Fingers crossed since this is the first time in my life that I'm growing hydroponically; we'll see how it goes. The movement has already started, and the cuttings have been transplanted into the hydro with a growth solution. In the end, I planted 4 Mendocino, 4 Wappa, and 2 Dos Si Dos 33, a total of 10. Honestly, the roots were looking really nice; they were in easyplugs, which I think is pressed coco or something like that. I was really surprised by the roots of the cuttings; now we'll see how they do in a week. I added 25L of osmosis water with an initial EC of 0.08 and added: From Advance Nutrients: 1ml per liter of Sensi Grow A and B at a lower dose since they are small cuttings rooting in the medium. 1ml per liter of B 52 1ml per liter of Cal Mag From Hesi: 1ml per liter of rooting solution pH at 5.8 EC 0.87 Water 20° 25.8° Humidity 73%

They've started to react and grow; the roots are going strong but are hard to photograph without messing them up, so I decided not to. They already have some deficiencies since the EC was low in the first week; this week, during the water change, the EC has been raised before any potential deficiencies get worse. They've consumed about 5L this week, which must have gone between the plants and evaporation. I've turned on the fan to move the air, with extraction for 15 minutes every 2 hours to renew the air. Parameters: Humidity: 70/80% Temperature: 26° Water Temperature: 21° pH: 6.08 EC: 1.69 Starting EC: 0.08 from GrowMax filter osmosis water 34L of water Nutrients: Advance 2ml/L Sensi Grow A 2ml/L Sensi Grow B 1ml/L Cal Mag 1ml/L B52 Hesi 1ml/L Rooting Agent The irrigation timer is the same. I’m updating at the end of the second week of growth since I usually change the water on Saturday or Sunday mornings, as I have more time to light one up while enjoying my coffee and mixing the nutrients. Today, the plants' menu has changed since starting this week I’m putting them into flowering, as they grow by the day and I don’t want them to get out of hand. This afternoon, when the lights turn on, it will be in a 12/12 period. I’ve adjusted the timers for the lights, extraction, and watering since it turns on for 15 minutes every 2 hours when the light is off, and on for 15 minutes every hour. Water heater is off, as the water is between 18° and 21° with the ambient temperature. From now on, I need to keep the pH higher than 5.8; aiming for 6.0 and 6.2. Today, when mixing the nutrients in the tank water, it automatically set to 5.8 with Advance and Growmax Filters reverse osmosis water, which comes out at 0.08 EC. I made the mix putting a little less than what the bases say, but for the additives, I used what it said. The EC is a bit high for my taste; I have a 6L bottle of reverse osmosis water ready in case I need to lower it in the next few hours, just need to adjust the pH again. From tonight, I’ll turn on all the lights and get everything going for the most fun and entertaining moment of the grow, watching those fantastic flowers grow!!!! VicMallorca Hello again, folks!!! Here we are for another week in our first hydroponic setup with Growmax reverse osmosis filters, along with some other news! I also want to let you know that you can follow me on my Instagram account @vicmallorca_grower, where I update more often and post more content than on the forums! The news is the Milwaukee pH controller with a peristaltic pump so I don’t have to check or adjust the pH of the solution anymore; now it’s just about changing the water with nutrients every week and that’s it. I also changed the air pump for a dual-output one that’s a bit more powerful, so I can distribute the air bubbles across two stones instead of just one. This week they’ve really stretched out, the pre-flowers aren’t visible yet, but the size indicates they’re in the flowering stage. Normally, the first and second weeks are for growth, and by the end of the second week, they start showing pre-flowers. I’ve pruned the lower branches, and soon I’ll do some defoliation to let light reach all the branches and future buds. The EC from the previous change was stronger than this week, but honestly, there hasn’t been an excess of nutrients; they haven’t burned or shown any deterioration. On the contrary, they’re growing by the minute! I’ve been keeping a close eye on them in case any burn appeared from excess, but everything’s good, nothing. This week, I added Big Bud to the nutrient tank mix in the right amount; let’s see how they respond! The roots are already peeking out from under the pots reaching the tank, so I’ll have to watch them to make sure they don’t get into the pump or get tangled up. Also, this week I built myself a mini hydroponic/aeroponic setup to put 4 mothers next year, completely avoiding soil and its pests and other issues... With a 25L tank, it’s more relaxed for hydroponics since the next season will start in September when the temperatures drop, allowing you to begin. I’m already looking at which strains to plant for the next season; any suggestions are welcome! This week they've drunk quite a bit more, besides the size they've reached and the temperatures that have gone up a bit, forcing me to keep the extraction on during all hours with the lights on since otherwise, they shot up to 28°C. With the extraction on, we're at 25°C and a humidity of 47%, which I suppose will make them drink more as well. This week, I've added a few more liters of solution, bringing it almost to the top of the tank; the roots of the plants are peeking out from below and are already in the tank. Let's hope there are no issues with the recirculation and watering pumps. This week, I've added B52 to the watering mix, and by adding more water, the EC has been quite controlled. I've removed the rooting agent since they had plenty of it, and this way, the EC is maintained better. They don't have deficiencies or excesses from the previous weeks when the EC was very high; they do have reserves to feed themselves fully! VicMallorca Hello again in another weekly update! This week has been all about marking where the flowers are, making the final stretch, and starting the flowering party with its smells! It's also noticeable that they are drinking more; with the rising temperatures, the humidity in the environment has dropped, and since they are in flowering and have a good size, they have almost drunk all the water from the tank, leaving about 18L of the 40L that was put in the tank during the last change. This week’s change will be 45L, which is the maximum capacity of the tank without being in direct contact with the bases of the pots. The roots are bursting out all over the bottom of each pot. This week I also added H2O2 (5% hydrogen peroxide) to clean up possible bacteria and molds a bit; this should be done from time to time despite having two air stones running 24h, as it also helps clean the water a bit. The ratio of water and H2O2 is... Also, from time to time, I remove any leaves that can block light to the lower branches. I tried to put the SCROG net up, but it was impossible; I ended up breaking a tip, and being in flowering could create stress and mess up the whole plant and its production, so in the next season, I will definitely put the net up. I’ll leave you some photos so you can see how it’s going, along with some pictures of the roots! Initially, I will discard the Mendocino and the Wappa, keeping the 2 Si Dos 33 from Barneys, which is the one I’ve liked the most in terms of flavor, production, and ease of growing. Instead of keeping them in soil, I’ll try a hydroponic setup I made to have 4 mothers at once; we’ll see how it works. For next year, I’m already looking at seeds to have an idea of where to go. I was thinking of going all out with just one haze, choosing two species; one would be the Liberty Haze from Barneys, and the other is still undecided. VicMallorca Hello again! Here we are with the weekly update! We’ve entered the 5th week of flowering, and things are getting really crazy! Honestly, it already smells pretty good, and they’re taking up all the space in the closet. I’m going to have to do a bit more severe defoliation to ensure that the buds that are lower down get good light; they’ll probably be the ones that end up in the sieve as hash. The flowers are starting to fatten up and develop fully; there are flowers everywhere! It’s a bit of a madness, I think I’ll need to make them smaller next time before putting them into flowering. They’re also drinking and evaporating the water from the tank at an accelerated pace with the temperatures. This week I had to add another 45L, and from the previous week’s 45L, there are 19L left that are going to the tomato plants in the garden. This week, I’m introducing the overdrive from Advance, and we’ll see how the buds grow even more. Temperatures have risen, and I have the extraction running for 12 hours while it’s on, and when it’s off, every 15 minutes of each hour. We’re hitting peak temperatures of 28°C, which should make them absorb more water and nutrients. I’ve had to occasionally add a couple of ice cubes of osmosis water to keep it from rising above 20°C. We’ll see how the following weeks go; I’ll need to keep an eye on the water left at the end of the week, and temperatures tend to rise around here. I hope I get lucky. VicMallorca Hello again, folks! In the weekly update of the first hydroponic grow with the GrowMax Water filters. We are now in the 6th week of flowering, and this week has focused on fattening up and growing the size of the buds. There are 3 that seem like the tips are stressed or are growing slower, while their satellites are fatter and looking better than the main one. I’ll leave you some photos. The rest are actually doing quite well; the buds look well-formed and resinous. Some are already starting to have brown hairs, but I think they still need a good explosion. This week is the last one with such a high EC, and next week I’ll start reducing the doses so they can start using their reserves. For the next one, I need to keep an eye on the roots since they’ve all gone straight to the air diffuser stones and the pumps, which I have to watch out for because if they block everything, it’s a problem. Temperatures are rising, and I’m controlling the water temperature by adding 2 cups of ice from osmosis water every day, keeping it at 19/20°C, but the ambient temperature is quite hard to control. We’ve reached the top EC level possible, hitting 3. I don’t quite understand why, following the Advance chart, it gets to such extreme EC levels. This week, I added Rhino Skin for more silicon, but I see that with Advance, you need the whole range since they have very low amounts of everything, especially in N and PK. For the next round, I’ll change fertilizers; if anyone has any suggestions for hydro, they’re welcome! This week has been a bit hectic overall, the plants seem ready, but I'll leave them a bit longer with just water to flush out all the nutrients they've stored since they seem overfed and are "vomiting" nutrients, as the EC when I changed the water went up more than what I put in, starting at a high of 3.55 and coming out at 6.4, honestly, that's insane. I opted to leave them with 24h of just osmosis water at an EC of 0.08. As the hours went by, it started rising, and after 12 hours it was at 2.15 EC; after 24 hours it was at 4.12, so I decided to change it again. After 10 hours, it was at 1.65. After 18 hours, it dropped to 1.35, which means they're already feeding on the leftover nutrients. Midway through this coming week, I will change the water and put in Flawless Finish for 24 hours and switch to osmosis water with an EC of 0.08. From what I've read, the Flawless Finish from Advance Nutrients is used for 6 hours, but I'll leave it for 24 hours. Then, from what I've read, they say to clean the roots for two or three days, which seems too short to me, so I'll do about 4 days and then switch back to clean water for another 4 days to see if they consume themselves and start showing deficiencies, making them eat themselves clean since I think I've overdone it with the EC. I had to thoroughly clean the entire tank since there were residues from excess nutrients and EC, creating a layer of minerals in the tank and in the waterings that was starting to harm the plants. This week, with the rain and the drop in temperatures, I've had to reduce the extractor time and fan power, achieving ideal temperatures and conditions for the growth stage they are in. We're nearing the end of the grow, and I'm surprised at how fast everything is going in hydroponics. Honestly, next season I'll be back with hydroponics and some things I'm trying to see if next season everything goes even better. I'm already looking for the next selections for the whole coming year, and we'll see what awaits us. We'll have to do the tasting and final weighing to see how it went and what it tastes like, which is the best part!!! The truth is that the experience of growing in inert substrate and hydroponics helps you understand more about how to feed your plants and what each element in the nutrient chart is for, gaining experience while enjoying learning new ways to grow! VicMallorca Well folks, here we are with the plants, the trichomes were already very amber and few were milky. I did quite a significant root cleaning despite differing opinions; I used Flawless Finish for 24 hours, then 72 hours of osmosis water with nothing at 0.08 EC, then another 48 hours of Flawless Finish, and finally 72 hours of osmosis water, with a final EC of 0.48. I probably wasted water and Flawless Finish, but I'd rather waste it than have the weed taste like fertilizer, yikes! This is my first hydroponic grow and I wasn't too confident. I kept the pH between 6 and 6.5 to ensure proper final feeding and cleaning. I was surprised by the roots at the bottom of the pot and the tank; I found the tank, despite cleaning it, quite dirty, and the pumps too. Cleaning the tank while the grow was ongoing wasn't easy, and I see it was somewhat ineffective, something that needs improvement. I think for the next grow, I’ll convert my system to aeroponics to reduce the weight of the expanded clay, so I can open and clean the tank properly. You'll see it. About the plants; when I took them out one by one to cut them, I was surprised by the flaccidity of the branches, they were bending everywhere, and the buds were very heavy; some even broke while outside the cabinet. Also, the amount of branches they developed made some plants' central cola take a back seat while the side ones were even taller and heavier with flowers. The ones that produced the most were the Wappa, with hard, wide buds loaded with resin. I’ll wait for the tasting to see how they turn out in flavor and quality. I should also mention that I didn’t need so much food; I see that with Advance, they suggest using 4ml/L, but it’s better to stick to 2ml/L, and for the additives, max put in 1ml/L, not the 2ml/L specified by the product, as the EC skyrockets and there’s a risk of over-fertilization, which luckily hasn’t happened to me, and I’ve been on the edge. For the next grow, I’m thinking of switching nutrients to see if there’s a brand that wants me to experiment with their feeding range! So that’s it for now, still need to weigh dry and taste! VicMallorca Here we have the Mendocino, where the lateral branches have been more productive than the central colas, a lot of resin and a quite characteristic pine/musk smell. Easy to grow strain, resistant to high humidity, doesn’t like high temperatures indoors or excess nutrients, more on the low side. Short plant with indica traits, very old school skunk.

VicMallorca This plant is quite a bit taller than Mendocino, being quite similar to it. The buds are very thick and heavy, with pronounced branching requiring more space than the others. It's very productive and at the same time easy to grow, resistant to high temperatures and high humidity. High EC doesn't bother it, it likes a pH of 6.2 and fattens up very quickly. This one has given the most yield, highly recommended.

VicMallorca Plant with plenty of branching, popcorn-type buds, resin everywhere, and a sweet smell. The buds have come out quite dense, and high EC levels suit it well, making it gain weight quickly. Easy to grow, but it doesn't like pH fluctuations; pH 6 works perfectly for it. I recommend this strain if you've had several grows without doing anything wrong.
