Welcome to my grow diary for Apple Fritter (Photo) by Blimburn Seeds! This round I will be growing an autoflower concurrently with a photoperiod. My plan is to keep a long light schedule until the autoflower is ready for harvest, then switch the photo into a flowering schedule. Given how growth is in a couple of months, that may change! 5/20 Wrapped seed in moist paper towel, placed inside zip lock bag, and placed on router. 5/22 Good looking taproot. Planted about a quarter inch deep, lightly covered, and spritzed with distilled water. Placed a humidity tent with a spray of water over the top and raised the humidity to 75% minimum in the tent. Will lower the humidity and take off the tent once the first leaves come through. 5/23 Got a sprout today! Taking off the zip lock bag. Keeping humidity low 80s. Temp mid 70s. 5/25 Started stretching a bit. Gonna bring it up to the light 6 inches or so.

5/31 Very close to being transplanted! Feels like it's growing faster than my first grow. I'll be transplanting into a 3 gallon bucket filled 50/50ish with Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Happy Frog. 6/1 Transplanted into the bucket and watered with ph 6.5 water. 6/3 Rotating the bucket a quarter turn every time I visit.

Jun 10: Watered less than half gallon of Ph 6.7 water. Jun 12: That watering really gave a growth spurt! Bumping the humidity up to a max of 81% til early flower. Jun 13: Plant is tall enough to tie down the main stem to the side. Once the other stems get longer, I'll tie them down to the rim of the bucket as well, to maximize light exposure. Jun 15: Buckets are getting lighter, but the soil is moist, meaning my humidity was too high. That lead to some mold and algae that I will treat with spray Neem oil. Smells terrible, but should do the trick. Lowering humidity to 65% for a bit, then will probably get closer to 75% over the next few days. Decided to top, since the plant is getting big enough to support it!

June 21 Fed less than a half gallon of water yesterday evening. Getting really big now! I'm only defoliating low, small, shaded leaves that aren't getting any light.

June 26 Getting bigger and bigger! Makes me wonder if I should flip her to flower here soon to control the size since she's not an autoflower which is usually smaller, genetically. She hasn't used up all of the nutrients in the bucket yet either. June 27 Plant was a bit droopy, so a half gallon of PH'd water did the trick. June 30 Some lower leaves are getting yellow and dying. I'm taking that as a sign that the soil is almost out of nutrients. Mixed up a 1/8th strength of General Organics GO Box nutrients (week 1 to avoid nute burn), but upped the CalMag to 1/4 strength. Fed one gallon at a PH of 6.7 to slight runoff.

July 3 That round of nutrients didn't seem to resolve any leaf discoloration that has been occurring on a few leaves. A few fatter, lower fan leaves had tips that were dying, so I removed them from the stalk. Have a gnat issue from the onions that I started in the tent. I've removed that pot and sprinkled diatomaceous earth on the top layer of soil to choke out the gnats. I might try to apply a hydrogen peroxide and water mixture to the bottom of the bucket and drain pan to treat the gnats from the root end as well. The plant is starting to show pistils. I think I've decided to give it a few more weeks to fatten up before flipping to flower. I can't raise the light any higher now though, so that plan may change! EDIT: Mixed 7.5ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide to a half gallon of water. PH'd to mid 6s and then poured half of it in the drain tray to help with gnats near the roots. July 4 After the remedies, my gnat infestation seems to be gone. I've purchased RAW GROW nutrient powder, with which I'll add my Calmag to in the next couple of days to try and resolve this brown splotchiness.

I am dealing with a brown splotch issue on the leaves. Does this signify any particular deficiency?

wie @gottagrowsometime sagt. CalMag Sperre oder Mangel. Mit PH reguliertem Wasser und 20-30 Prozent Abfluss spülen. Dann wieder leicht andüngen + kleiner extra Dosis CalMag.

I'd have to strongly disagree with my fellow growers This is typical calmag. If it were K, I'd be seeing edges crispy and so on. Not on this. Also with the mag signs. Its just a typical calmag pal. As you're still in veg. I don't see it been K at this stage. If it were I'd of seen it coming up. I can see light mag on the week before You can add Epsom salt Foliar spray. Or an organic calmag r just feed it into sub. Good Growing

July 10 Most leaves are looking good. Some towards the center are still turning brown. I've purchased RAW Grow dry nutrients, and will probably feed tonight to see if the new nutrients will help. EDIT: Feeding tonight and adding epsom salt. 1.25 gallons of water water, epsom salt, and RAW Grow came to a PH of 6.6. Perfect for me!

July 21 That last feeding with extra calmag didn't seem to hurt anything. Not sure if it helped prevent the spread of whatever is causing the leaves to brown though. Those affected leaves aren't being dropped either. July 23 Tops are very close to touching the lights, so I'm gonna go ahead and change the light schedule to 12/12 to prevent any more stretch. This is my first photoperiod, so I'm not sure if another stretch will happen during flower. If so, I'm gonna have to do some kind of serious bending, like I'm dealing with my autoflower. Fed 1.25 gallons of water with 10ml of calmag, 22.5ml of epsom salt (whoops) and 7.5ml of RAW Grow. PH of 6.3. July 25 Noticed some little gnats walking around the soil today. Applied a sprinkling of diatomaceous earth to the soil to hopefully get rid of them.

July 26 Still fighting off browning on certain leaves. Photoperiods were supposed to be easier to maintain, but that just hasn't been the case. May stick with autos from now on.

Flowering! Return of the gnat issue this week. I am adding more gnat traps and adding a fan to point at the soil to dry it out. Lower leaves occasionally turn yellow and die off. About 5 a day. Still feeding RAW BLOOM at about 1.5tsps per gallon.

Fan appears to have resolved, maybe temporarily, the gnat issue. Friend and I cleaned up the lower leaves that weren't getting much light any longer to help the top leaves get more nutrients. Plant took it well. Was able to increase the light distance to the highest I could without redoing the whole tent. Am continually having to tie down the tallest colas to other colas to even out and lower the canopy to prevent burn. Too late in a few spots. Looking back, I definitely needed to turn up the light intensity sooner to prevent this much stretch.

Aug 22: Top colas are really looking good, when they're held down by wire and not burning against the light. Lots of yellow leaves still being dropped.

Sep 13 Starting to make it's way to purple! Sep 24 Uploading the last photos before I harvest in the next couple of days. Just waiting for the soil to dry out: as I find I get a better taste than when chopping right after feeding.
