May 7: very warm spring happening so I’m starting her three weeks earlier than planned. Should be able to take advantage of stronger sun during summer.
Seeds are soaking in water on heating mat at about 73 F.
May 10: seed was opening but no tail formed yet. Planted into moistened Pro-Mix in a peat pot on the heat mat.
May 14: might be about to break soil, but not sure if I see it yet. Trying to warm it up a bit more. Very hot spring, and it’s hotter outside than in the basement so I brought her outside but still in shade for the afternoon.
May 18: maybe…but I don’t think it’s warm enough for this strain to germinate properly. Can’t be bothered to set up the tent with more controlled conditions, and other strains had no problem with these temps.
Will start a fourth domestic plant using something else. Better luck next time, but this one likely needs higher temperatures to start properly. Will leave her going for a few more days to see if there is progress, cuz I’m sure she’ll do fine here once she gets started. Maybe next year.
@eurorack, I was really pumped about this one and started two seeds planning to give one seedling away. They have both sprouted slowly and I don’t think I can keep these warm enough to start properly.
A replacement seed was started yesterday of an other strain, but I’ll try again next year for this Acapulco Gold.
