I got this beautiful package from Royal Queen Seeds. Tremendous thanks to Pol and the RQS crew 🙏🙏🙏 A while ago, they asked me if I was interested to grow their brand new F1-hybrids seeds. 😵 However, at that time I didn't have room to grow them. But after harvesting my previous grow, I had some room to grow again. 😋 I asked them to sent me one of each (of these 8 new strains) 😁 I planned to grow 8 plants with my proven autopot system. But because maybe not all seeds would germinate, I asked them to send me 2 of each. 👊😁 When I received my package I found 3 seeds of each strain. More than I expected! Along with lots of other useful merchandising such as grinders, T-shirt, eco stuff, matches, rolling papers and info about the new F1 hybrid seeds. Many thanks for that Pol and RQS! 😍👍 I had worried needlessly, because all the seeds have germinated. So 100% success rate! 😃👌 Next week I will decide to give away the surplus 8 plants to a friend (if he has space - still to cold to grow them outside), or keep all 16 plants (and instead of the autopot system of 8 x 25 liter pots maybe let all 16 plants mature in smaller pots) .... 😑 What would you do? 😏

👉 As I mentioned last week, all the seeds had germinated, leaving me with a bit too many plants than usual. I thought about giving them to my friend, but he had already started a new breeding so I decided to keep them all anyway. 👉 Originally I only wanted to plant 8 in autopots, but now I have 16 in regular pots. However, I had put together the potting mixture for the autopots, so that is rather on the airy side with 50% perlite. 👉 The seedlings were still very small and had very few roots when I repotted them. At the end of the week, the plants had already grown considerably, requiring no support. I gave the plants a one-time dose of organic liquid fertilizer and I covered the pots with a layer of perlite for maximum reflection of the light. This is my recipe : 2x 50 liter Plagron Light-Mix 2x 50 liter Plagron Perlite 1000 gr. Biovin 👉 https://bioplantenvoeding.nl/en/product/biovin-5-kg/ 200 gr. 👉 This week I had expected a big growth spurt, but I was a bit disappointed. The plants give a somewhat freel impression. The leaves are a bit too light green in color. It's like they don't absorb much nitrogen. Yet my soil mixture is more than sufficiently fertilized. The branches are also not that strong. 👉 I am very happy to have two plants of each strain. That way I can compare within the same strain. For example, contrary to what I expected, plants of the same strain are not so uniform. The difference in height between one plant and another of the same strain is sometimes very large. I expected them to be more homogeneous (as the official explanation from RQS claims). 👽 Apollo - the strain with the smallest plant, but the darkest green leaves 👻 Cosmos - the CBD strain, is growing with great vigor and big leaves 👹 Epsilon - medium growth and firmness 😍 Hyperion, - the tallest and most beautiful plants 👍 Medusa - medium tall 💪 Milky Way- medium tall 😎 Orion - medium tall 👊 Titan - one medium and one not that good looking plant

The plants have done very well this week 😍 Some do better than others 😜 It looks like the roots have found the nutrient tablets at the bottom of the pots, because the new leaves are much darker green👍 I gave the plants a little more space and turned on my second lamp (600 watt HPS) as well 💪 The Medusa shows her first flowering signs. So next week will be the first week of flowering 😘 👉👈 Height within the same species also varies quite a bit. That is why I measured the height of the plants: 👆👇 Apollo : #1=25cm ; #2=20cm Cosmos : #1=40cm ; #2=35cm Epsilon : #1=30cm ; #2=30cm Hyperion : #1=50cm ; #2=45cm Medusa : #1=55cm ; #2=45cm Milky Way : #1=45cm ; #2=25cm Orion : #1=50cm ; #2=45cm Titan : #1=30cm ; #2=25cm

This week was even better than last week 😍😍😍 Even the lesser plants have caught up considerably 😘 All plants are flowering 😎 -------------------------------------------------------------- I did two defoliations this week : ->on day 29, I removed 3 pairs of fanleaves from the main stem ->on day 34, I removed - from the lower 4 sidebranches - two pairs of growtips and leaves; and also one pair of top fanleaves. No liquid nutrients, only water😹 The photos I took on day34 were taken at 8 o'clock in the evening, the leaves are therefore a bit saggy; And by the evening light the color of the leaves gives a bit of a distorted picture. The leaves appear somewhat purplish. They are actually dark green. 😄 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I measured the plants again and calculated the growth progression of each plant, from last week to this week Titan made the most progress. Cosmos the least. Apollo : #1=25cm ; #2=20cm => #1 = 50cm (+100%) ; #2 = 45cm (+120%) Cosmos : #1=40cm ; #2=35cm => #1 = 65cm (+62%) ; #2 = 50cm (+43%) Epsilon : #1=30cm ; #2=30cm => #1 = 65cm (+116%) ; #2 = 60cm (+100%) Hyperion : #1=50cm ; #2=45cm => #1 = 80cm (+60%) ; #2 = 75cm (+67%) Medusa : #1=55cm ; #2=45cm => #1 = 90cm (+64%) ; #2 = 80cm (+78%) Milky Way : #1=45cm ; #2=25cm => #1 = 70cm (+56%) ; #2 = 45cm (+80%) Orion : #1=50cm ; #2=45cm => #1 = 85cm (+70%) ; #2 = 75cm (+67%) Titan : #1=30cm ; #2=25cm => #1 = 60cm (+100%) ; #2 = 60cm (+140%)

👉 Probably the second week of flowering, although that's hard to say with automatics. In any case, it goes very quickly. It seems that the plants (compared to normal plants) are well past their third week of flowering. 🙏 👉 At this rate, we are harvesting quickly. 😍 Some plants have a sativa look, they may need a little more time. 😏 👉 I raised the plants individually by standing them on upturned pots. That way they all look about the same size and they all get enough light. 👍 👉 Because I defoliated the plants a lot last week, they absorb less water.😹 👉 Tallest plant = 106cm (Orion) ; Smallest plant = 55cm (Apollo)

👉 This week I defoliated the plants twice. Quite a few leaves suffered from yellow spots and even brown spots. I removed these leaves because it didn't seem right to me. The plants are now more defoliated than initially intended; The advantage is that the tops get more light. Due to the defoliation, the plants also consume a little less water ✊ About the yellow/brown spots : I have the impression that not all plants absorb the nutrition of the tablets equally well. Could be due to the soil mix being very airy with 50% perlite (this was because I initially wanted to grow the plants in my Autopots, but because I had a lot of plants I had to change my plans). As a result, not every plant gets the right amount of water, as happens with the Autopots. 😪 👉The plants - despite the problem mentioned above - are doing quite well. In any case, the flowering phase is very fast. 👍 👉 At the end of the week (DAY48) I took the plants outside for a photo shoot. The sun was shining quite bright, hence the sometimes overexposed photos. 😎 👉 Some plants already smell very nice 😍

Plants are going well. 😊 Not so fat buds (yet). 😕 But very nice scents 😍 Very strong main and side branches. No support needed. Ideal for beginners and lazy growers 😄 Not that many trichomes. Hopefully they will appear in the following weeks 😏 Very mild defoliation this week Height of all plants ; + Percentage increase in growth, since the start of flowering Apollo #1 = 64cm ; +156% Apollo #2 = 58 cm ; +190% Cosmos #1 = 78 cm ; +63% Cosmos #2 = 72 cm ; +106% Epsilon #1 = 80 cm ; +167% Epsilon #2 = 60 cm ; +100% Hyperion #1 = 100 cm ; +100% Hyperion #2 = 84 cm ; +87% Medusa #1 = 100 cm ; +82% Medusa #2 = 95 cm ; +111% Milky Way #1 =77 cm ; +71% Milky Way #2 =65 cm ; +160% Orion #1 =106 cm ; +112% Orion #2 =84 cm ; +87% Titan #1 =80 cm ; +167% Titan #1 =73 cm ; +192% 100% organic. This week I gave once a 20ml / 500ml water for each plant of DCM Groenten en Kruiden (comparable with Orgatrex from BioTabs).

👉 This week the plants have entered their final phase of flowering. 👉 The buds become harder and harder, the smell is very strong, and the trichomes become numerous. 👉 All 16 plants are doing great. Not a single plants is doing badly. 👉 The plants have a lot of side branches so the main bud is not that big. But the buds on the side branches do no worse than the main bud. 👉 The side branches are very sturdy, allowing the buds to grow even fatter without needing support. 👉 The quality of the buds can be compared to that of non-automatics , but everything goes much faster. No male sex characteristics like bananas. 👉 Because we now have outside temperatures of around 30°C, I put the plant outside or in the greenhouse during the sunniest hours of the day. 👉 Some plants are still dark green, while some are already yellowing.

👉 Last week before harvesting. Just like the germination, the formation of the flowers, the ripening also went very quickly. The buds are hard and smell great. 👉 RQS has created a new milestone with this F1 hybrid line. Fast, excellent quality. More homogeneous and stable than the traditional (modern) feminized strains, but with the speed of autoflowers. The best of both worlds.

I had 2 Apollo plants : (16 plants / 1200 watts) #1 = 65 grams #2 = 55 grams Total = 120 grams (for 150 watts) ========================================================================= This is about the F1 hybrids in general. I grew 2 plants from each of the 8 new strains. So 16 plants in total : 👉 RQS certainly succeeded in making great uniform varieties. 👋The plants germinate very fast, steady growers and nice flowering as well. And 100% Sinsemilla.😍 👉 Ideal for small growrooms and growers who struggle to know the ideal time to switch from 18 to 12 hours.👍 👉 I understand that RQS has put a lot of effort into developing these new genetics, but the new F1 hybrids didn't fully convince me at this stage yet. 😢 👉 The taste of the endproduct could be better and the effect could be stronger (except Epsilon, Milky Way and Orion, which are my favorites). Cosmos is nice to smoke as well, but she's a CBD strain. 😐 👉 Plants flower quickly, but all that time all automatics consume 18 hours of light instead of 12 hours. For LED growers or growers with a poorly insulated growing room, this could be an advantage that there is less time for the growroom to cool down during cold nights. 👉 👉 I understand that RQS has put a lot of effort into developing these new genetics, but the new F1 hybrids didn't fully convince me at this stage yet. 😢 The project is promising and I believe that RQS had developed what could be a great start of the future of very uniform automatic cannabis strains: easy to grow and some clonelike uniformity. 😍I suspect the high price of the seeds has more to do with what this project has already cost than the current state of the quality of the seeds. 😏 But if you search for uniform, manageable and easy to grow plants, they are a great choice.
