Germination

Unfortunately I killed two seeds probably by keeping them in too wet paper tissues for too long. So I had to germinate Pineapple Express and Grape Juice again. They popped out and I have put them into the soil, so they are going to be 10 days behind. About the inputs I am going to use during this grow. The liquid nutes are all handmade, based on Korean Natural Farming recipes. So I'll be using Fermented Plant Juice, made from Nettles, Oriental Herbal Nutrient (a complex plant stimulator made from medicinal herbs such as ginger, angelica root, liquorice etc.) Water soluble Calcium (WCA), and later on I'll make Fermented Fruit Juice and Water soluble Calcium Phosphate. I am experimenting with Indigenous Microorganisms as well, so I have collected some biology from nearby forests, hoping that I can integrate them in my garden. Beside this, the only input which is coming from "outside" is bat guano from Guanokalong, that I'll add to the soil mix and before flowering I use it as top dressing. That's all folks! I hope you will enjoy this, and may decide to go on the organic way!

Some of them just started their overground life. As I wrote in last weeks comments: I had to germinate a second seed of Grape Juice and Pineapple Express probably due to too moist papertowel. So they are a bit behind... For now they are in a simple organic potting soil, nothing fancy. 1-2 weeks they are going to stay in their little pots, then they go to the outdoor flowerbeds.

Is it normal for the first leaves to become yellow so early?

If you over water them then yes, that does tend to happen, leave em a day or two days longer before you water them in the future, once a week should be enough at this stage as they have small root systems, and its not that warm out yet either. Let the soil dry out more before you water next. Its that or your PH is WAY off in the soil or your water. Id think its the over watering before the PH thou. The roots are likely not getting enough air to grow faster. So ease up on the watering til they are bigger ok?

On 1st Juin they have been moved to their final place: a 450 liter flowerbed. I was worried about their slow start which might have been due to overwatering also, but transplanting them I realized that their roots were really well developed, so I am less worried now. As my IMO collection is still not very good, I cheated and put some mycorrhiza in their planting holes. The soil theay are in has peat, worm casting, bonemeal and perlite. As a dropdressing I added: seaweed, hempseed meal, granulated humic acid, diatomaceaous earth. Let’s hope the best!

Some weeks are missing from the diary, but lot of things happened. First of all: after transplanting the four plants one of my dogs went to chill in the flowerbed and just killed one of the plants. R.I.P Rainbow Road and broke Brookly Mango which survived but it took couple of weeks for her to recover. I am waiting now for a clone to take Rainbow Roads place. Grape juice is the strongest at the moment, but Pineapple Express is just a little bit behind. Good news is that i finally did the first and the second extraction of OHN ( oriental herbal nutrient) and the girls seem to like it…pretty much. Today, on 29th Juin I trim GJ and PE. I am watering them only foliarly because there have been enough rain for them and the mulch is working well.

In the morning I Sprayed them with a seaweed tea: soaked some seaweed for overnight and added seasalt. 07.06 supercropped GJ - the opened up a little but it doesn’t look too serious 07.07 OHN + FPJ + LAB + calcium shower 07.09 supercropped PE GJ looks good - it feels like the stem got healed

During supercropping the stem opened a little. I put some aloe on and taped it. Is there anything else I can do? What are my chances that it’s gonna heal without problem?

Growingg well. GJ looks amazing, Pineapple express has also responded well to supercropping and Brooklyn Mango is still the smallest, but it looks ok. Boosted the soils enzyms with a sprouted seed tea.

What do you think she is missing? She is in a nutrient rich soil. The others look good with darker leaves.

The leaves position looks good, she seems to drink.. maybe she needs more air in the soil or more or less watering. But you saying "rich soil" makes me worry about the oxigen.. you can poke little holes in the soil, pretending you are a blackbird.😆
