Hey grommies, So this time we will try Cookies Gelato by RQS. This time I will veg it with the same old Viparspectra but flower it with an HPS, since the latest time the buds came out far from what I wished in terms of density. This was my second grow in any type of hydroponics and LED. Looking back the "blurple" vipar spectra was a mistake. Used it in a couple of grows, coincidentally when switched to dwc as well, so not only the learning curve was huge as I was having issues that I no longer have not using this old generation LED. That being said Viparspectra as very good more recent products, so nothing against the brand at all. Good grows!

Sadly I lost footage of the plant growth until this stage. Sorry🤦‍♂️🏽. So here I decided for the sake of science and my own curiosity, what can be the differences in growth and morphology when performing 2 spectums of training, one very very aggressive and other more chill. So I've low stress trained by bending one with the help of a wooden spoon as you can see lmfao. And i topped, cleared the branches and defoliated the other. At this point I'm just wondering gow much stress can one plant take.🤔

By now, I've topped again and it sprouted at this point 8 main branches. BUT... since brightness is a light setting and not an attribute of mine, my midsized ape like hands broke literally half of the plant. Thank god I've got 2. Besides the "small" inconvenience both plants, especially the lst one, are recovering very very good. With fast growth and no deficiencies. Good week

I've decided to switch to HPS one week before flip to 12/12. Gradually increased the EC and 2 weeks from now she will be fed with flower nutrients. By this time I usually cut on the calmag because of 2 much nitrogen can cause toxicity and ruin your flowering stage if it's corrected to late.

Seem like the switch to flower made the plants burst in growth. They are stretching good and even and alredy touching all the tent walls.

The plant on the right doesn't seem like it wants to stop stretching and its alredy taking more than her share of space... Kinda like my girlfriend when we sleep 😴 😶‍🌫️😅. Considering that when the door opens it's alredy 25cm outside of the tent and some white pistils are alredy showing, I sincerely hope the stretching stops...twice

Another week and the monster finally stopped growing at that pace. Everything is going well, ph and ec controlled and the temps range is not bad.

And here we go! Flowers appeared and they're looking yummy. Just gave her the Bloom appropriate feed and we're on auto pilot until any signs that I need to intervene. The last 2 photos of this week are curious on how different 2 leafs of the same strain (2 RQS cookies gelato seeds) can be so different, which leads me to believe altought it's the same strain, they're 2 distinct phenotypes. Have a good week.

This week you can see some macro of some bud sites. Some of the longer white pistils seems to have burnt a little, turning brown way too soon. Might have been light or nutrient burn. Probably nutrient as I raised the ppm earlier and the leaf tips indicate the same, altough not very seriously. The branches on this one after stretch and no silica, are thin a seem a little brittle and weak. That being said, the bud formations, bud size for the time, resin, smell...all in point. Edit @Joshehutch for some reason i cant answer your comment😅. Always get blocked for 7Hours lol.

To support the bud weigh I installed a trellice. Altought because I had to travel, when I returned, there were a lot of issues to adress but the main one...the reservoir dried out, HPS run hot and this lady drank 10L in 3 days. Let's adress this issues and hope for the best. Meanwhile now, 1 plant takes 90% of the space and the other is trying to stand for her rights as a minority.

What i can say is even with some neglect on my part, Royal Queen Seeds strain never ever disappoint. In the end a medium high producing strain, that offers sweet aromas from early flowering period. Doesn't demand a lot of nutrients but can handle much more light than i gave her. A mistake I aint repeating. The flowers foxtailed but are FULL of resin, giving me a hard time trimming 😅. They're are shaped more like a sativa with slim long colas. The smoke is very smoth, a bit earthy and floral and pine like hints. Overall greatness achieved by Royal queen seeds once again. Highly recomend for hard everyday smokers and connoisseurs. See u guys on the next one! Good grows.
