Germination

TangoNCash Goddamn slug ate one of my plants. I live in the bay area and just leave these out and there has been a ton of rain this year. It enabled a slug to crawl up the little bastard and kill one of my GMO‘s. But I have another guy ready to roll another lemon grass sprouted thankfully as I want five to start with an auto flower.

TangoNCash I think my GMO is stunted. It is the first one in the picture. The two that are biggest star fruit by the foot followed by lemon grass. I just started my normal feminized seeds as well.

Week 5. Flowering

TangoNCash So two of the auto flowers, one GMO from Atlas seeds, one lemon grass from Humboldt, have stunted growth. I believe it is from the cold April, and the fact that these are auto flowers and are finicky. I have never grown auto flower before but now that I have, I think that they can be tricky, perhaps outdoor for auto flower is not the best

TangoNCash In the photo, you can see the lemon grass in the front with the two fruit by the foot in the back. The fruit by the foot is a monster. I highly recommend it as it is proving to be a good producer.

Week 7. Flowering

TangoNCash So the fruit by the foot are looking great they grow so damn well, I am going to be happy. However, the sun did not appear this spring in northern California, so my yield will not be that great I think in the future I will begin by autos in late May.

Week 9. Flowering

TangoNCash Now that the sun is here in late May the plants are really starting to blossom. It occurs to me that my auto flower season must begin a bit later than March however, what I have here are really beautiful plants that will produce some great stuff, but I am guessing it’s going to be around One and a half ounces per plant. Regardless, I am starting my normal feminized seeds now, and they will be a gigantic, September, so this was my plan all along.

Week 10. Flowering

TangoNCash Last week before harvest. I love both of these varieties. Fruit by the foot is starting to give some really nice smell and structure along with nice purple hues. Lemon grass is really perky and definitely will produce some nice nugs.

Week 11. Flowering

TangoNCash I have already chopped down one of my fruit by the foot perhaps a couple of days early just so I can have some pot. It smells great both the fruit by the foot, which has some great purple hues and the lemon brass, which really does smell like lemonade super stoked. I really enjoy growing out door and I feel like it’s a little stronger.

TangoNCash Because I started this outside in March it didn’t do really well in terms of size, but the smoke and flavor is just right. This is my only picture this is my personal stuff and I am stoked.

I've grown off and on as an amateur for about 20 years. This is my first time posting anything about anything. I used to be cheap and not buy femized seeds but last year I grew a TON of male plants so I was like, fuck this! My first year running with seeds I actually purchased. GMO and Froot by the Foot by Atlas Seeds and Lemongrass Auto are my starting autoflowers. Around May I plan on germinating regular femized Humbolt Seeds Pistachio and Solfire Gardens Block Monster. All outdoor grown in the Bay Area, CA. We'll see how it goes. I'm most curious about my Solfire which I've read can be like leather and tabacco (LOL!)...anyways, we'll see.

How many hours of direct sun are they getting? I'm debating whether I should give outdoor a try but the spot I prefer only gets around 5 hours of direct sun.

@TangoNCash, Thanks for the answer. I live in the south so the sun is already hitting hard. Good luck!

@Saucynuggets, to answer your question a little bit better, I put the plants on the south facing side of my house. This being April I think they are getting about 6 to 7 hours of direct sunlight I did this last year as well it worked.

@Saucynuggets, right now, it being April in the bay area not too much sun. But they are alive and well. What I am curious about is the whole 70 days from start to finish. I wonder if that is true or if it is more based on light. In any event, I am hopeful for a harvest in June and I will quickly replant another auto flower session with the hope of harvesting in late September.

Agreed, outdoor growing is so gratifying and nothing beats the sun. The plants seem so much happier outside as long as conditions are ok. Bugs and critters and mold etc can be tricky but each has its solution. 🙏 happy smoking puff puff!!😎
the end.
