Hey everyone!
I'm starting my 1st grow. My tent is not big enough for 2 plants so I am planning to use multiple techniques in order to use this space more efficiently.
I've spent quite much time researching about growing and followed some grower chats so this grow is promising to be pretty interesting so feel free to follow my diary (gonna make weekly updates). All advices and comments are highly apreciated.😺
On below pictures you see both plants at the end of wk1. They already have some leaves and seems like they feel ok.
Watering them according to GHE flora table, currently 0,6ml/l for each component.
No stable watering schedule for now, only ~150ml when I feen that soil is too dry.
During wk02 both girls were doing fine.
Now they are watered according to GHE vegetation table.
Attached 1 small vent inside the box at the end of the week. I should have been done earlier but simply forgot about vent.
As you see on pictures I have added FloraFlex caps. I'm not sure is this is original ones (for some reason delivery is unavailable and I had tp buy it in local growshop for suspiciously low price) but it works fine.
1. Cap is spreading the water equally on top of the the soil which makes watering much easier.
2. Cap is hiding the soil from light. Which prevent soil flowering and does not dry that fast as it was without cap.
3. It is just much easier to make reverse watering with these caps.
Beside some issues are doing well and they have done much progress since previous week.
I've topped both plants and did it a bit wrong with Super critical but at the end of the week we can already see recovery progress. Well, next time I would do it better :)
The potential issue is that in my case size realy matters because my growtent is pretty small and I can't keep them on vegetation for too long and planned to switch them after wk4. So now I either do as I planned and get one less mature plant and defoliate Kalashnikova to slow it down and extend vegetation by one week. During the next week I'll try to figure out whats better.
Another issue is that at the end of the week I have noticed some brown dots on one of the top Kalashnikova's leaves which seems pretty much like Mg deficit.
I am not sure what to do in such cases. Today I'll try to water it one more time and see how it feels. And at the same time I'll start preparing my DIY CalMag. It is really cheap, simple and very efficient. Hope it would help then.
Hey everyone! Past week was pretty interesting. Let's see what had happened during this time.
At the begining of the week both plants were slightly defoliated and stratched. Each plant feel a bit different but generaly, I'm satisfied with how it goes and that was the last vegetation week.
Since that week I no longer know the exact amount of water that goes thru the pot and this is why I don't really care about it: I have put a fush tank pump to every plant and put both of them on timer. Minimum step of my timer is 30min so I have to go along with that. The exact pump efficiency is unknown but during that time every plant is getting approximately 5-8l of water. At wk4.2 I've set it to work like that 2 times a day.
The logic I follow with reverse watering is simple: it is impossible to overwater you plants as long as your drainage is fine and plant is getting enough oxygen with water. Plants are taking as much as they need and rest water goes the pot back to the pump. Holes in my aero pot also can be helpfull in such cases but there is still not that much water.
KALASHNIKOVA
This girl feels very good. Just compare her pictures after defoliation and fresh ones. I am impressed how she deal with stress. It grows that fast that at the end of the week you wouldn't even notice she was defoliated.
That was my 1st LST experience and it is pretty exciting to see how the stratched plant reacting on this exersice: during next 2 hrs the entire plant changed its shape literally on my eyes!
SUPER CRITICAL
That one is not that good as kalashnikova. It turned to be not that flexible and ubfortunately I've broke one branch. At the end this experience would cost me about 10grams of decent buds 😓.
But generaly it feels very good. Despite all this sterss it is already catching up her friend, whis is pretty impressive.
Thanks for reading my report.
Stay home, smoke weed and be safe.
Switched them to flowering and changed nutrient proportion according to GHE table. You can see a small deficit but hopefully this issue would be resolved after nutrients would be fully switched to flowering.
But generally, both plants feel good. They became almost twice bigger and defoliation is inevitable.
At the beginning of this week both plants were defoliated and due to small growtent size I had to continue LST. I can't let them grow higher, but it feels like soon they would stop growing that fast. Anyway, I still have to think how to keep them the same size as they are right now.
At the end of the week you can also see that another defoliation would be needed soon, gonna do it after they finally stop growing and show buds.
Nutrients were switched to blooming. Technically, now starts a lazy grow. Light and watering are on timers and I may easily leave them for a week or more without any damage to plants.
This week buds are showing up. Seems like Kalashnikova was a bit stressed after latest defoliation but now she is recovered.
There is really not much space left so I keep LST them.
My next challenge is to keep them as small as possible and at the same time let some light pass thru this jungle.
This week buds are getting bigger.
Plants are pretty close to the lamp but still feel ok. I keep LST them but now i'm gonna have to bend them horizontally or even backwards. The real issue is that the huge amount of leaves turns everything into a mess. Now it is too dangerous to defoliate them so I should not expect to get something good from lower buds but hopefully higher ones would get enough light.
Next grow I would remember to totally defoliate plants after switching to 12/12 if I decide to grow two plants in my box another time.
Nothing special happened during wk10.
This is the laziest part of the grow when I only have to add some water once a week.
Super Critical grows a bit faster. Most likely it would be harvested before Kalashnikova.
The entire process goes pretty slow but hopefully I would start cleaning them after wk11. In that case the entire cycle would take 13 weeks, which is imho pretty long comparing to the other reports but hopefully at the end I would get some decent buds.
You can also see how close they are to the lamp but it doesn't burn them. This is a big advantage of LED lights. Can't say they can't harm ur plants at all but it can't be compared to the other kinds of lamps.
Everything went pretty smooth for the first grow.
Super critical was harvested first and mostly due to the lack of space in the growtent I got only about 35 grams of buds. It feels like I should have been defoliated this girl togeter with Kalashnikova because in my case it turned that you either cut all leaves (like I did with mrs. Kalashnikova) or your bottom buds would have a bad structure. All of these buds went to trim (about 40g) that is good for decent joints.
For my next grow I would either get a larger growtent or gonna grow a just single plant.
Result with Kalashnikova is relatively good. I've noticed that defoliation during flowering is painful, but in my case it was really helpful.
Both strains are fairly good and it would be nice to switch them from time to time.
For the next grow I would either pick a larger tent or just grow one plant at a time in order to get more of decent buds. For the first time the entire process was pretty entertaining. I would definitely try more strains and techniques.
