like I had it wrong. Fast growth here by day 7. Let's go!
D8 to 14 Saturday
Started off the week nicely. The two in the back row are growing pretty aggressive and I'm diggin it!
470ppm @ 5.8
Lights 130w @ 24"
VPD ✅
D8
Heavy watering to wash away the salts @ 470ppm
15 to 21
Getting big quickly. They are a bit short, so I raised the light to about 30" and I dropped down to like 60w to hope they stretch a bit. Looking forward to this one
630ppm @ 5.8
Lights 24" @ 100w
D20
Leaf tucking
Haven't fed in a while.
D21
Bottom feeding now by hand
22 to 28
D23
Noticed a huge growth spurt between yesterday and today. I guess that bottom feed really made the roots go wild. Will transplant into the autopots at the end of the week. I am not going to use the 7gallon pots anymore, it's way too much coco. I am moving down to 3.7gal pots which will be easier for the roots to reach the bottom and give me better growth.
720ppm @ 5.8 full veg this week bottom feed. They l-o-v-e it.
I already see the benefits to growing photos. So much less stressful and guarantees a full tent. I wish I tried it sooner!
D24
Feed 700ppm
Removed a couple big fans from each plant
D26
LST and defol
Moved lights closer. 18" @ 160w
29 to 35
Dealt with some transplant shock for a few days and plants weren't looking the best. They are catching up and roots have touched the bottom.
Just manually bottom feeding a couple more days
700ppm @ 5.8 full veg
Geekbeast 20" @ 300w
36 to 42
Plants picking up. I am a bit behind where I was hoping to be by now but they are starting to blow up finally. Probably flipping in 3-4 days.
800 @ 5.8
Lights ~18" @ 460w
Day 1 to 7 flower Saturday
Schwazzed these plants today and will be doing it again on day 21 of flower. After that they will be good for the rest of the grow. The tent is fricken HOT 🔥 after removing all those leaves. I had to put a humidifier back in there until they pick up again and start to generate their own moisture. Increased the humidity to keep VPD in check.
Tent is currently at 29c/63rh
I have a half a res of veg nutes in there @ 830ppm. I will switch to bloom throughout the week.
Day 5
Quarter bloom @ 960ppm
Flower 8 to 14
F13
Lights 600w
Half bloom 980ppm @ 5.9
I am going half on the velokelp this time.
Definitely need to do some training and hit them with another big defol but I won't strip them too hard for another 7 days.
These babies are booming!!!! Why was I growing autos again? Lol
F15 to F21 Saturday
These mufuggas are huuuuge. I didn't want to defoliate yet but there was just so many branches and fans I had to do a defol and prune a ton of bud sites. I try to limit each plant at around 20-25 heads each and I find with a good LST, they will fill all the gaps nicely without getting too crowded.
I will do one last major dramatic defoliation on F21 (like I did at the start of last week) and I shouldn't need to touch them again till harvest.
I notice such a difference between photos and autoflowers. It's hard to explain what it is, but they just seem to have much more power in them or something. I can already tell this will be really good shit.
F17
Moved the fans on top of my light and I am blowing through the bars. It seems to be doing fine which is nice since they are no longer blocking light, and that means I can get my lights closer. It was also causing a little wind burn in one of them.
Lights 14" @ 100%
25c/56%rh - VPD ✅
980ppm full bloom
Warning ⚠️ Big ramble ahead
F22 W4 flower start
-1000ppm @ 6.0 full bloom, half Velokelp. Might drop it altogether in the next week or two.
- Lights 1-2 inches from the mains and-8"-10" from the canopy. I'm surprised I'm not seeing any signs of light stress. I don't think I've ever had better looking leaves before. I'll probably meet to raise the lights a bit as the buds will most likely grow into them otherwise.
-26c/52rh - it's a bit warmer in the tent after the big defol, it will go down in a few days when the leaves start to grow back. Wife is complaining about it being too cold in the house. I gave her some wool socks to buy some time 😎
Stretch is done. The buds are starting to grow noticeably quick now. I did the final big defoliation and now they just coast to the line while I focus on my other tent. I'm so hyped by these plants, so strong, big and gummy already.
F26
I defoled too early last time and I was a bit too loose thinking I should probably not remove all the fans or the tent might get hot, but the sheer size of these plants alone would have been transpiring enough to keep the tent dialed in. I will remember for next time to wait a bit longer, and strip them more aggressively so I don't have to come back in and do it for the 4th time. Man photos are wild. The frost on these plants is pretty crazy too.
Upped feed to 1050ppm. PK boost 4:4.5 - next week I'll look at 4:5 @ 1200ppm and peak there.
F29 to F35
Looking good, starting to get really frosty and bulk. I'm going to hang on a little longer before feeding stronger since they haven't really started to bulk hard yet.
I don't really love to get clickbaity with the lights out pics but these plants are super frosty and I wanted to show them sparkle lol
Lights anywhere from 2"-14" @ 100%
26c/51rh
1050ppm @ 6.0-6.2 half VK and 1.125x PK astroflower
F33
1200ppm full bloom. Half Velo. Slightly more 1.2x astro
F36 to 42
1200ppm @ 6-6.2
Still going well. Very frosty and starting to show their form
In a few days I am going to pull them all out and get rid of some more fans. Do they ever stop growing? I will be more aggressive on the next grow I guess lol
F38
Small cleanup
Lowered to 1100ppm. I noticed some burned tips. Whoa horsey!
F43 to F49 Sat
The nutrients for this week are in parts. I put those ratios in the bucket and added water to dilute down to ~1150ppm (2.3ec) @ 6.0-6.2
Love the colors, especially the Cherry Gar-See-Ya (back right), I've never had a purple plant before, it's beautiful! So much frost on these babies and they are taking an absolute beating from the lights. I was expecting them to stress out but they are holding up very nicely, especially the colas which are 1-2" away. The buds aren't very big compared to some of my other grows, so I'm not sure what yield will look like.
1150ppm @ 6.0
25-26c / ~49% rh
F57 to 63
Buds are starting to get hard so I'd say another 7 days max for the entire tent. Will probably have to cut one or two earlier.
Frost is pretty crazy and the smells coming from here is different. Looking forward to this one
1100ppm at the upper ratios, 6.0-6.2ph
26-27c @ ~49rh
No foxtails yet, lights are still running at max
F61
Turned lights down a bit to 550w. Tent is holding at 26-27c/47. Probably going to chop them down tomorrow!
These were all chopped down at the same time total time was 15 full weeks. The math on growdiaries could use some updating. I also notice on multi strain grows it'll mess with your gram/watt stat, which isn't the end the world but still meh, I like the stats to be accurate.
Anyway
Sticky, golf ball sizes buds that are mega dense. This thing went all purple and smells like a cherry lifesaver. This one I'm most excited for 🤑🤑
