This is my first grow ever. I have setup my tent yesterday which is a 80x80x160cm tent. I have two small USB fans which are going to be used for ventilation (currently only one is being used in the tent to push air in) and I am using a 300W LED light. The seeds I have are 4 Northern Light Auto (RQS) seeds (I ordered 3 but they gave me one for free) and 1 Malana Bomb Auto (Barney's Farm). Currently, I am trying to germinate two of the seeds, 1 Northern Light Auto and 1 Malana Bomb Auto. After looking at hours of footage on how to germinate seeds I decided to try two methods. I put the Northern Light Auto in a water cup and on top of my PC for warmth and I put the Malana Bomb Auto straight in a pot full of soil and watered very little on top and put it in the tent under the grow light. If the Northern Light Auto doesn't germinate in 24 hours I will be taking it out of the water and doing the paper towel method. The picture is of the Malana Bomb Auto. The Northern Light Auto is still in a cup of water. I hope that both of them germinate and sprout successfully. If you can give me any tips for a new grower about this germination stage I would greatly appreciate it! I am excited to see how my first grow goes and I will be keeping track and updating it here often :) --------------------------------- DAY 2 The ropes for the light arrived! I have adjusted the grow light to be closer to the pot now with the ropes that arrived. I checked on the Northern Light Auto and it is still germinating in a paper towel (no root yet) inside of a zip bag in a dark and warm place. The Malana Bomb is still in the pot and has not sprouted yet since it is probably still germinating. One thing I have noticed is that the soil in the pot was completely dried out so I watered it. This is very interesting because I have another smaller pot in the tent which has no seed inside and I watered it the same time as the first water I did for the Malana Bomb just for comparison and testing. --------------------------------- DAY 3 Nothing as of now. The Northern Light Auto has still not germinated in the zip bag and the Malana Bomb is still in the pot under the soil. I watered the pot again since the soil was dry again which I guess happens because of the grow light. --------------------------------- DAY 4 The Northern Light Auto in the bag has not germinated so I decided to plant it in the empty pot next to my Malana Bomb. The reason I did this is because the Malana Bomb actually has a root out and it looks like a pretty good one too ( I had to dig in the soil a little to look if there is one since I thought neither of my seeds are germinating). I learnt a lot from this for future seeds. Putting seeds in a water cup or paper towel seems useless since I just planted one in the soil straight away and it has more progress than the one I had in a water cup then in a paper towel. I guess the more natural the better so straight to soil it is for me. I am really excited that the Malana Bomb has germinated and I can't wait to see it sprout. I did not water it again, I only sprayed it and let it be. --------------------------------- DAY 5 The Malana Bomb has grown above the soil! The seed is still stuck onto the root itself but I am really happy about this progress. I have also planted 3 more Northern Light Auto in the tent. 1 in a 5 gallon pot, 2 in jiffy pots just to try them. So far so good! --------------------------------- DAY 6 Both the Malana Bomb Auto and the Northern Light Auto have sprouted! Both look pretty good so far, I keep spraying them from time to time and I watered the Malana Bomb a little today.

The leafs started to look yellow in the middle when I checked on them today. They looked fine to me yesterday so I guess this happened in the past 24-48 hours, not sure why. It can be seen on Day 12 pictures. Is this normal or I should be worried?

Hi @TheMan! The curly/wavy leaves tells us that this seedling is suffering from heat+high relative humidity - or - overwatering. This can lead to nutrients deficiencies, too much heat and too much water will dramatically change the way plants handle nutrient and light. You probably need to reinforce your airflow, and try to follow a dry/wet cycle. Roots need to be on a dry/wet cycle to properly spread, searching for water. Now, your pH might be related too, a 7.0 pH is neutral whereas cannabis plants in soil need a slightly acidic pH range (6.0~6.5). Finally, we're missing a few informations to refine the diagnosis: what medium are you using (EC/PPM levels)? Have you been giving any kind of nutrients? If so, at what frequency? How often do you water, how often do yo feed, what's the volume of your waterings, how long do you let the medium dry between two waterings? If you look at all the hypothetical sources for this issue, I'm confident your baby will recover and become a strong adult. If you're stuck with yellowing+wavy leaves in a few days, keep us up-to-date and we'll be around to help. Happy growing 👊

@Stick, Thank you! It does seem like my issue was with overwatering. The leaves seem to already be returning to green colour only after a day. If the problem is gone after this I do have pH UP and pH DOWN solutions ready for the water but I am sure it was overwatering that caused this after reading your answer and doing some research on the side. Also, the leaves have seemed to "wake up" compared to yesterday where they were looking all down and depressed. I hope it is all good now, thank you again!

Hi have been reading about your " confusion" about germination. Patience is the key- I would recommend to let the seed soak water for up to 24 hours and then put in the paper where they have it dark and humid. that can take up to 5 days... and after planting it can take 4-5 days more.until they show up.. most time its faster about 4-5 days at all but sometimes it takes much longer, it depends on the quality of the seeds. And i wont skip the first step letting them soak water .... the germination succes is up to 100 percent this way. i have maybe 1 of 30 seeds that dont germinate that way

You have some really nice buds developing. I’ll be following you along since it’s my first grow with the same seeds! Wish you all the best👏
