Welcome to the outdoor grow of 2023! This season we will be growing outdoor plants for the first time. The two plants we will be growing out is a Blue Dream (ILGM) and a Fire Purps (Humboldt CSI). I'm super excited to get this going. I will be starting the plants inside in my tent and will be hardening them off in about two weeks. They will then go into two 3x3x2 garden beds. I've previously ran the Blue Dream from ILGM indoors before and it was killer. Big fat colas and dense nugs with a beautiful fruity/berry/floral taste and ethereal high. I'm really excited to grow it again and I'm even more excited to see what she does outside. The indoor Blue Dream was a big yielder so the outdoor might be a monster! These outdoor diaries won't be as detailed as my indoor as I don't want to spend too much time on them, but there will be good pics and updates. See you next week!

Grow Questions

It seems my Blue Dream has flowered prematurely after transplant outside. Cutting to the chase, what should I expect from this plant for the rest of the season? Will it reveg naturally and how long will it take to reveg? Should I be cutting off budsites? What do you think.

As Ez says. Your plant was triggered by lack of light. As transplant only really shocks autos into an early flip. (Not that you should, I'm just pointing out. Stress can cause early flip, but not with a fem) overcast or you're not getting enough light for 14hrs a day min is needed to keep a fem in veg. Say a few hrs she's blocked out by the sun for say 20m, (that won't be an Issue) as Photochrome takes 2hrs in a natural outdoor environment, as it does in a tent. That's the time it takes your plant to be fully out of umol to support a photosynthesis reaction.. so you're in the wrong time. Meaning you season was started to early?. Your outdoor lighting time as I said must be a constant 14+ hrs of good light. It might be a case of it revegging itself and finishing it as the natural pace. I see you've got it in a set bed. So, my guess. Is you are early. As its only coming into the long days where I live. Late April, for some is fine. Can be started, but you need to make sure by or coming into wk 3 that you are getting enough light. Or they'll flip.

Looks very healthy but I can see what you’re saying about it being a pain. I’ve got some Blue Dream Fast seeds from Seedsman that I will try outdoor next year as an 8 or 16 manifold Manifolding is easy enough, all the work is up front, it makes nice uniform buds, and harvest is so much easier. Good luck.

@Gold1, oh, if it was revegged, would this be called monstercropping? That would explain it and yeah you wouldn’t be trying to manifold in that scenario. Anyway, thanks and good luck.

@Northern_Ent, Yeah, she is a nightmare to deal with compared to the Fire Purps I'm growing next to her. Since the reveg, her stems grow short and its a pain to get in and work with her. I can just tell that she is going to have issues when she starts stacking buds. I've been trying to take branches off but it feels like no matter how much I take off there is still more :D. Hopefully it works out 👍. Thanks for the good luck and good luck yourself my friend!

Nice big plant but bud rot sucks. You might want to try manifolding your outdoor photoperiods next time. You’ll end up with good airflow to avoid bud rot and nice uniform buds which really makes processing way easier at the end. Good comments and I agree that if you just let the plants do their thing it likely won’t work very well.
