Well here goes nothing! Only one seed so this is do or die lol, but at least it looks quite healthy. Going to start it indoors until it sprouts, it's only 45°F for a high during the day and 29°F for a low at night so there's no way to get her outside today. I have a 10ft x 10ft pop up greenhouse that I plan to have functional by the weekend.
Update*- Smoothie sprouted on 4/22 yesterday and is looking like a healthy girl. So stoked!
Still inside for the first half of this week, it's only 40°F for a high temp. for a few days with lows at night below the freezing mark still. Nothing but straight RO water and a litte bit of microbes for her start.
Unfortunately I didn't get her repotted quick enough and my yield will suffer, bummer. All I can do is push on and see what happens. Just a touch of nutrients for now.
A little procrastination really set my smoothie back in size. She was transplanted into a 3 gallon pot with pro mix, perlite, blood meal, bone meal, worm castings and fish meal. Then she was placed outside in the greenhouse with some friends. Only time will tell!
Winter just doesn't want to give up, we had three nights with a freeze warning this week so I took the risk and added a heat lamp in the greenhouse just to be safe. A couple young silky chickens were housed in there for those extra cold nights and they left some droppings in smoothie's pot but I think I'm going to remove almost all of it, it's too hot with nitrogen. The baby chicks also broke a lower fan leaf on her so I just finished the job and removed it all the way. I've been adding two hours of light each night and sometimes on cloudy days, with some waterproof cob led lights inside the greenhouse to hopefully gain some headway before she's in full blown flower.
Flowering is in full effect now so I've switched over to a more bloom orientated nutrient composition. Also shut off any artificial light source for about a week now as I prepare to break down the greenhouse.
