Oakyy So excited to start my first indoor grow!!😁 It's been a few years since my last outdoor grow, and when I say "grow", I essentially mean "put seeds in ground, harvest in October". There wasn't much effort to the process, as I didn't have the time, and in turn, the results were less than satisfactory. I've been working from home for a while now, so I figured why not give indoor growing a shot and actually put some effort into it? I ended up grabbing a 3x3 AC Infinity kit, as buying similar value equipment individually would've been around the same price at the time. It was super simple to set the tent and equipment up. The controller app was unintuitive at first, but after a bit of time I had some basic automations up and running. While researching, I stumbled upon this site, and it seems like a great community and resource for growers. I'm hoping that by documenting my process here, I can gain some knowledge from those who are more experienced and maybe even help out other beginners... Anyway, that's enough rambling. On to the notes... 03/30/23 - Day 1 - Started germination late at night - Ended up using a damp paper towel placed in a sealed Ziploc bag - My place is pretty cold right now, so I put the bag in between a thick folded towel, placed that on an old heat mat I found, and kept it inside the tent 03/31/23 - Day 2 - Makeshift heat mat seemed to do the trick, as I could see tap roots poking out when I checked them in the afternoon - Figure I'll give 'em one more night 04/01/23 - Day 3 - Tap roots are looking good, and I think they're ready to go - So, around ~48hrs total to germinate - Planted them right into 1 gallon fabric pots - I used Happy Frog soil with ~20% perlite, and presoaked it with filtered room temperature tap water before planting - I wasn't able to test the pH or PPM, as I'm still waiting for my meters to arrive. Hopefully, it's alright - Happy to get these gals in their new home 😃 04/02/23 - Day 4 💤| 🌡️16.6°C/61.88°F 💦 67% 🍃 0.62kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.1°C/77.18°F 💦 43.4% 🍃 01.78kPa - Currently have the light 36" from the top of the pots, on the max intensity setting. Going to start here and move down if it looks like the plants are stretching for light - Temperature dropped a fair amount in my place last night, as it's not very resistant to the change in weather. The tent temperature hit a low of 14C. Probably should've turned the heat up a bit... - Pretty large temp and humidity ranges right now, still need to dial in all the AC Infinity automation stuff 04/03/23 - Day 5 💤| 🌡️18.6°C/65.48°F 💦 66.6% 🍃 0.7kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.5°C/77.9°F 💦 41.1% 🍃 1.88kPa - No signs of life so far, was really hoping to see some green in the morning 😞 - Humidity has been pretty low throughout the day. I added some domes and a tray of water, hopefully that helps a bit. I'll probably need to invest in a humidifier - Tried using the Photone app to measure PPFD. I'm getting a reading of ~300μmol/m²/s at the top of the pots, which I believe is ideal for seedlings. Hopefully the app is somewhat accurate 🤞 - Checked in again a couple of hours before lights off and two little saplings have appeared 🌱✨ 04/04/23 - Day 6 💤| 🌡️20°C/68°F 💦 58.1% 🍃 0.95kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.9°C/76.82°F 💦 43.4% 🍃 1.74kPa - Looks like they're doing well today - Humidity is still a bit low, but I assume the domes are helping 04/05/23 - Day 7 💤| 🌡️18.5°C/65.3°F 💦 66.4% 🍃 0.75kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.8°C/76.64°F 💦 42.4% 🍃 1.76kPa - Took the domes off at night as there were some water droplets forming on the planets, worried that it's getting a little too humid - P1 seems to be a bit slower than P2 at the moment -Overall, I think the first week went pretty well. I'm still getting a handle on managing the tent/lung room climate, but the plants seem to be doing well so far 😁 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 💤 = Lights Off, 💡 = Lights On |🌡️= Temp, 💦 = RH, 🍃 = VPD

I had to edit the photos because they turned out a bit overexposed due to the grow light, but I did my best to make the colours as true to life as possible. My pH and TDS meters arrived but seem faulty, guess I'll need to get better equipment. I might just see how things go for this grow before I splurge on more stuff. Something I noticed this week was that the stems of the leaves are a bit purple. After digging around a bit, I thought it might be due to a phosphorous deficiency. But after checking out a few other Critical Orange Punch diaries here, I saw the same thing, so I'm guessing it's just genetics (Critical X (Grandaddy Purps X Orange Bud)). Also, I forgot to measure the plants at the end of this week and the next. I'll start tracking height at the end of week 3 😅 2023-04-06 - Day 8 💤| 🌡️19.96°C/67.92°F 💦 60.20% 🍃 0.89kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.89°C/76.81°F 💦 40.90% 🍃 1.82kPa - Removed the domes in the morning; little water droplets formed on the leaves 2023-04-07 - Day 9 💤| 🌡️18.65°C/65.57°F 💦 63.22% 🍃 0.78kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.53°C/76.16°F 💦 40.19% 🍃 1.79kPa - Leaves have a yellow outline along the edges, possibly due to dry soil 2023-04-08 - Day 10 💤| 🌡️18.60°C/65.49°F 💦 65.06% 🍃 0.73kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.03°C/75.26°F 💦 63.82% 🍃 1.05kPa - Gave them some water (~1L) as the soil was dry and the leaves were starting to turn yellow along the edges 2023-04-09 - Day 11 💤| 🌡️19.58°C/67.24°F 💦 66.87% 🍃 0.74kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.78°C/76.60°F 💦 44.63% 🍃 1.68kPa - Leaves don't look to be yellow anymore, so I'm guessing it was a lack of water that was causing the discolouring 2023-04-10 - Day 12 💤| 🌡️19.73°C/67.51°F 💦 65.73% 🍃 0.76kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.79°C/76.63°F 💦 41.18% 🍃 1.80kPa - 2023-04-11 - Day 13 💤| 🌡️19.26°C/66.67°F 💦 62.84% 🍃 0.81kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.50°C/77.90°F 💦 37.19% 🍃 2.02kPa - 2023-04-12 - Day 14 💤| 🌡️20.21°C/68.37°F 💦 51.54% 🍃 1.12kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.87°C/78.56°F 💦 37.06% 🍃 2.07kPa - First set of fan leaves are here 🤩 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 💤 = Lights Off, 💡 = Lights On |🌡️= Temp, 💦 = RH, 🍃 = VPD

Oakyy Week 2 💤| 🌡️18.95°C/66.11°F 💦 63.50% 🍃 0.79kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.73°C/76.51°F 💦 48.68% 🍃 1.58kPa Hello there! The past couple of weeks have been super busy, so I didn't get a chance to put my notes together for the grow diary. After the first week, I realized my current process for handling data wouldn't work in the long run, as it was tedious and time-consuming. I was manually copying data from the *.csv files exported from the AC Infinity controller to Excel, taking notes alongside each day's aggregated data, and then copying everything over to GrowDiaries and formatting it the way I liked. So, I decided to write some Python scripts to make things a bit easier. Now, all I need to do is export the *.csv files, and the scripts take care of the rest, storing the data in *.json and giving me a nicely formatted *.md file. Then I can add my daily notes straight to the *.md file and copy them over here 😃👨‍💻 As for the plants, they're looking pretty good so far. Next week, the plan is to top them, starting with P2 because she's a lot taller than P1. I'll also be slowly introducing some nutrients, using the General Hydroponics Flora Series - Gro, Bloom, Micro. Fingers crossed everything works out well 🤞 2023-04-13 - Day 15 💤| 🌡️20.07°C/68.13°F 💦 54.80% 🍃 1.03kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.70°C/78.26°F 💦 43.79% 🍃 1.83kPa - Watered in the morning (1L total, no nutrients) 2023-04-14 - Day 16 💤| 🌡️20.32°C/68.58°F 💦 57.95% 🍃 0.97kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.50°C/77.90°F 💦 39.91% 🍃 1.92kPa - 2023-04-15 - Day 17 💤| 🌡️19.21°C/66.57°F 💦 61.31% 🍃 0.84kPa 💡 | 🌡️25.12°C/77.22°F 💦 41.98% 🍃 1.82kPa - Watered in the morning (1L total, no nutrients) 2023-04-16 - Day 18 💤| 🌡️19.36°C/66.85°F 💦 64.38% 🍃 0.78kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.63°C/76.34°F 💦 49.12% 🍃 1.54kPa - 2023-04-17 - Day 19 💤| 🌡️18.49°C/65.28°F 💦 67.98% 🍃 0.67kPa 💡 | 🌡️24.47°C/76.05°F 💦 50.36% 🍃 1.49kPa - 2023-04-18 - Day 20 💤| 🌡️18.33°C/64.99°F 💦 68.61% 🍃 0.65kPa 💡 | 🌡️23.54°C/74.37°F 💦 58.70% 🍃 1.17kPa - Watered in the morning (1L total, no nutrients) - 3 hour power outage in the morning, has to open up the tent to let some natural light in - Lowered light an inch. Oakyy Well friends, it's a sad morning 😞 The AC Infinity 3x3 S33 Ionboard light that I was sent crapped out at some point last night. I've tried it with and without the controller, using multiple outlets, etc. Nothing works. I'm pretty bummed out right now, as it's only been a month. I purchased the grow kit on Amazon, hopefully the seller can make this right, but I've contacted AC Infinity as well. Anyway, I had another week of updates to post today, but I'm really not feeling it anymore lol

I highly recommend an Elitech RC-4HC if you want to start making use of the logger data. It costs about 25 USD and is well worth it. I just upgraded to a couple of RCW-800WIFI loggers. No more manually pulling data - all cloud upload. Elitech mostly does commercial cold chain monitoring so their cloud product is actually a good buy. I paid around 22 USD to upgrade access to cloud based graphs (free CSV download without the graphs). Adding my second RCW-800WIFI cost NOTHING. You can check Week5 of my current diary for a screenshot of the cloud platform. One thing to note is that I actually make my own graphs using google sheets since I now have custom graphs for the following: Optimal VPD, Temps, RH%, "lights off" times have been added to these graphs, and most recently I have been comparing my lung room logs, my tent logs, and imported weather temps as well. I have screenshots of the homemade graphs in Week10 of my current "Let's Do Some LST"diary.

@NegotiatedBubble, thanks so much for all the info! I'll definitely look into these loggers, not having to manually pull data would be nice lol. Eventually the plan is to build an Arduino based system that I can add and remove sensors to as I need, host all the data on my local network, and build out a simple desktop app for monitoring. That's pretty far off though, so these may be a good solution in the meantime, or at least a source of inspiration ✨
